Testing the waters, as they say. I need some elbow room at home. If it is still for sale, it will most probably be listed in the St. Louis, MO Craigslist.
Thanks Mike. It was sad to pull out the camera for this video. Too bad they stopped making the rear entertainment packages for the M. The power is intoxicating and I like to drive whenever I can. At the end of the day, my daughter will pick the m45 for any road trip. Why? Because it has a screen in the back. Apparently even a tablet won't cut it. Lol
Thanks DoubleA. I was worried about comfort being that the screen is that high on the ceiling, but obviously Infiniti knew what they were doing. She doesn't get fatigued. My daughter didn't say she disliked the m56, she just repeated a few times that the grey car is the one with the TV. Lol
@@southeastga9124 never owned an s600 myself, but I sat in one briefly. I'd say this car would be more Benz S class-like than bmw 7 series. Big, brute power, focused on the sporty side of things. Luxury comes second.
i do think the taillights on my infiniti m45s are cleaner though with the 2 circles, i wrapped the blinkers with limo tint film makes them look 10x better
Akira Maruyamam I had an M35 sport with a Stillen exhaust system, engine died after 210k very hard red lined miles. Less power than my M37 but it handled better and sounded awesome!!
Akira Maruyamam the engine seized, I was doing almost 95mph on a road trip; my mechanic said he could rebuild the engine or get one for about $3.5-4K USD, it wasn’t worth it to me. I used to redline the car all the time, so it was driven very hard for the 10 years I owned it. I got anM37 and expect to push to at least 250k ok ot
Awesome review. It was quite enjoyable. I too love my Infiniti’s. I have an 09 G37 coupe, and 09 FX50S with all the bells and whistles. I really love the FX. My only sore thumb with it was the gear shift it shares with the G37. Brand new at 72k, Infiniti could have done better, but I get over it really quick once I am driving. It’s a fun car and impresses me every drive. My G37 had brand new and 10 yrs later, no problems outside of preventative maintenance.
Thanks James. I would like to do an owners review having had it a couple of years now. Also in the plans is an FX, or the unicorn 2014 version. FXs can be found, it's the proper color combos and packaging that becomes a challenge. Unfortunately, I can never find the cars I want anywhere close to me to test out. But I feel like I will love the FX
Sure is a pretty car! I drive a modded Charger Srt8. Love 4-door power and beauty, and the M56 fits the bill. Approaching 50 years old, and just recently realized, .....I don't need to be the fastest car in town. I just want something fun, powerful and pretty. Will be looking for an M56 when my current car is paid off in a year. Something about it, ....not sure what?? ...just pulls me in!
They are amazing cars. Definitely a good balance of power & looks. Some people will find the lack of aftermarket support a little disappointing. But I've enjoyed the interior more than many domestics I've been in
The key wont open the trunk if the vehicle is running. It's so you dont accidentally hit the button in your pocket while driving and have the trunk pop open. That goes for any vehicle not just this one
I had a 08 g37 and then 2012 m37 .. and the only time they were fast was only when I shifted gears myself .. but when it was in normal mode the gears seemed confused at times and when I would hit the gas it was like I was still in 2nd gear ... Now I noticed you have the 06-09 infiniti .. how did that model / generation drive ? I always wanted to know because I actually lost a race with my m37 to a m35
as much as i like and admire this car, just worried how many of these buttons and dials will still be working after several years of driving/use... more parts = more failures
USA SPEC BT45-INFI Bluetooth Phone, Music & AUX Input have you looked into these added it to my m45 and gave it bluetooth song name and artist also pops up on the screen very worth it for $100!
@@EdBwoy oh it has bluetooth music streaming? My m45 is a 2007 so bluetooth only works for calls, but I can finally use it to stream music without needing to use the rca to aux cable which has this weird buzz to it when connected, I have an iPhone 8 so I also wasn't able to play music while charging my phone without a $50 adapter. What I initially did was unscrew the rca cables from the rear of the center console mounted it inside the center console then drilled a hole in the center console storage box and wires the aux cable through it. Worked well until I upgraded to an iPhone 8! Ill make a video off the stuff I've done to my car sometime. Ive been following your channel ever since I purchased it. Without you and niccoclub I wouldn't have been able to do 90% of what I've done. Now im getting a weird knocking sound when turning my steering wheel thats my next task if you have any idea what can be causing it please let me know haven't been able to find much info so far.
Just totaled my 07 m45 sport with the bourbon brown interior :/ thinking about upgrading to a m56s hopefully 2013 if I can find one. Or even thinking about waiting for the Nissan z to come out and saving up in the meantime. Question is how is the reliability and mpg on the 07 m45 compared to m56? Huge reason I want to finally get a brand new car is not having to worry about repairs and gas mileage, especially now that I live in downtown la….
