I do wish that it came with some of the features I noticed on the Euro spec models like the racing seats, LED taillights, and the rear camera that pops out of the vw symbol-but I know it was an effort to cut down the cost. i ordered a eurospec R, 5 months ago! rear led's, recaro's, dsg and ofcourse with 270 hp :) in 2 days it will be in my hands! FINALLY!!!! oh, great review by the way! you have shown stuff i didn't know they existed in the car hehe

The Golf-R is so incredibly upscale inside, it's incredibly nice. The leather seats are so comfortable and supportive, they're so much better than other interiors of other vehicles. The dual zone, automatic climate control is another wonderful feature that you won't find on other machines. The Dynaudio stereo system alone is well worth the money. Dynaudio is every bit as good as Bang & Olufsen. The stereo sounds better than other "high-end" systems that cost twice as much. You'll love it!

itsHeadsUpDisplay: Yes, you can turn off the traction control. There's a button specifically for that in the console, just ahead of the shifter. You can also use that button to turn off the stability control, but that requires recoding the ABS controller to ROW settings.

Yes, the button is right there next to the gearshift. The XDS (cross differential stability) stays on, but that's great because it keeps the inside wheels from spinning.

I agree, the LED taillights look great. I'm not sure why they didn't bring them to the US. The parts can be ordered and installed making for a more unique R here in the States.

@FrogmanINDK The LED taillights are the Euro Spec lights. The American customer doesn't get the cool LEDs without getting them aftermarket.

I ordered the exact same model down to the Carbon Steel gray metallic color. My reasoning was the same as yours, it provides a minor contrast to the piano black. It arrives here in Virginia 1st or 2nd week of April. Thanks for showing me how to use my new car. I wonder if my mountain bike will fit in the back?

The rising blue metallic is definitely still available. You should expect about a four month wait at this point if you order today. Be sure to order soon! The Golf - R is only available this model year and most dealerships are nearly out of allocation for the car. If you don't get your order in soon you will not be able to place one. You can order from me if you wish. :)

The Golf R LED tail lights are available aftermarket.

That is a bit of a pity, yes. Although you do get the Amarok pickup truck, unless I am mistaken. We don't get that, sadly.

Yes. Being a high-end car they figure you should get what you pay for and have luxurious appointments along with the performance.
