The last time New England visited Chicago. A huge late-season interconference battle between Brady's 10-2 Pats and Cutler's 9-3 Bears in a snowstorm at Soldier Field.
"[The Patriots] are the best team in the NFL," Urlacher said on Sunday. "I don't know what I was talking about, but they came in here on our field, our weather and just pounded us. We couldn't stop them." -Brian Urlacher, after this game.
Patriots beat all 4 teams in the conference championship and SB winner in 2010. Chicago, Green Bay, Pittsburgh and the Jets enroute to 14-2. As a long time fan this year was second to 2007 as far as a blown chance at a title.
It's ashame Patriots should have at least 2-3 more super bowl wins. I guess you gotta take the bad w the good. But damn how sweet would it be to have 2010 back? And those 2 against the giants
@@chuckmiller9148 You cant win them all. But I remember thinking when the conference title games rolled around...wow...we played all these teams. I felt we may have had a chance if we made it that far. Same for 2006. Bears made the Super Bowl, but we blow a 21-6 lead and Colts face the Bears instead.
This team was team was just way to young they just had a hell of a drafted in 2010 and it really improved from from 2009 significantly they basically hit on all there needs I wish they kept moss another year.
I am no Pats fan, but as someone who loves the QB position, there’s Drew, then there’s Tom. Watching him in the snow, he is outrageously Godly. It is totally ridiculous. 36-4 TD-INT ratio?!?! I wish Drew had that. The 14-2 Pats shoulda won that year. I bet Tom could play in an 8.5 earthquake and still have a perfect passer rating...
this was a transitional time between the two dynasties where the defense was horrible. I think the defense might have been ranked 32nd overall this 2010 year, either that or 2011.. but the D was horrible in general from 09-13, they couldn't stop anybody unless it was smoke and mirrors and heavy scheme... it was like that until they got Talib and then Talib turned into Revis.. and by then 2014 core of guys belichick drafted like Hightower, Chandler Jones, Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan, Jamie Collins, Devin McCourtey were all coming into their own.. but during this in-between era the secondary was the worst in the NFL.. Belichick just couldn't acquire a good CB and kept drafting scrubs from Rutgers lol but it coincided with Brady playing god-tier QB in 2010 and 2011 with a lot of weapons..they were not a very balanced team at this time
Came here after a long reading session of Jeff Benedict’s book “the dynasty”, looking for Gronkowski’s touchdown. According to the account, Gronk didn’t run the route the way Brady expected in practice. Brady laid into him and they were at odds, Brady had ridden him hard all year. However, on that touchdown, Gronk ran it to perfection and Brady “never treated him like a rookie again”. Only saw the NFL network highlights of this game (I live near Philly so it wasn’t on), and they never played that TD. I was a sophomore in high school in 2010 and Brady was my favorite player (still is). I remember watching the highlights and loving the snow. Years later, I got to attend the 2013 Lions @ eagles blizzard bowl. Football is such an incredible experience whether you’re reading, watching, or really there in the stands.
There was a lot of buzz around this game because of what was at stake during the time. New England were looking unstoppable with a 10-2 record and were on a four game winning streak in which they were averaging 40 points a game during that run. Chicago was very good that year, a 9-3 record after a 5 game winning streak themselves, and were trying to chase down the 11-2 Atlanta Falcons for home field advantage. Unfortunately Tom Brady was able to handle the weather conditions better than Jay Cutler, I think if it had been a clear day, it would have at least been a much closer game.
@@kellijones6481 another thing is the bears wore the wrong cleats in the first half and people forget that That’s why the second half wasn’t nearly as bad for Chicago
watched this game in Lancaster, PA and it got so bad they cut away to a different game. I had to find a site in southwestern Indonesia that was ahem streaming the game to watch the rest.
Wow I was at this game…it was miserable 😖. The only thing us Bears fans had to cheer about was when a Bears fan nailed a cheering Patriots fan in the head with a snow ball 😝
Lol this proves that even in the hypothetical 1 v 1 matchup in the SB, Pats-Bears, the Pats would have won easily. But we ended up with Packers Steelers which, while not a great game, was a good and entertaining game.
Packers got hot down the stretch - that game would've been a lot closer than you think. When the packers and pats played in the regular season, I believe Rodgers sat out with an injury?
lmao!! wtf are you saying?? DG was the biggest farce in NFL , physical conditions have always affected the football to a slight degree for ANY QB that plays outside in cold weather. apparently Brady not as much, as evidenced here.
