Hey guys here we have a 2018 Ford F-150 Truck
My screen radio froze one day and wouldn’t turn off.
Volume doesn’t work
Nothing responded it was frozen, then the screen dies and remains black! So here’s a quick an easy solution to that problem!

This just saved my ass. My screen was frozen on even when I turned the truck off and took the keys out, 15 minutes later the screen was still on. This fixed it. Thanks bro

This is a common issue with Ford. Unfortunately, it is an issue with the APIM, so it will keep on happening and it costs a ton of money to fix. Also, eventually, you will get sporadic connection to bluetooth and the Nav will stop working. It continues to happen on and off seemingly randomly. The mechanics at Ford told me they see this all the time. If it's happening to you and your vehicle is under warranty, go tell them you're having issues with the APIM and get it fixed. My truck was out of warranty and they want $750 now to the replace the APIM and on top of that they told me it will probably just happen again after a few years because the product they are using is terrible.

I got a f150 2013 xlt ecooboster 4 inch radio dispaly eveything work bluetooth etc.. but dispaly doesn't... do you think it can be the same issues fusez are all fine (checked)...

You are spot on. The radio refresh will help for the short term, but the issue will come back time and time again. I had been complaining to my Ford Dealership for years about my radio and every time I brought it in, they stated they could not get it to duplicate the issues I had brought up. I'm now into my extended warranty and the screen went black, everything is operated with a delayed or unresponsive response to the touch screen. As an example- you put the transmission into reverse, you see the backup camera. When putting the trans into drive the backup camera remains on for up to a few tenths of a mile before it flashes to a black screen and returns to the correct view. Stopped by the Dealership the other day with the truck still running so it didn't reset itself, while the radio buttons were completely unresponsive to show the service writer. At the service appointment we scheduled for the next day they finally realized that I was telling the truth and they order a part to fix the issue. Hoping the part comes in next week to see if this fix resolves the issue that I've been dealing with for a few years. I was hoping they would replace the radio.

This absolutely works ! My 2018 Ford Escape Radio/GPS was frozen and stayed on even after the shut off the engine, went outside, and locked the door. I was so lucky to find this video. After 15 seconds my radio/GPS rebooted and everything works perfectly. Whoever posted this is a genius and life saver. Thanks!!!

Ok my 2019 escape did the black screen in April, came back in 10 minutes everything ok until today did it again and noticed my usb also wasn’t working. Call dealer and was going to take it in. My question is did it fix the problem so far? I hate to be without my vehicle

Thank you. My clock and outside temp were not displaying but the rest of the display was. Was ready to call the dealer but watched your video and followed your steps and it solved my issue. My ford is a 2015 F-150 and the same steps reset my sync and got my clock temp displaying again. Thanks again.

@@johndaily3517 Agreed, resets worked fine for a while now it's a shot in the dark. Lately it seems to work at start of day, after initial working time if I power off I'm out of luck the rest of the day.

@@caolin7 I replaced my AIPM (also was an upgrade to Sync 3.4) and all issues gone. Over time I figured out mine was getting worse with the heat. Typically it worked in AM but if I powered off when it was still warm (or it was a HOT day) it wouldn't start again. I noticed if I ran AC cold cold for like 30 minutes it often would cool it down and then the button reset would work until it heated up yet again. Just some FYI

It just resets the system if it keeps doing this you do need a apim or eventually it'll go blank and nothing will bring it back except an apim 💪🔥🇺🇸🔧

This happened to our 2016 Expedition yesterday. Engine was still running then the navigation screen turned dark, no audio, then my usb charger in middle console wasn’t working as well. Searched on YT and finally today saw your post 😍 I was going to make an appointment later with the dealership already but, at the same time thinking maybe Pop’s spirit just visiting since it’s his 1st yr death anniversary today (silly thought 😆) Miss you Papa! Didn't work on my 2015 Update, it came on well after 15 seconds. It booted straight to the sink screen said it was performing maintenance, and then booted up normally. I didn't see the Ford logo like the guy had on the video. But it did work thanks brother appreciate it

My 2019 f250 did this to me yesterday, I tried shutting down and restarting a few times to no avail. After mowing a lawn and getting back in did I see it magically work again. So glad to find this to try if it reoccur.
