Is Insignia OPC the best Opel ever to be made? This car is insane. Yes, Insignia OPC is not the fastest, or the most powerful sedan from the class, but it has such an amazing character! #POV #Autobahn #InsigniaOPC
@@saas675 I would like to know why Comments are so different in Terms of the Automatic Gearbox.. What's your opinion about it that it's terrible? Is it Slow in Gear changes? Upshift or Downshift?
I have a Insignia OPC sportstourer (yes is a station wagon). I think is the perfect sleeper car. There are some SUV Porsche owner still crying out can confirm ;)
do you or any of you have some information on its upkeep? I checked a non OPC 2.8 v6t tourer for a decent price (my other option is a 5 years older Accord Type S wagon, for barely less)
Would like to know if this Transmission Change Gears itself when you have it in Manual Mode once you Reached 6.500 RPM? And does it Change Gears Faster then it would be with a Manual Transmission?
the most important thing - AUTOMATIC GEARBOX SUCK....... manual transmission has ~6s 0-100. when you bying OPC you need to buy manual version if you want pretty quick car
Have you ever worked on those cars ? The Aisin AW80-SC was specifically designed for cramped engine bays. The transmission is only 14 inches long. I doubt a DSG would have fit. Of course a manual transmission is better. And it was available ! So if the owner decide to buy the automatic version, he gets a very, very robust, miniature 6 speed auto. The Manual version was slightly cheaper and a DSG option, if doable, would have been easily 2 to 3 grand more. This is not a sports car, this is a rushed gentleman saloon.
In America we never got the 2.8 we got the Buick Regal gs which is the same car as this opel. It had a 2.0 ecotec 4 pot pushing 259 horsepower and 295 pound foot of torque.
Its actually 275hp I believe . I have a 13 regal gs. Would love a tune for it. Especially since it will get rid of the boost limiting in 1st gear. It can boogie alright for a 2.0. Beautiful looking and handling car. Of course right after I bought mine....a manual trans one popped for sale by me. Grrr.
When the OPC if stock, then it is not the fastest car, but if you do tuned that, then it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing like my OPC...It´s an amazing and powerful car.
Stage 2 brings it upto about 400 HP which is pretty decent. Automatic transmission is a holdback though. With a DSG auto or a manual transmission 400 HP would make much more difference in 0-100 time. Still pretty quick after 160 Km/h and a monster after 200 Km/h 👍
@@almatt8310 You can easily forget 400 hp in Stage 2. This is not possible. The original turbocharger is not designed for the performance. And on top of that, a whole lot of hardware such as downpipe, intercooler, etc. has to be replaced. Not to mention the higher fuel pressure. Most have no idea about tuning. They hear something and think that would work then...
Electronic suspension adjustable in three levels, OPC has a harder third setting than the standard models. The suspension is connected to the gearbox, the four-wheel drive, the engine and the steering, everything can be changed with a button in the way you want, it is programmable. In addition, in OPC mode the instrument lighting becomes red, Insigna was the first car that could change the color of the instruments.
I have this car and max I achieved was 255 km/h on Unlimited facelift version with automatic gearbox (everything stock). Now, I am not an expert in driving or tuning but I suppose it can never reach the 300 mark.
@@MrRohanThomas I've got the facelift opc with automatic and after remapping to stage 1 (365 hp) it is a much quicker car and also doesn't burn as much fuel as it did before. The automatic holds more torque than the manual without mods.
@@muldix No it isn't, but it's much more reliable. I still own one and it's the general consensus among the Vectra community. My father in law owns a insignia and it's just crap, many things have failed on it.
