In this video I review a 2014 Yamaha Stryker XVS1300. This Yamaha has the best of both worlds, raked out chopper styling and Yamaha durability. This was a blast to ride and film and was probably the coolest looking bike I have had the pleasure of filming on the channel!

What do you think of this Yamaha XVS1300 Stryker? Also, what is your favorite motorcycle brand?

Good Lord that's a gorgeous bike.... I've been trying to decide what my next bike is going to be and I've been debating on putting this in the mix. Well, it is now in the mix and is probably at the top of the list

I ride the Stryker's daddy, the V Star 1300. With a few mild mods, it is a mid-12 second bike and tops out near 140 MPH. Durable and reliable...one of the best midsize V-twin powerplants on the market. The only thing about the engine I dislike is poor off-idle fueling compared to some others.

Never been on a V-star but if it's faster than the Stryker then I want to drive 1 for sure because I own a dang near flawless 2011 all blacked out and chrome 1300 Stryker and she's VERY QUICK like no lie.. 2 little crotch rockets thought I would be easy Pickens a few weeks ago on the interstate and I completely left both of them in the dust I just really wish that they would've put a dang 6th gear on the Stryker because It honestly needs it because once you get up to about 80 + mph,the engine runs,rides and sounds really, really rough. Not sure if you know what I'm talking about with the Stryker doing that at them speeds or not but it's not a bad thing I just hate hearing it sound so rough and like it needs to shift into the next gear but there isn't 1. Lol. That's literally the only flaw the Stryker has if you ask me and they for sure should've put in a 6th ⚙️.

@@LONEWOLF-rq5tl The V Star has a slightly lower gear than the Stryker due to the front pulley having a different number of "teeth". A common complaint on the V Star is a need for a sixth gear, and many owners have installed Stryker pulleys to drop cruising RPMs at the expense of a little acceleration, while quite a few Stryker owners have installed V Star pulleys so their bike will get up to speed quiicker. 😆

Excellent review. I appreciate it when someone takes the time to go over all the specs. When comparing to other bikes like Harley and Indian reliability is not really a consideration. Actually the aforementioned bikes are currently very well engineered and reliable bikes. The biggest consideration when comparing to Harley and Indian is cost. The Stryker is just about half the cost of those two bikes. Also to your point; Yamaha nailed the look of these bikes. It is probably one of the best looking, production bikes I've seen in my almost 35 years of riding!!

That is one GORGEOUS Stryker 1300 which made me sub'd to your channel. I own a Shadow 750 now which I LOVE, and would like to maybe add this to the stable. EDIT : A few days ago I traded in the black Honda Shadow 750 for a 2011 Yamaha Stryker 1300 and I'm SO glad I made the decision to do so.

I test rode this bike a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I currently ride a 2011 Street Glide. I am planning to buy a Stryker soon. Great review!

I have a 2012 Stryker and it is awesome - plenty of power with 1300cc , rides smooth and never had any issue. Only bad thing is can’t raise the handlebars - wish I could raise em about 3 inches and back a few. I’ll never get rid of this bike

Yeah, I've an all blacked out and chrome with the blacked out front wind shield 2011 Stryker 1300 she sounds,looks and rides amazing and they're really great bikes hands down and very fast.Mine turns so MANY heads and I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it and I just got 1 today and 1 yesterday and it's about every single time I take it out. Everyone does think it's a Harley though and they're shocked when I tell them it's not. Lol. Also,does yours ride really loud and rough at 80 mph+ sounding like it needs to shift to the next ⚙️ but there isn't 1? Lol.. I absolutely hate that about the Stryker but other than that it's a badass superb and VERY fast bike.

Glad you enjoy the Stryker. I got my 2014 Matte Grey Stryker a year after they were released, and I love it myself. Unfortunately, this was my first bike and after falling off of it seven times, I wouldn't recommend anyone to get this bike as their first bike. I'd thought about getting a Harley but there wasnt anyway I was going to pay $35k for what I wanted. So, I got the closest thing that looked like the Harley in this Stryker. I get a lot of compliments myself and many have mistaken our bikes for Harley's which I think is a compliment. I see you have the same exact black grips as I do with the throttle boss, they are awesome. I'd placed some other mods on mine too including several low and mean parts such as chin radiator cover, wrap around front fender, led brake light, led turn signal w/tree cover, fat fork tubes, gaiters and an octagon gas cap trim. I have Freedom performance exhausts, they are shorties, so they are loud on the road, and I use a Kuryakyn Alley Kat for an air cover. It is also custom painted in black, charcoal and red using scallops for designs and glossy black powder coating on the stock wheels and trim. However, I'm ready to get it custom painted again. I currently have a Michelin set using 240 on the rear but i doubt I will be able to use a 250 since the bike is already lowered 2 inches.

I was thinking about it as first. What is that make you fell so much. I am asking as I am going for license soon hence the question. Regards Antoni
@angelomaurizio1668
@angelomaurizio1668 Год назад
@@AntoniOrszykowski Simply intimidation. When I was going for my license they dont put you on a 1300 like the Stryker, they put you on a 250 or lower and had no issues on that bike, riding was fun. But on the 1300 when I'd first got it, after the seventh time falling I was getting ready to give up but gave it one more go. I'd told myself I'm not falling anymore, since then I haven't. Just shows you gotta be control of the bike not the other way around. If you have friends or family who ride bikes, I'd highly recommend asking them if you could atleast sit on it and get a feel. And if someone has an extra bike you could ride, even better. I went in that safety course never been on a bike and I didnt have any family who'd owned a bike. I did say i wouldnt recommend this bike as a first bike but the way i see it now, get the bike you want to KEEP FOR A WHILE. It doesn't make sense spending $5-6k or less on a new or used 250cc when you'll be ready for an upgrade within 6 months or less. That money couldve easy went toward the ultimate bike you want. But if you have the money to spend, more power to you. As for me, I'd purchased the one i wanted in the Stryker and since had no regret making this purchase as my first bike.

Hi! Great review. I got a 2012 Stryker 3 years ago as my first motorcycle. It was a great find, since it only had 200mi. It now has close to 3,000. I was a bit afraid at the beginning because of the weight and the raked out front wheel, but to be honest it is not that bad. I really like it

The factory standard uses 210, without problems you can put a 240, I have it mounted and it is a delight. It's just that the tire looks smaller than it is, it must be because of the original rim, I compared it with a Suzuki Hayabusa and a Suzuki M109R with the same size of 240 and they look wider than on the Yamaha Stryker...

I started riding again when I hit 50 years old lol I know getting old lol anyway I haven't been on a bike in 30+ years so started w Yamaha 650 and months later traded her in at same dealer for 950 and after a year or so saw the Stryker and had that for 3 years and loved the bike til one day at another dealer saw the raider and will have this bike til the end. Yamaha makes great bikes as well as Honda and the other 2 japanese bikes. Take care and enjoy.
