@@mialarkenson2539 wrong England in the UK has very hard downpours especially in Summer when thunderstorms hit and they will get worse as the climate warms up
I can’t wait to experience things like this, I can’t wait to get my drivers license and buy my first car so that I can experience this awesomeness. I love driving. It is so satisfying and enjoyable
Great video, thank you! I was looking for a video to show my two year old how wipers work in the rain. This was perfect. PS I love your neighborhood! Looks like you live in a near area.
really loved the video!!! I like driving in the rain. I have a 2008 GLI, i love VW !!! thanks a lot for the clear HD video i like to see different country roads!
Cool stuff! I was in the Saratoga Springs area in late August 2011 (visiting from Seattle), and as we get no thunderstorms really at all, it was cool to see a storm that not only dropped tons of rain and lightning, but apparently had a few tornadoes with it as well!
That's the passenger airbag light, it says that when there is nobody sitting in the passenger seat or a lightweight child is sitting there (who shouldn't be). There's no manual override, there's a weight sensor in the seat like just about every new car for the past 10 years or so.
Wow, I heard those sucked by the look of your video I say they did pretty good. How long did you have them and how do they compare to Rainx latitude/bosch icon?
I have always liked driving in such weather conditions. Great, but slightly risky. I also noticed that the speedometer limit is till 160 whereas here we have till 260. Is it kmph taken as speed measure in your country?
heavy rains, long drives after lunch, thick clouds, mild lightning, low light, mountainous area, lots of trees, travelling with your partner, stops in between for a cup of tea/coffee and a cigarette, then continuing on the journey. What more would you want.
You took us a nice ride! I watched the video twice in 720p and full screen! =D But as I can see the weather is too cold at your area. At which state do you live? California?
I think this storm (or something just like it) has moved on to northern PA. It's pouring out here right now. P.S. What do you think of MyFord Touch in your Focus? My Explorer has it and I love it!
I saw all that moving across Vt. on the Weather Channel today. My friends in New Hampshire...(southern), missed that line of storms as it went to the north of Lake Winnepesaukee. Mark in Iowa.
@@andybub45 i have a 2006 jetta and getting rid of it in February for a Rav4 or Tacoma. Never get a car from international, spent over 6k on repairs and theirs always another problem. They are money pits. VW is reliable but expensive to fix cause parts need to be shipped, never getting it again. Only got it as my mom gave me it as i needed a car while she got a 2019 tiguan
Crazy storm? No that's just a storm if your car isn't being kicked around switching lanes by accident, it's just rain. There's not even any hail! But your snow video is helpful as there was a ton of snow on the ground. Thanks for posting though.
Man I had a similar model from your jetta, it was called bora but they stop producing it, i have a amarok, ( looks so cool in the rain) and a jetta 2015 GTI
mercmilan06 really. Looks like. I've just watched a couple of videos and I just watched one where you collected your s3. Stunning car. You've gained a subscriber !
@boboblocks I really like MyFord Touch! Your Explorer is a really nice car too, I sat in one and played with it for a while when I picked up my Focus from the dealer :)
@sandulacheee They only looked like this for 2010 so unless you have a 2010 Jetta, then you'll have the older blue gauges and a different steering wheel. I'm sure you could change them but it would take quite a bit of work.
No this isn't the lousy Americanized Jetta. 2010 was the last year of the "good" over-engineered Jetta and Volkswagen upgraded the interior for 2010 only so the controls look the same as newer Volkswagens but it's still much much nicer than the 2011+ models. This is also the Wolfsburg Edition so it has the 2.0T and DSG from the GTI and sport tuned suspension, the car's a blast to drive.
@@esvinperez3580 Dude like you cant say that vw is not good car,In Europe vw looks better and all people in Europe like vw and dont like American cars but in America people like American cars more than Europe ones i dont say anything but there is big difference betwen Europe people and Americans.
I was driving in one even worse than this. it was the first time i ever hydroplaned, and couldnt see what was in front of me or behind me with the front and rear wipers on as fast as they will go! hahah
Yeah I know. You have a cool car. It just looked a little unusual to me. I have a 1992 buick roadmaster and at 40mph my rpm is around 1,000. At 60mph I'm at 1,450. And at 75 mph I'm at 1,750-1,800.
That's not unusual, your car has a V8, meaning the engine wouldn't need to work as hard to get the same thing done as a 4cyl (unless this car has Volkswagens 5cyl which was pretty popular in the US, Europe usually had the TSI's). Your engine is probably also twice the size (measured in liters or cu. in.) Even for an older 4 speed gearbox, those rpm numbers aren't too strange.
Merc, I know this is an old vid, I've seen your recent ones but I just happened to be here. Have you any knowledge as to why cars in America give annoying and excessive beeps when you start the engine?
@@EricAtMazda Thanks for the reply! It's strange to me, it seems any video I watch in the USA when a car starts it's engine, it beeps. I live in Ireland, and they don't do that at all. My car doesn't beep unless the door is open and I drive a 2018 Passat
@@EricAtMazda well the correct answer that it all depends on the person. If you put your seat belt on BEFORE starting the car, then there is NO BEEP. In USA most of us are taught that first thing you do is start the car THEN fasten your safety belt. So yeah, your comment of saying your fellow Americans are dumb wasnt exactly accurate, unless being a reasonably intelligent person who is spouting off negativity makes you dumb and simply not "uneducated" on the subject.
@@Edvard.Munchkin for older cars some of them used to beep for every door that’s open now it’s just the driver side unless u have push button start then when they keep leaves the vehicle it beep then the self belt chimes there’s so many lol
Is that the Americanized Jetta? VW decided to remove a ton of features and price it competitively, they are selling a ton more but wow, seems like a step backwards. I was next to a GLI the other day, wow nice looking car and I think this one is built in Germany not Mexico so there is still hope :)
