@@Richie-tn9wi i already changed my ford focus. the issue of transmission is still there. after 2weeks. now im using 2020 kia rio. and im so happy that i sell my ford focus hahahaha
FYI the TCM part gets replaced by Ford at no cost due to a law suit. 2025 is when it expires. Unfortunately, the replacement TCM part is back ordered forever. Some Focus and Fiesta cars with these failed TCM parts have been sitting on dealer lots for almost a year waiting for the “ free” part and labor.
Yeah he's definitely serious my TCM went out last year and no transmission repair shop would touch it. I found out later on that it was because of the class action lawsuit. But I luckily took it to the dealer and they replaced it without me paying a single penny. And my focus is a 2012 so at that time 11 years old.
Hey Mike- I just replaced the clutches and TCM update.....I also upgraded battery and sanded off paint on the ground/strut tower. My question is..........does a true fix/repair resolve the issues on this transmission? Thanks
Were you having electrical problems? I haven’t gotten any notice about a recall but my mechanic says there should be one, I’m getting all these electrical surges and loud feedback noises crackling on the radio etc. Any feedback or advice you may have I would be grateful
@@shelldaniel6412 The trans was my only issue. The ground fix "might" help. Below is another vid on the subject. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IL-KQ3tDl7E.html
Mine is 2016 SE. Weird but just changing turn signal bulb wasn't that simple. It was after I replaced low beam bulb it wasn't working the turn signal. Replaced it with new bulb still not working. So crazy idea try to reset it. Easiest reset is battery disconnect and reconnect it. That did it. Weird never had to do that with any other car..
You may want to check your low beam relay in the engine fuse box. Just changed pins in my fusebox and put a new relay in, now it works perfectly. What happened was the relay connection got super corroded and was causing my lights to turn off every once in awhile when driving.
NOT the battery spray. It will work into the connection over time. Use star washers between the cable and body, and coat with Caig Deoxit. This is a contact enhancer as well as anticorrosion. No I am not the Deoxit salesman. Or wipe some silicone or white grease on it.
Does anyone know how to see what devices have opened your 2013 Ford Focus? I have damage to my dashboard the very top piece where the windshield blower blows and a switched out rear bulb and the top part of my steering wheel is cut.
Okay so I need some help I have the automatic version and whenever I try to go in reverse it just won’t move but the car drives forward and I’m not sure if it’s the transmission or the fluid or
Have you ever had any of these DTC'S before doing this? P2831 P2832 P287B I have a 2013 Ford Focus SE and every two months or so those codes come on. And I wonder if this would help. Thanks
@@scottgibson7534 That isn't what I am asking. I know what the codes mean. I just wanted to know if you ever got those DTC's before and if you have maybe this will help fix it. If not then idk.
@@scottgibson7534 That is my post. I'm just wondering if you have ever had any of those codes and if this helped fix it? A simple yes or no would be a good answer.
VA766 no, i ended up trailering the car to PA where my brother could work on it at the Ford dealer he works for. Ended up needing clutches and tcm from Ford.
That TCM ended up being a recall item. Ford just replaced mine but they kept my car for six months due to "pandemic' supply chain issues. I hope it doesn't happen again.
My transmission was acting a little funny so i went in to get my tcm replaced for the 3rd time. It took a year to get the part in so i just kept driving it. Then a week after replacing i start getting this error and now they want to replace the transmission for $5k, saying the fluid was low and i destroyed my transmission so it's not covered now. Yeah i bet it has nothing to do with the tcm they just put in....
