2015 Black Mustang GT. Steeda Sport Springs (lowered 1" all the way around) Magnaflow competition cat back exhaust. Vossen VFS1 wheels- 9.5x20 on 275/35/20 up front. 10.5x20 on 315/35/20 on the back.
Sweet looking ride! Sounds great too. Can't believe there's no rubbing in the rear with those massive 315's in the rear. Looks wise, you can stop right there...seriously! You did it right!
Very nice 2015. Great choice in wheels. That is true about magnaflow catback exhaust. Right around 1900-2100 drone city. Lol. Although they sound really good.
I'm amazed that the non PP stock GT gets away with 235-width all-seasons on all four corners. I bought one and can say that it doesn't struggle for traction either, except in the rain when it wants to spin every time you breathe on the throttle. The WRX uses the same width tires!
+81mullah Any chance you can put a video of the cabin when you're cruising? I'm debating between the competition, or the street but I really like the tone you have. Thanks!
Hey man!! 1st, your GT is one of my faves of all time on the tube. Kudos on being so tasteful. Question tho: with the 315's, how are they in the rain or accumulated water? On the new edge body style they could get pretty squiggly..
Thanks bud! The 315 are great all the way around. No complaints at all. The new styling is still perfect in my opinion and definitely a head turner still.
I know this was a while ago you posted this but I have a question. Did you have to do any rear end adjustment when you put the 315's on the back. I just did mine and one side goes past the fender and one is normal. Thanks, hope to hear from ya.
Nice car. How do you like those vossen wheels? I'm looking at the matte graphite one but not sure about quality for the price. Are vossens really worth it?
what brand of tires do you have. And just how expensive are running 315 wide tires are if you don't mind me asking because I have been thinking about running the same exact setup you have.
Looks perfect!!! Was wondering if you happen to know what offset those wheels have? I was looking to go 295s out back maybe 305s, but if you say I can go with 315s and no rubbing issues with no additional mods other than a one inch drop, $#!t, I'm in!! Beautiful set up!!
Can you make a video of how it sounds inside around 2000 rmp? Love the external sound, but am really worried about the drone. Seen some pretty bad reviews of 2015 GT + Magnaflow Competition Cat Back Exhaust because of the drone. Thanks!
I'll try! I plan on getting a go pro this week! I will say there's definitely some drone. If I were buying right now I would go with the Corsa extreme with my magnaflows being a close second!
I've been looking for tire options for mine I saw a 14 with 295 and saw a poke I see yours doesn't have a poke I want to go wide it looks like 315's are it I want something to stick when I hit it you know
Quick ?...I have on order same size tires/wheels you have for my 2016 GT...and 1" Ford Racing lowering springs going after after that. You have no issue with rubbing at all in the rear? Like maybe a unusually large dip on a freeway or something? Also, do you have caster/camber plates on it? Ive heard some say you need em, some say you don't with only a 1" drop. I have the same exhaust ordered as well....love the sound. Let me know when you can. Thanks
Thats exactly the look I would like to have on my 2015 Mustang GT. Called Vossen a couple of times but could not get a clear statement about the tire size. I installed an Eibach spring kit and i would like to know, if my kids can sit in the rear without the tires getting contact with the fenders. Also what lug nuts did you use ? The OEM won't fit the Vossen wheels from what I was told.
The 315 fit with no rubbing at all. I bought my wheels from hypermotive- great guys who are all all vets and they threw in the lugs, can't remember what brand they are.
What was the total price on the Wheels and Tires? Looking to do this to my Ecoboost. I love how your car sits on those rear tires. Improvements on traction?
Hey what is the wheel offsets? I have a 2016 white Mustang GT. I also have a 350Z, it's badass & only 20k miles that is all black so I went opposite with Mustang. Always black or white with me & now both. I achieved a crazy stance with offset. I want to accomplish the same with my new Mustang. I have springs ordered as the car handles awful to me & I know wheels & springs will make this car bite. I like that brand of wheel. Looking for a concave 5 spoke. Probably a 20x9 & 20x10 265/300. Rotating mass is a big HP robber. I realized that on the Z. It has 19X11.5 on back with a 20 offset. It is fat as hell in the back. Yeah, I am thinking 33 front 35 back but am not sure. Lemme know the offset & I can use a quadratic equation to factor. You didn't feel any power robbed with the big wheel? Do u have 355 or 373's. I bought the base GT but I only paid 30,500 out the door & 12 miles on the odometer. Needs intake, exhaust & a tune. 425hp isn't enough. lol. It's a big car & rides high.
Yeah black or white is definitely the way to go! I honestly can't remember the offsets of the wheels. If you hit the guys up at hypermotive.com they can help you out with wheels and the correct offset. These vossens are really light so I didn't notice any difference. I definitely love the stance and the way it looks though!
I will call them about the offset for my 16 GT. Thanks. I am 5'10". I can't find a comfortable driving position. If I sit where I like, I can't see over the dash enough & the shifter is too forward. So I raise the seat some, push the steering wheel in halfway or so & it's better. When I get into a good driving position, the arms rest is too far down for my elbow on the door. Window sill is too high! It's bugging the crap outta me. I got in my 350Z & the gear shift just sat in my Palm as my whole forearm rest on the console & my left arm rests on the door arm rest & I can hold the wheel. You also sit way down so you worry you ass will hit the road but you're good. I can drive for 12 hours. It's a fight in the new Mustang. Do you have a truck or have you found a way to get comfortable in it with your arms? The good is hard to see over too. Does yours have the vents on the hood & the turn signals flash through them? Don't ever sit in a 350 or 370Z. They pull about the same too.
I traded my 2014 370z for my 2016 mustang gt premium. the 370z pulls no where near as hard as the mustang. The mustang is way faster and pulls way harder. It's not even a comparison.
+Shawn Jozwiak - My 350Z has a $2300 motordyne TDX2 with ART pipes, big TB etc. I've grown into my 2016 Mustang GT & you're right, it pulls way harder than the Z. My Z only has 20k miles & on coilovers handles amazingly better than the stang. I like both & thus keeping both cars. I bought a better suspension for the GT & will instal it soon & hopefully get it handling better. My 2016 GT is a base model & doesn't have a strut tower & I would call the handling terrible. It also pisses me off that I can have giant numbers showing me distance to empty but not MPH on my digital display. That is a simple issue that Ford needs to do yesterday.
+Tim Doherty I'm in California and I am trying to buy a premium gt with the permormance package and the best deal i could get for it is 42k and 700+ dollars rebate
+Richard Martin The larger the wheel the harder it is for the flywheel to move them. The engine puts power to the flywheel. Same with weight. Rotating mass robs power. It's not like having 50lbs in your car. It's weight the car has to rotate. It robs power like crazy. If you track this car, you buy 18X9 18x10's in the lightest ones you can find. He would get 30-40hp & would be a much quicker car. It would also stop quicker. You get the performance back & 21" wheels. You lost all braking distance & accel you got from gear ratio. Always gotta balance performance with aesthetics.
