2014 F-150 Front Brakes
Chris, from 723-Productions , asked me to give his F-150's brake system a freshen-up. He picked up some new, good quality Rotors and Brake Pads for his Rust Belt Beast. This video is just the front brakes portion of the total service.
I install the new parts, giving SPECIAL ATTENTION to the differences that the Salt Belt makes on a brake system! A little Iron Oxide can turn a really nice brake job, into a total disaster in under a year! ALL MOVING PARTS MUST MOVE WITH MINIMAL RESISTANCE!
(If you're HAMMERING your brake pads in.... HOW are they supposed to move???)
If you have the time to do the job, do it thoroughly! Follow along and see why a brake job is a whole different service, when the vehicle gets exposed to SALTED ROADS!.

Auto repairs for the "Do-it-yourself" mechanic... These "HOW-TO" videos, that help show viewers the details of what is involved in a specific repair... some do's and don'ts, as well as a variety of tips to make the repair easier. I do most, if not all repairs, with tools that I carry around in my overloaded 1997 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I perform "On-Site" braking and suspension repairs, amongst other diagnostics and services. My tools consist mostly of Craftsman, a few Stanley, Snap-On, Husky, Pittsburgh, and S&K tools. Scan tools include hand held Actrons, DVOMs, and test lights. I also currently use a Zurich ZR Pro, for advanced and bidirectional diagnostics as well as a Snap-On Verus Pro, for more detailed diagnostics. I'm always expanding my collection, based on need and convenience.

It is incredible how everything deuterates so fast, the time and effort to cleaning and prep the brackets I think is overlooked by many shade tree's. Never thought of using never seize under the clips, going to try that next time. Watched you push out the old fluid from the caliper but think I misses you bleeding the system. Good video as always and keep the tips and tricks coming.

After completing the rear brakes, and before pushing the brake pedal to set the pistons, I used a turkey baster to remove all of the old brake fluid from the master, and refilled with new fluid.. The only old fluid left in the system was what was in the lines.