Damn, sorry man! Hopefully you came out unscathed. Gas mileage has been great, compared to the M45, but it's a more complicated car so the M45 doesn't need as much attention.
@@EdBwoy thanks for the helpful info, and yes I was fine thanks to God. So the m56 requires more mechanical work and maintenance I assume? Personally do you like the handling in the m56 sport more or 45 sport? I was a bit worried about the mpg on m56 because online it shows it’s rated lower than the m45 but people on niccoclub have put up some good numbers in their 56
@@JESUSISKING77742 I know it’s not what you’re looking for, but for what it’s worth, I bought 6 months ago a 2019 Q70L sport + sensory package with the 3.7 V6. IMHO, the Y51 platform is wonderfully satisfying to drive. But I’d say it’s more “serene” than sporty, especially with the LWB. We’re lucky that these cars were available in the US! I’m also a huge Infiniti enthusiast, so I may be positively biased 😅
@@JESUSISKING77742 Also, very sorry to hear you lost your bourbon leather ‘07 Y50. These are total unicorns and are literally impossible to find. The only one I ever saw with this color option was one in display at the LA auto show a long time ago… 😢
Thanks Radd. I think my heart is set on finding a white one. Then I can get the black wheels for contrast. But trust me I've been looking. A car like mine is hard to come by, regardless of color.
@@bhodmondezz2625 man, where are you guys getting the work done that cheap? I eventually bought a different car wrapped blue. It catches attention for sure. I wish Infiniti was as bold with their color options (like Dodge)
@@EdBwoy yes any upgrades? All ive seen is the exhaust(stillen). Where can i find anything aftermarket from body to lights and engines..i have this same car all ive found is the stillen exhaust. Thanks very much for the response
Bro I can not find it. I have the m37s.... where in the world is the xm radio module? In my m45 it was in the trunk upper liner. I pulled down my upper liner and no module. I’m trying to change the xm radio antenna
Trunk, right side, bottom side of rear parcel shelf. I am sure the antenna can be changed right at the roof, there was a write up on the nicoclub forum
I Would Love To Have That Vehicle Especially Because Its Black & A Sport Model But I Might Just Get A 2011-2013 Infiniti QX56 SUV I Had Too Many Infiniti M's Its Time For A Infiniti SUV...Not Saying That I Might Not Get Another Infiniti M But I Want A QX56 More
I understand. I had my fun with SUVs, but I realized I am a 4 door sedan guy. But, the QX56/QX80 would be it, if I decided to get one. That's a very sturdy platform with good tech
EdBwoy I Been Looking At A Few 2011-2013 M37S & A Few 2011- 2013 QX56 & They Are Around The Same Price Believe It Or Not I Want All Infiniti Vehicles A Black G37S A Black M37S & Black QX56 Or QX80
They should, I just don't know how good the fitment is being that the rear one is pretty wide. I think they will poke in the rear, just like GTR wheels. But I have a single front wheel I was gonna test on these cars. I'll update you once I make room for them in the garage
Hey I’m a college student and honestly in love with this car. Is it reliable? Is the insurance expensive? Sorry if I’m bothering you I would just like a primary source to give me this info.
Hey, no worries man. Although I don't drive it everyday, it has been rock solid and I am confident to take it out at any point (except snow and salted roads). The only thing I needed to do over regular maintenance was to address a leaking radiator plug. Insurance is pretty reasonable too. Approx $600 for 6 months, full coverage with a very low deductible.
Technically, they do not. However, they offered the sport appearance package to some AWD models. They are called M37xS or M56xS, or in later years they are referred to as the Q70S AWD
Dude I wish I could buy a m56 in my country. For whatever reason (haven't figured out yet) can only cop the 37. Always the option of the m45, but I love the lines and interior of the 56/37
Where are you located? I saw that where the M came as a Nissan Fuga or Cima only got the V6 options. Missing the V8 sucks, but at least the non-US interiors have nice features like reclining rear seats.
@@EdBwoy I'm in New Zealand. We have V8 Cima's and Fuga 450s(M45), but for whatever reason every gen after only comes with the V6. So I'm still tossing up between getting the older v8 or the newer v6. Pretty much the same power but one has the satisfying 8 cylinder sound or modern curves and interior with the 7spd I didn't know about the reclining seats, I'll have to look out for that.
@@bangarang3810 well, tough spot to be in. The v8 is smooth, exciting enough, with "just ok" fuel economy. The newer models will be obviously more expensive, but the 3.7 engine is no slouch either. They can keep up with the older v8s, while outshining them in fuel economy. More modern features too
EdBwoy Edbwoy Bad News, My M45s Was Hit Downtown Saint Louis Last Week They Totaled Me Out. I Am Sad Af I Had Just Put New Aero Kit On, Added Factory BT, Refinished Hypersilver Wheels, New Front And Rear Bumper Covers, Uprev Tune, Full Catback To Magnaflow 14816’s I Am Sickkk! I Am Looking For M56, Can You Help Me?
