Nice to see a review on the M56. My father purchased a 2011 with the Sport Package in 2014 and still has it. Relatively low miles for the age too, 102K. Mentioned it was a challenge to find even back then! He’s only ever seen one other 56 on the road.
This is still the case! Extremely rarely and I've only seen one or two in the wild in my 8.5 years of owning mine! And there is like a handful on auto trader in the whole US last I checked. It's definitely a unicorn which is why I am keeping mine for a long long time.
@@FstLaneUkraineweird but I’ve seen at least a handful of m56’s in Maryland the past year, but in my area q50s, g37s and Infiniti suv’s are literally all over the place so maybe there’s just a lot of Infiniti’s in MD
What a beautiful car! I am on my 4th Infiniti (I35, M37, Q50h, Q70h), never had/have any problem with them, in particular, the upkeep of the cars are reasonable, and the maintenance parts are readily available and not very expensive. I am in agreement with you of the quality of the car, and it is a sleeper most of the folks probably have no idea about.
I do use premium and the car does state that it requires it. However, many M owners run all of the other octanes without much issue or so they say. But, IMO, why buy a V8 if you are going to penny pinch?
I tell you a little tip which I use on my cars for the rust bubbles, make sure use painters tape mask around the rust bubble or rust spot whatever you wanna call it then get a paper towel and put some nail polish remover on it and rub slowly till all the rust is gone, apply nail polish remover as you needed start with small amount. you might wanna use a power polishing tool later for blending if needed.
Look i love Infiniti.... But there's nothing still modern looking about their cars. Even their cars of just a few years back were outdated. The q50... Omg.
Hey there! Check this thread (the 2nd attempt): forums.nicoclub.com/howto-p0420-p0430-workaround-fix-m37-m56-q70-y51-t627166.html I documented it all there.
Hi Marc. The Tuners name is Joe and he can be contacted on NICOClub.com under the username 'seymore4'. As far as the Android system, I have a few videos on my channel reviewing when first installed and a year later. It is a GROM Audio VLine VL2 system.
Loved the video! Just a quick question, is the fuel economy bad since it has a V8 and a 5.6 L engine? I'm a student so I can only pay so much for gas LOL. And also what about the insurance rate.
@@FstLaneUkraine cool I’ll check them out! Do you know if the system would fit on the 07 m45? Bout to swap my taillights to the jdm version, looking to apple CarPlay next is possible
Hey there! I totally think it's worth it if you know the engine is in good condition. For example, I'm meticulous with my maintenance and recently did an oil analysis with Blackstone Labs which proves that my engine is healthy. If you know it's a good motor, I say go for it!
Have you ever used a spray carbon cleaner? And if so where did you spray it into?. I have 2011 and i get 26 to 27 on highway still with 125000. Miles. I sometimes get a bank 1 catalytic efficiency code but performance wise it has no lack of power so i think it maybe carbon buildup or o2 sensor. Thanks.
I have PPE long tube headers, one magnaflow cat on each manifold, full 2.5" ss piping, xpipe, no resonators, and valvetronic universal mufflers on my 2011 m56x. No CEL. Sounds insane with the valves open, and with the valves closed there's no drone and is relatively quite with the windows rolled up.
Ahh really? Good to know. If I end up doing the exhaust on this thing then I'll make sure it's done so it can be removed for possibly the next Q70 5.6 :).
Yep, works great. You'd have to check if it works for the newer Q70 but I don't think much changed between my 11 and the last Q70 that rolled off the line in 2019. Some of the best money I've spent on this car!
My 2013 xs is bone dry underneath (no leaks) barely any issues, love it, dont think i will ever let it go, thinking gtr swap whenever the engine goes or even if i upgrade to a q70 imma still call it an M70 🤣
They help keep the PCV a little cleaner which can only help. I got mine used so it wasn't a huge expense but to do it right, some people not find the benefit vs cost.
Nice! I replaced my lifter bucket even after they did it just for good measure but the one they put there still looked okay. You can find the guide on NICOClub.
Hey there! I think if you had all of the maintenance records, proof of the timing chain recall being done, and it was in overall great condition (have it inspected?) it would be a solid buy. Don't forget to check things like oil level before test drive (if car hasn't been running yet, etc.). I'm very happy with mine still!
@@QuikModsOBS I would possibly reach out to a local dealer and see if they have records of it having the recall. If they didn't have it done, I personally would probably stay away. Also, depending on when it was done, it may be time to replace the HPFP lifter bucket (search NICOClub.com for that info).
Hey man I want your opinion on buying an infiniti M56, I'm debating between Mercedes Benz CLS63/CLS55 AMG and infiniti M56, I know M56's legendry reliability VK56 which I owns 5 of them (mostly TITANS) so I know how strong the powertrain is, I know buying a CLS63/CLS55 could be a big risk when it comes to repairs. How would you compare them if you ever race with one of them.
I've never raced one or driven one but I did drive an SL63 AMG and I'd take my M56x over it. It was horrendous lol. I don't know how the SL compares to the CLS.
I had a 'fake' Muffler delete by virtue of my muffler pipes snapping (both of them) thanks to NY rust :). But I've since fixed them and they are attached again.
Yep, absolutely is illegal. You are correct. But in my experience in both NY and FL, cope don't care. Have never even been remotely asked about it while getting tickets for my side windows lol. Either they were blind or they just don't enforce that part...but I'll take it 😁.
I'm looking at an '11 m56-s but I had an '07 g35 sedan 6spd and it was the worst car I ever had so I'm scared of it. Had 3 Nissan's and loved them but the infiniti g35 was a nightmare
I'd say as long as it had maintenance records and the timing chain recall done, you should be okay. But yes, there are duds with all makes and models. I've been lucky and both my M35x and M56x have been nothing but reliable.
