2014 Yamaha Phazer XTX Snowmobile Review 

Thank you not judging sleds based on what you would have the most fun on, that's so great to hear. That's why I love your reviews, just stating facts about what an average rider may or may not like about it and you keep it positive in given the knowledge that there's really not much to complain about on newer sleds. The John Deere 400 I grew up on, now there's a sled deserving of some serious criticism.

I am 38 and 235LBS and ride a Phazer MTX. I have been riding sleds since I can remember, we own a 71 Scorpion Stinger 2 that has been in the family since 72. The Phazer MTX 500 is one sweet sled and can handle almost anything except for making the high mark unless you turbo it then you will destroy much larger sleds. As for beginner sled, I think not. It is very nimble, has a tremendous amount of low end grunt for a light weight sled and because of the narrow ski stance and 14" wide track it is quite tipsy for a unseasoned rider. Like I said above I have been riding my whole life and so have most of my friends ( which have big bore sleds) they love my MTX, its a boondocking king. Im installing a turbo this year which will make my 400LBS sled a mini monster to contend with. I haven't found any other sled that can keep up with me in in the deep while riding the trees. I highly recommend the Phazer MTX.

If you are a motocross or enduro rider the phazer is the sled you will like. Knees are under your hips like on a dirt bike. We backcountry deep powder. You need skills and balance to keep this little sled on top of snow. More like a stand up jet ski to balance in deep snow. I have 9000 miles on my 09 and it's still going another 9000 ez The lighter 2strokes are shot at 3000 miles at 3x the price. Slightly used good 09-14 phazer 144s are $3to$4k. I'm 6ft 1in 275lbs. It's a perfect do all recreation sled for families without $15,000 to blow on one RMK.

Low on HP or not, I bet it's a blast to ride and super easy to throw around!

My brother and I have one and my dad has a viper and all I have to say is my dad wishes he bought a phaser the torque of the bat even beats the vipers and the phazer handles like a king and allows for a lot of fun because of the light weight style you can throw it around and obv the top end suffers but up to like 80 ish mph us accelerates very well and I have had it up to 91 but it maxes somewhere in the 90s

I'd like to see this beast have a Stout turbo on it!

so it would make a good powder sled on flat land areas about a foot deep because its so light?

I like this machine I think I buy 1 for my son next winter its bullet proof easy on fuel not to much top speed . I have the new viper xtx love the engine works well/

it would be so cool if they put a turbo on these

I had the 121" gt phazer. I think it was a 2007. Engine was fun but I hated that sled

at 3:03 you said "if you think about what's going on in that motor" your wrong it's an engine it's gas powered which means it's an engine of it was powered by Electricity it would be a motor

They need to make them in 800 hunds or 600 or 700

The most boring sled ive ever tried. I´d legit rather have 550 2-stroke. You have absolutly no power at all.

Tippy and ride terrible. Strictly a kids sled.
