Question, lets say we don't have a machine like the one in the video, can we use one of those little cans from auto zone or advance auto parts? Like where can we get a tool to measure how much refrigerant we have in our A/C system? Also, how to we put in compressor oil without using the machine if we don't have one. Great video by the way.

What could be a cause that will prevent the recirculating button to start working? The defroster works the air blows but it’s hot and the air recirculating button does not turn on

So his system was about halfway empty, what’s the cause of the loss of refrigerant ? Doesn’t that mean the system has a leak ? I have the same car and I think I’m low on refrigerant like the car in your video, Honda quoted me $140 to recover and diagnose my Ac and another 15-30 dollars for refrigerant required, does that sound correct ?
Same issue. 15 civic, 120k. Technically freon doesn't get used up because it's a fully sealed system, but leaks do happen. First step is to refill and see if it holds. If not, then tou refill with dyed gas and then you trace the leak. You can DIY before you dish out 1k on your ac system
@@vanillaglue yeah I paid $210 CAD for my 181k kilometres 2015 civic to have them diagnose and add refrigerant with dye, they said it all checked out and maybe a small bit of sweating from the crimp valve on the discharge hose, I only had 100 grams worth of refrigerant left in the system god damn! Hopefully I’m good for awhile
@@cavvvyr7021 i just figured out my ac clutch coil is gone. Maybe freon loss as well cos I don't know why it would be hissing. Thanks for sharing your process/costs
@@cavvvyr7021 i was mistaken. I bypassed it by running power to it directly from the battery (red to red) and it spins. Honestly, I don't know what to check next. Fuses seem fine, gotta see the relays. My dad knows how to use an electrometer so he checks all the stuff. I read you shouldn't top up refrigerant yourself using the cans. You have to measure by weight, and not pressure! I'll keep you posted if I figure it out.