@@stiggyness1976 I have Insignia, 1.6 turbo sport tourer though, 180 hp. I wanted something spacey for family but also something a bit faster and fun to drive than usual family cars. So I choose Insignia, it looked good, small motor but it's got a good punch when you hit the gas pedal. 208 thousand kilometers by now, not even a lightbulb got broken yet. Usual maintenance and good care and nothing fails. Last time I had a general maintenance mechanic said engine is as good as it had only 60 thousand kilometers and I can definitely hope to drive it up to 500k if I keep maintaining it. So where does these fairy tales come from about insignia and some failures?? I have the fucking car, why does it never fail or break? Maybe because I treat it well and maintan properly? Maybe because opel actually makes good engines but it just is not so popular among masses.
@@muldix you don't need 4x4 to put 280hp (vectra opc) to the ground , some sticky tires and knowing how to launch a car with high power output on one axle does the trick also, 1513kg is very light for such a massive estate( 4.87 meters) ;) results in
I never drove a car more stable and comfortable at the same time in my life. Not even Mercedes e class which is double the price had that balance when I test drove it. Even the interior looks premium for the price. Everything is soft to the touch, good looking, silver chrome trims and that steering wheel is one of the best and most comfortable ones to handle. I love my Insignia and I will keep it as long as it stays this healthy, at 208 thousang kilometers nothing ever broke to this day, just good maintenance and care and you get a premium car at half the price. People buy expensive cars just so that they can have that premium brand on the hood. Well I don't buy car for others but for myself so Insignia all the way.
This car is slower then passat with only 240 hp,because Insignia is very heavy for her class, and dont forget very troublesome haldex in Insignia,if you have manual also F40 is very bad gerabox, there is for money same much better choices
@@erolzaimovic7631 I am not talking about this specific car but Insignia in general, few people have some issues due to maybe factory fault or maybe even their own lack of maintenance or care. I drive front wheel drive not awd, but it goes up hill in this winter amd I live in the village on a hill and its a very steep road in some places to my house, but I drive uphill with no problems and SP system is as good as it can be, no slippage or even if it slips on the snow it stabylizes within a second. great ballance for the front wheels to pull the weight of the car uphill. Manual is great, very easy to shift, actually I love the way when I pus the stick in gear half was and it goes right in the rest of the way on its own. Or when I upshift fast from second to third I just push it twice froward it levels perfectly dont even need to grab the stick, you can do it with just an open palm of your hand, it goes right where it si supposed to go. 1 to 4 is easy as pie, the 5 th is a little too far right and needs to be pressed a bit harder to the right and up, but I don't mind because if Im shifting to the fifth I am not accelerating or overtaking or anything, I don't have to rush it. And as I said 208 kilometers so far and not even a lightbulb got broken. With regular maintenance and care the car is just so reliable and comfortable to drive I realy love it. I didn't drive OPC however I cannot say anything specific but It is same car with some changes right? I mean it almost looks like my 1.6 turbo sport Insignia
@@mudza92 well said i have Astra 1.4 turbo with only 120 hp and today i was with my friends on the highway i went against bmw116 and my car was faster than his i was so surprised, and everyone that says Opel isn't good car they are lying. i am about to switch top Astra opc just to have 2.0L turbo with 280hp
Stock has 8s to 100 and 30+ to 200, kinda slow average 3.0diesel is faster, even fwd citroen c5 with classic converter automatic gearbox and just 240HP foes 200 in 26s
@@muldix in opc mode esp off , with esp its 8s dead, kind of dissapointing compared to other cars, my fwd daily diesel 2.0 225KM does 100 in 8s with esp on, because i dont often turn it off
@@mateuszkozik1166 we have the exact same car (only with 300hp so 25 hp less) and it is around 7 seconds. I know it is heavy (look at the crash tests than you know why) 😊
@@gipsyboy49 no, there is no way. 325 hp is much faster than 250 hp after 140kph. Therefore, you also need to know that the Opel Insignia is a D-class limusine car that is much heavier than a VW Golf, and is a C-class city car that is much lighter.
@@Solider the r32 is heavier or ass heavy as the insignia the golf weight is around 1580kg so its heavy but with the dsg the golf is fasteer then the insignia. my causin got the insigina and i got an r32 and i am faster than him.
