My neighbor has the same exact issue with his gas cart, and he can not figure out what it is, so I told him today I would look on you tube today to find a video covering this issue and I found your video, and he has been dealing with this issue for awhile to the point he no longer wanted to use the cart, but I am determined to get to the problem, he has major health problems and can not work on the cart, so I will fix it for him, and this seems like a easy fix, so grateful for this video, Thank you!
Thank you Kevin... I have had this issue for a year... Checked everywhere... Very rarely on a gas cart they mention this hidden relay... I almost sold it.....
Its a simple double-pole, double-throw switch. Every cart, gas or electric has one in some form. I'm glad you found it. These carts are going to start showing this issue now that they have been out for a while.
Does the EH 29 C Robin have the same switch? I've replaced everything, set the valves, nothing worked. It still sputters and cuts off. Very frustrating.
LOL ,I have replaced almost all the electrical and now you show me this. Mine is doing the exact same thing so I guess it's my turn , But at least I do believe this is the problem this time.
Hey Kevin, hello from Newfoundland Canada. Sounds like a similar problem my 2002 TXT EZ-GO is having. Generally on cool or damp morning my cart 100% of the time will run but not move. I will check that out. Thank you!!
Have an '09 RXV gas. Followed video and ordered part w/o pigtail. Doesn't fit. Need one with wires attached. Reordering tonight. Haven't had any problems with cart since I got it in 2013. Now, its one problem after another. Btw. Symptom was starter continued to turn over after key off and removed and cart at standstill. Quickly killed a fully charged battery. Hope this is all that's wrong. Or I might push it off in the Suwannee River and start over. Thanks for the videos.
Good afternoon, Gary here, I am 74 years old and got a 91 gasoline Club Car about 10 days ago, to help me get around. Well yesterday the foot pedal stuck down, lifted it up with my toe, hardly slowed it out, brakes helped a bit, turned key off, it still running, grabbed a brick placed in front of rear tyre pulled the seat up and pulled the spark plug wire, to get it to stop. Need your advice as to fix and a few instructions how to. THANK YOU for your time
Good afternoon, I have a 2011 rxv and been having some issues. I always have to pull the choke out so I can start moving even after it’s wormed up. I don’t want to bring it back to the dealer, as I got ripped off royally! I brought it in for the same issue you resolved on this video and he he tried to charge me $1800 for cleaning the carb adjusting clutch breaks and installing that switch! That was just labour. My cart never had this issue before, only once I got it back from the dealer
They must have not cleaned the carb or more debis or moisture made its way back to the carb. There's possibly a ripped gasket between the air box and engine.
Hello Kevin. What kind of “Body Panel Removal Tool” are you using? It looks like it works great. I’m currently using a staple removal tool to pry under the rivet and use a screw driver as a fulcrum to pry up the rivet. Your tool looks much faster, and easier. Really do appreciate your videos, I’ve learned quite a few “tricks” to service golf carts. Thank you Sir, keep up the good work.
Hello, I have a 2014 Rxv ezgo. We were going up a hill and cart quit. I followed your troubleshooting from video. I hear solenoid click when I turn on key. I also have buzzer when I put in reverse. Voltages look good at solenoid. At foot pedal switch I have 48v on red wire and 0 Voltage on green wire. It does make a slight noise like it wants to go when depressing pedal. On the accelerator position sensor I have 5v on orange wire 0v on black and 0 on yellow. When I push pedal to floor I have 5v on orange and 5v on yellow. 0v on black. I thinking maybe it's accelerator switch, but not sure. What's your opinion?
Hey how's it going have asked u several questions before all ur advice was on point an has helped out to the point where I finally got my 1985 club car ds running again want thank u for ur videos.ok recently my cart has a problem again problem now is the cart will run great sometimes this happens 5 mins into riding it or sometimes it runs perfectly till I stop an it sits but what's going on mostly is you be riding all of the sudden it just dies shuts down like I let off gas sometimes it start right back up an go for awhile other times it has to cool off do you think it's the ignition coil or could it be solenoid if noticed the solenoid is not clicking as loud as it was and is only maeby 6 months old if replaced all micro switches before this happen ran good for about 4 months if noticed since it started getting hotter the problem started run fine all winter might not have ntn yo do with it all any advice much appreciated thanks hope to hear back from u cause I know u know the problem or at least you have been right about everything else.
Its possible the ignition coil is starting to fail. I don't work on a lot of the side valve engines so I can't say for sure. You can easily check the solenoid with a volt meter. Negative probe on negative battery post, use the positive probe to test both sides of the large terminals on the solenoid. With the accelerator pedal pressed, you should have battery voltage on both large terminals.
Hi , Great Videos, I recently picked up a 2016 EZGO TXT and i am having a problem with it continuing to "idle" after taking my foot off the gas pedal, barely enough for the cart to move. If you press the pedal and release it then it usually shuts off. could this switch cause this problem ? please let me know if you have a chance. Thanks
Same exact thing on my 13 RXV I tried replacing the switch. Switch one had a 4 plug trailer connections and not the OEM plug and different color wires. Switch #2 had exact same plug connection. But the switch plunger is a half inch shorter and still won't turn cart off because it can't reach the pedal. I can't solve your problem. But can tell you don't order anything non OEM and make sure it looks exactly the same.
Hey kevin i just bought a ezgo rxv few days ago and was runing fine, i did a oil change ,spark plugs and air filter and yesterday car start doing loud back fired when i push gas pedal any idea what could be ? Will appreciate your help 👌
I think I am having this problem on a 2004 EZ Go cart. It dies if you feather the throttle at low speeds and then goes no crank-no start. After it sits a while it fires up and runs like nothing happened. Battery is good, new fuel pump, fuel filters, air filter and spark plugs. I thought about the starter/generator but there are no clicks going on when it's dead and I turned over the motor by hand, no help. Valves adjusted to .005. Am I looking in the right place to fix this cart?
You need to test the solenoid with a multimeter. Negative lead to the negative of the battery or chassis. Use the positive lead and check for voltage on the small terminals of the solenoid. One side should be 12v and other will read 0 since its ground. If you have power, and the solenoid isn't clicking, replace it.
Kevin, my RXV Electric with Intelabreak Will not move. When I turn the key to the reverse, neutral, forward positions you can hear something clicking into place near the motor However it will not want to move. The battery indicator is at full charge. I have replaced the key switch which I thought would be the problem but I’m still having issues. Do I keep throwing parts at it or do you have a resolution? Thank you
My golf cart was running fine then died and couldn’t figure out why-I replaced the micro switch, because seems like that was my issue but didnt change anything-whenever I cross the terminals on top of the solenoid it will go to start the engine but the engine won’t actually fire off perfect I believe this means the internals in the solenoid is bad since it’s not sending the power to the starter? Is there anything else I should check?
@@Landoboy01 I ended up bypassing the ignition module and wired it with a GM ignition and its worked great since! Ill find a video that I used to do it-I kept my stock starter solenoid/plugs/coils.
My ezgo rxv just had that switch go bad and I replaced it but now it won't start just turns over. The magneto has fire with the wire going to it but no fire when the wire is plugged in. Any suggestions on what it could be?
This switch has 2 circuits, one for the starter, the other for ignition. When you press the pedal, it closes the circuit to crank the engine and opens the shorting circuit to the ignition coil. The opposite happens when you let off the pedal. It sounds like the ignition circuit is staying shorted and the switch is bad. You can test this with a multimeter in Ohms.
