@@DK4Code Yes...I paid 50k. 21k miles, distronic plus, sports package. The dealer had two other ones for less but they were not as loaded and had higher mileage.
@@legendaryx2089 I traded it in for a Chevy Tahoe 2 years ago because I needed a larger vehicle. I regret not keeping my MB. I didn't really have to trade it in, and it was not giving me any problems and I miss having it. Bottom line, hang on to it.
Thank you for such a thorough, outspoken review. I love this quote: "This isn't a car you get a grin from driving; it's a car you get get a grin from being SEEN in." Brilliant stuff! Any cars that you would say a person would get a grin BOTH from driving and being seen in?!
Oh hell no the CLS wishes it was as good as the CL the CLS is known for shitty reliability back in 2008 while the CL got remodelled in 2007 and was completely fine. I get a service bill just by looking at a CLS anyway im going of topic the 1 tiny reason that makes the CL look way nicer is the frameless doors. The CLS is a wannabe S class and CL which separated is a beautiful pair of mercs but combined is a total pile of shite
7:18 rear view camera, "outta be stock".. i have died of laughter,.. doctors brought me back but then i remembered and passed again... then in my afterlife i died because that afterlife had it stock and it reminded me of this video but then i got brought back by doctors but then i remembered once again and passed again...
The purpose of his videos are to review the technological aspects of the vehicles such as the navigation, lane departure and such, and so on. That's why he always says "Check the Tech"
@Michael7477 Sir, I must tell that your comment is absolutely spot on! That On/off power feel (judder) that create discomfort to him is mainly because this car requires a loong stretch of road without limits, like the German Autobahn, in which this car was originally designed for. There's a CLS350 in Europe which I think is more suitable for American roads with lesser speed limits.
@theballinmaster I would hope NIssan does follow suit, and adds a hybrid system to their vehicles as well. The only problem with putting Infinitis hybrid system in a Nissan is. The Infiniti hybrid system is as of now only build for cars with real wheel drive. Most Nissian vehicles are front wheel drive. So they have to do some engineering to fit that system in a front wheel drive vehicle. I'm sure eventually you will see Nissan hybrids, I believe in Nissan they did build the Leaf and GTR.
For some reason, I have the exact same brake sound problem as well as a weak garage control sensor, but id have to say the rest of the S550 is pure quality.
It is a great design, BUT from my experience, I own 2010 E350 and 2007 S550. Both have the same problem with their 722.9 transmission. I changed the valve body for the 350e then sold it last month. I still suffering with the S550. Regarding the breaks, it makes annoying sound most of the times and I have to clean the wheels rims many times a week because of the break dust. For further information, Google " Mercedes Benz quality problems" or "Mercedes Benz 722.9 transmission" Thanks
I don’t understand your ranting about throttle response. I’ve owned 2 of these cars and they were both smooth as silk. Your head getting yanked back and forth is called horespower. I doubt any owner would tell you that hp wasn’t a major attraction to the car. So, any of us, who own one, look forward to having our necks snapped. Enjoy it. Don’t complain about one of the prominent features. That’s why we buy them.
@ivacls77 I hate when car manufactures put so much emphasis on making their lineup all look the same. The old CLS was unique, and now, as you said, it is just one of the many
From a nissan guy, I have a R32 skyline and now a z as well, My friend has this CLS550 and the ride is great for a luxury car, i do love it I am not going to lie, but for the money? I would much rather have a m3 or Lexus IS-F but a great car non the less
I have noticed one thing common in all of your videos and that is, most part of the video usually talks about the Navigation System only.I guess there are some other important things in a car to talk about.
@OneOfaKind949 Since Infiniti is Nissan's luxury brand, do you think that Nissan can also use the same hybrid technology, like the Infiniti, for the future Altima Hybrid and Sentra Hybrid? It would actually be cool putting the electric motor in between the engine and CVT transmission. Then it will get crazy fuel mileage!
If no can afford a 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS 550, including the base, then you can wait for the 2012 Audi A7. It's got and eight speed automatic transmission, MMI, a turbocharged 3.0 V6 engine with Quattro AWD, and has a base price of $60,000. Add $20,000 in options and you have an $80,000 car with the best-looking car that compete with the CLS 550!
Im from vancouver too. TBH, theres quite alot of Lambo's and AM's around. Especially around Granville and RICHMOND. Not to mention the amount of BMW's and Benzes. I'm pretty sure your friend is just good with women in general. I guess the CLS may help but its not like the women will leave to a guy with a Lambo just cause he has a Lambo.
@ivacls77 screwed up?? Buddy, all i have to say is go take a look at one in actuality, I felt the same about this car until i saw a black one parked today all by itself. unbelievable, i mean everyone was taking pictures
well ita considered a luxury car here (vancouver, Canada) and i dont see ppl in lambo or ferrari even bother to look at other ppl... but then again i am not sure what your idea of sport car is a nissan Z350 , mustang , camaro ? well to be honest they dont have much to say.
@BlueMoon858 compare the todays hybrids from, lets say japan, with diesel engines from german carmakers. hybrids are a wast of rare earth compounds and enviroment unfriendly chemicals shipped togetter from all around the globe to poisen people when they get scrapped. a VW bluemotion polo gets more mpg than a hybrid prius. hybrids are made for the american marked because all they whant to hear is "hybrid" because it sounds good.
This guy reminded me why you shouldn't pick a car based on a CNET review. This is worth a try if you want o buy a vacuum cleaner or some Tesla appliance, lol.
Your are complaining about the car hunting gears. SMH. It's for fuel economy. If you want spirited driving, why don't you try the sport mode. This car is the best of both sir.
