For those who ask: this is kickboxing semi-contact style. Been doing this for years back in end-80s /beginning of 90s. So no taekwondo whatsoever. Wako is the world association for this sport. It derives from what was called, during the 60/70s, karate contact. Thx for sharing this video. Great fight. Great fighters
michaels brother coached me in one of my kickboxing fights in bristol a few years ago and i was tweeting raymond ..... hope to meet them both at the nextr irish open , been watching raymond fight since i was 10
Omg I just found out about Raymond Daniels and the first thing I said was his fighting style reminds me of Michael venom Page's style and a fight between then would be amazing and now I just found this video :)
@@badminou5650 Michael Venom Page is a high-level contender in Bellator's Welterweight division right now, only recently receiving his first loss after a string of victories. Raymond Daniels has also fought in MMA just as MVP has dabbled in kickboxing, however.
@@SaftonYT And the first opponent previous ( Paul Daley ) to his first loss pretty much exposed him and revealed why he'd been fighting only low level opposition, and to beat him it took one leg kick and a follow up shot which exposed another flaw in his already flawed fighting style ( karate point fighting ) in that his chin is weak. You aren't dominant in MMA if the first time you fight someone that's ever been inside of the top 10 ( And it was a way out of prime Paul Daley, who wouldn't even be top 10 in the UFC ATM ) of a division and gives you a close decision and then the fight after that against someone that's a younger top 10 dude stops you in the first round, it's over, he never was dominant and he'll never be champion in bellator let alone top 5 without bellator cherry picking the shit out his opponents.
@@badminou5650 I'm not even an MVP fan, dude. I thought you were asking a legitimate question, not baiting a trap for your MVP hate parade. You're barking up the wrong tree. I don't follow Bellator.
@@SaftonYT Typical, tries to talk like he knows what's up and then backs out and tells me I'm the one trolling. Being a legit fan that hates when stupid shit is said is entirely different, the dude is NOT dominant in MMA period, now go back to your soy diet.
Yes, sure, but I think he'll fight Andrei Koreshkov first. I love these fighters with different style. Now MVP against Duglas Lima establishes a new pattern. Bellator has nothing to envy UFC. Bellator sometimes has better cards than the UFC, but Fox sports has displaced him.
@@arizonatea3734 I would not be so sure. Raymond Daniels continued his experience in kick boxing and MVP in MMA. Regardless of what happened at the Irish Open, many years have passed. Daniels at that time suffered defeats by low kicks, MVP now has clearer its weak points. Anyway, that fight will be great.
@@hombre7364 mvp is just too exaggerated and he got used to breaking the basics against half ass strikers is my thought. The blitzing is way out of control as lima showed.
Damn are they fast... It looks like the whole purpose of this style is to hide a single attack. Amazing how completely different this is from everything else I saw Page do. Strange that a fighter can be so good at so many different styles. I would have thought you need to specialise to get up to snuff.
It is points. They stop fighting and reset after one/both score a point from an attack. Semi-contact/continuous would be a free flowing round with a winner decided at the end based on number of clean hits and general control of the fight.
this isn't "karate" this is tae kwon do with punching incorporated into it. It's ITF tae kwon do. just youtube search itf tae kwon do or olympic tae kwon do.
+waterflowzz itf taekwon-do, point karate (not shotokan knock-down karate), and point kickboxing are all really similar. raymond daniels is an american kenpo black belt and MVP is a kickboxing black belt.
Same movement like in sport karate.. we can see there uramawashingeri, mawashi geri bit it can be some other type of karate for example like shotokan, goju ryu or it is kiokushkin karate ... Doesnt matter but it is karate. No kickboxing and no teakwondo.
The best fighters in the world. The real GOATS. My favorite MMA fighters. Both of them are. They would destroy anyone in the UFC. They are so many levels above Conor its not even funny and I love Conor so don't get me wrong.. I am just saying. This kind of fighting you have to be really good at to do. Anyone can fight in MMA but not anyone could fight even the colored belts in Karate tournaments. Shit is hard and its real AF
peeps in the comments clearly haven't heard of points kickboxing, lol. and yes, i know it's kind of silly. i was really surprised when i started doing kickboxing. i was like, wait, what the fuck is this shit?
1 - because of their gear: they don't have a dobok (taekwondo version o the kimono), they don't have the vest, they have kickboxing gloves 2 - because of the rules: in taekwondo the fight is not stopped after each point, it is a continuous fight. Also in taekwondo no head punches are allowed, only head kicks.
