Thank you sir. Your good deed does not go unnoticed. Because of you alot of people tackle auto projects ,that would otherwise be intimidated by the thought of the task alone . But with your guidance we get it done . Great video .
Very fun to watch with your commentary & tips as you put the camera in most easily viewable places! I appreciate all the hard work you put into making this vid!
Great video. I'm looking at a civic that supposedly needs a transmission replaced. Looks like a fairly easy project for myself and son. Thanks for the great video.

My 2014 LX trans just died on me at 219k. I bought the car with 20k 7 years ago. I did all the fluid changes in the trans regularly. So disappointed. Happy Easter to me
No, they didn't blunder. They don't want their new Civics lasting as long as the old ones. As long as they last through the warranty period, Honda is fine with that.
they do it because they need to meet fuel economy requirement. All manufactures use CVT in their small vehicles nowadays. Pick 2012 thru 2013 Civic, they have conventional transmission.
And all we hear is that only Nissan's CVT's get broken. If you don't change the fluid, and do it right, by using original fluid and doing the level check correctly (which most people does't know how to do it) ANY CVT won't last longer, either it is a Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, etc.
Great video man. Always cool to see how other people take to their own work by themselves. Always scary....because im afraid the transmission would fall on me. Surprised to see at 19:08 thst the torque converter takes about 0.5qt. I know older ones can store up to 7qt for the typical automatics.
We have a 2015 and change the trans fluid regularly but never have done the fluid warm filter or the filter down in the pan the car had 155k would you recommend replacing the filter?
Hi I have a Honda civic ex 2014 that I believe the transmission blew. I drove it and it blew up with smoke and no gears were working. Trans oil was everywhere. Whats the major difference from a CVT to a non CVT transmission? I bought one from a salvage yard but it does no seem to look the same as my CVT trans, maybe i bought a non CVT so im asking for help.
Hey buddy i have honda civic 2015 cvt transmission Can you please tell me because my transmission is slipping alot and it needs to be changed can i install 5 speed AT transmission in place of cvt ?
My 15 just went out at 90k with atf change at 80k. Felt a minor vibration from a stop light start and boom it disengaged. Already got a replacement but unfortunately don't have any of your skills. Idea on how much I should spend on labour?
@@alltsab where do you live? I have a 15'; buy you case of beer or help you on parts for anything you need as I work part-time at O'Reillys, and help you do the work as well, lol :) Otherwise I will be doing it by myself once I find a transmission with acceptable milage on it of course
Thanks because my brother has the same vehicle and after he replaced his transmission fluid , 190,000 miles 200 miles into it all lights started coming on , jerking and clunking …. Probably time for a new cvt
I see, trying to make this video not too long to boring some other people. I know not everyone have the same level skill. Thanks for leaving a good comment 👍
@@alltsab sir one thing ive learn out of this video is taking the battery tray out. I remember i couldnt take the coolant reservoir because the tray was in the way. Im no mechanic, but i always take & learn something good just watching repair videos. I subscribed. Thank you sir.
@@alltsab I have a 2013 accord with cvt that has 160k..did fluid changes as recommended…I baby it because I don’t know much about cvt longevity in Hondas…
@@donovanfahrbach2493 it's doesn't broke all the time and doesn't have limits how many miles it will go wrong as long as you don't abuse it that should last couple hundred thousand.
Did you have to have the transmission recalibrate at the dealer? I bought one from Fenix autoparts and that's what is stated for their 6 mo th warranty
I just finished most of the install, had a hard time finding the right trans filter, ended up going removing and installing from the top. Took the same amount of time though. Just waiting on new axle seals and trans filters and gaskets and we will see if all is good.
