I would suggest that you add to remove that plastic bottom plate. I didnt and mine was slightly misaligned so I had coolant come out of everywhete till I got it off in a hurry haha but appreciate the step by step it worked flawlessly

You are correct in everything of what you say however you can use test trips to properly check the cooling to see if it's acidic, we have a 2017 Nissan Rogue going on 5 years and I tested the coolant and it's still good.

That's a very good point! At the same time coolant change is done for a variety of reasons. I'll just paste some information here. Coolant flushes remove rust and scale deposits, which build up over time. It’s important to get rid of these deposits because they can cause overheating and damage your entire cooling system. The new anti-freeze contains additives that work to lubricate your automobile’s water pump, which can help extend the life of your water pump. The additives in the new anti-freeze also help prevent rust from building up in the water pump, which allows the cooling system to operate more efficiently. Over time, the old anti-freeze loses its anti-corrosive properties, which allows for contaminants to build up in the cooling system. Getting a coolant flush will completely clean these particles from the system. When you get a coolant flush, it is also common to receive an inspection of your entire cooling system including the thermostat, radiator and all hoses and belts. This is beneficial because it checks for leaks and other potential problems. Getting a coolant flush will prevent the old anti-freeze from becoming acidic. This is important because once it starts to become acidic it will break down and can damage the bearing in the water pump, the rubber hoses and the aluminum components of the engine.

@@justdoityourself So true. I know some people who say to just use water. That would be great and all but those dimwits don't realize that water boils too easily. Before we had the myriad of different coolants we do today there was water with alcohol added to prevent freezing in cold weather. Then there is the green stuff we may have all seen before. Why didn't they just stick with water and alcohol might some people wonder. It was because in some months the alcohol would boil or evaporate out. Also back in those days they never realized the need for better chemistry. That only began when the green stuff came out and we could go and buy it for our cars and trucks. In those days green was the only universal coolant but now these days that stuff will react with newer coolants and make a mess in the cooling system you will always remember.

I like to do a radiator drain/fill around every 5 years regardless of miles. I figure fresh fluid, fresh additives. I did my 2017 Accord sport radiator drain/fill with Honda 50/50 in 2021 with around 50K miles just because I wanted too. The fluid may be good for 100K miles plus like they say but I will never know. Every 5 years for me and I could care less what others say

I wonder if it is the same radiator on a 2017 Rogue Sport SV. More and more what they do these days is make it so you have to take the lower radiator hose off. They make it a pain to do so you feel like you can't do it yourself. Or at least that seems to be how they are thinking. I gotta get that bottom panel off and see. If I do find a drain plug, I will feel pleasantly surprised. I know on the CVT they at least left a tube for a dipstick. Are there any conventional automatic transmissions that have the tube but no dipstick in it? As unreliable as some automatics are, that would be a very nice thing to have. They only call them sealed units because they don't have an easy way for us to check the fluid. That just shows they don't really give a rat's @ss about us and having to buy a new vehicle or transmission sooner!

Most of rads have a drain valve. Some got plugged, some break, some impossible to reach to, but they should be there.

bottom hose does not get hot the top one does but my car is blowing hot air? How do I know if my system is fully bled?

Bottom hose is the return from the radiator to the engine. So it will always be colder then the top hose. Just run the vehicle for like 30 minutes, make sure engine temperature stays within limits (does not go too high) and with higher RPMs the radiator fan clicks in: this should happen when coolant temperature is going higher than 90 degrees C. Let the engineer fully cool down, usually that helps to get rid of air too.If everything is good there should not be any air in the system.

Nice vid. Something else to keep in mind is when you are filling the rad through the rad opening have your reserior cap off that helps the air escape looks like yours might have been on while refilling great Chanel.

Do not worry too much about air. It will come out the same way it got in. The worst case scenario I had- after vehicle was getting too hot (thermostat would not open because of the air) I left it for a night to cool down, next morning there was no air in the system. :). Also the funnel is cheap.

Does it have to be lifted can it just be leveled? Also can a siphon pump be used if you don’t have a compressor?

Leveled is perfectly fine, might be even better. Using compressed air is good but not critical. Siphon pum probably won't do much.

Does we need to bleeding the bubble from the cooling system or we just flush all the old coolant out then refill it?

Yes, the system needs to be bled. Having said that it usually does require much effort, most of the time air escapes on its own.

I have a 2014 Nissan Roque with 125k km, do I need to change the colant now? The temperature shows normal and the manual says 156k km or 7 years....its kinda 8 years now

@@TSA333 You are very welcome!Transmission fluid is one of the most critical fluids in a car after engine oil. It not only lubricate transmission, but cools it down and shifts the gears. I usually do fluid change every 50,000 km on my vehicles, and would not recommend anyone to do more than 100,000 kms.

@@justdoityourself changes both this morning! The car is running much better, Mr Lube told me to change transmission fluid every 90k and coolant every 4-5 years. Yesterday the car didn't switch the gears and had specific noise when pressing gas