Hey bro, I’m thinking about getting a 2011 M56S with 104k miles but I heard these models have timing chair issues after 90k miles. How is the repair bills holding up if you had any? Hope to hear from u soon. It’s a beautiful car u got!
Thank you brother. Mine has been flawless, but honestly it's hard for a car to break when it spends most of its time in the garage, lol. A few people have had issues with the rear steering, so if the 4WAS light is on, it could be an expensive repair or ignore it. Go to my channel and follow this playlist called Y51, M56, Q70.
@@CryptoDad83 oh, and if your VIN number was affected by the timing chain issues, it should have been covered by the recall. Check with a dealership for open recalls.
EdBwoy I will. It's difficult to find a used reliable & practical V8 sedans..I love M56s but it's nowhere in California, I hate German cars, and I kinda like the Charger R/T but Chrysler's reliability is subpar so..I'm having Reel hard time finding a V8 sleeper sedan right now. Keep searching tho!
Hey Bryan you may want to check the history on that car Infiniti had a recall on that issue and maybe the previous owner may have had it replaced already.
I'm guessing the Infiniti models will be cheaper. If cost is not an object, then do a lengthy test drive with each. I believe the characters of the cars are quite different
@@EdBwoyhehe. I can only imagine. Well it was nice to know you still respond to your posts after soo many years. Good stuff. Keep the reviews coming. Cheers.
@@manmonchill I do my best to keep in touch. There are certain advantages to having a small channel, and for the most part I still deal with the same vehicles I did years ago.
@@mn507-outdoors nah, still riding stock. I have some tentative plans if I ever get the time to do them along with all the other projects, but that's going to be all visually subtle changes yet very effective. I have a project car that I could go crazy with.
This is the car I want. I prefer the body of the M over the Q. What gives a better drivers experience over the M45 and the M56 that YOU prefer which one seems more sporty?
@China I'd say it depends on the purpose of the trip. The M56 is still a beast in the power department but not as "tossable" when it comes to ride and handling. The M45 wins in most situations, the M56 is very good for the highway. It is pretty good around corners too (nice seats) but you can feel the mass
Out of the box, an M56xS, or Q70 AWD is a very good and wholesome package. If well optioned, is has all (except 2) of the physical/cosmetic features of the sport and the AWD drivetrain. On a handling basis, the RWD M56 sport is still king. Nothing can make a non sport car dance around corners like the 4WAS/rear active steer. 2013 is the last year they offered the rear active steer, plus the rear sonar sensors and trunk close assist came around in 2013. To me, if the price and the color combination is right, a *2013 M56S* is the car to get. If you don't care for the handling, any 2015+ V8 with AWD would be good. The 2014 Q70 is still an M56 except the name, and misses out on the cool around view monitor camera. This is not to be snobbish against the V6. They handle nicely but a lot of cool features were standard on the V8 and optional for the V6. So although V6s are more abundant, getting a fully loaded M37 can be tough. The reality is that you can make any car *look* like a sport model. Base, AWD, you name it. It's going to get easier to do that as the cars age and parts become more available. But on functionality, I'll take a genuine V8 sport any day.
@@EdBwoy thanks that's very helpful. It seems like you can't get a Q70 AWD with paddle shifters but you can on the m56xs (although they're pretty rare). Is that your understanding as well? I was asking about the sport more for the paddle shifters as it would make it more fun to drive and I've also heard the m56 has some transmission shifting lag which is mitigated by manual mode with the paddle shifters.
@@cyclonus01 ok, gotcha. So yes it depends on your wants. From my recollection, every *Sport* branded vehicle should have paddle shifters, whether RWD or AWD including the current year. Which drives home the point that any car could be made to look like a sport model at first glance *(yes, even paddle shifters can be added)* , but it takes a lot to create a true sport model. If all I wanted is the paddle shifters, then I'd be inclined to buy the easiest sport model to find. I have had a few people complain about the transmission shifting behavior, but I personally have no complaints. I use my paddle shifters or manual mode once in a while, but I find the automatic method very smart and in sync with my driving style. If I absolutely wanted/needed AWD, then I'd get that. The paddle shifters add a level of excitement, but are not necessary to drive the car, in my opinion.
@@EdBwoy yes paddle shifters are more icing on the cake. However I have not seen a single q70 awd with sport option that had paddle shifters. I'm thinking infinity eliminated that combo on the q70.
@@cyclonus01 there is a performance and appearance package that includes the wheels and brakes, nothing else. How are you certain that the Q70 you're looking at is a sport model?
