I actually ended up getting a 2015 Si Coupe instead of the sedan...reason being is its shorter wheel base and its lighter compared to the sedan version...and the coupe is more agressive looks than the sedan...and oh yeah I got a wife and 4 kids 😁

To answer your question about the HDMI port, it is primarily there to connect with an iPhone using a special cable so that you could "mirror" the phone's screen to the car's display, mainly for navi purposes. Yes you can plug in other display devices, but video doesn't play while in motion(rightfully so) so there is little point to it as the screen is oriented to the driver. The only use I found for it was when I used Drift cameras as dash cams. For that application it made sense because the tiny screen on those cameras was impossible to see on if you needed to review footage while on the road. But other than that, it was a marketing gimmick to attract young people, the Civic's main demographic, as Honda knew many of them carried iPhones. I personally was pissed that they ditched the AUX port to go with this stupid interface that never really gets used. An SD card slot would've made more sense. Great review on a great car!

The coupe has way cooler bumpers tho

I think the coupe looks better. That front end just does it for me. And if you have a problem with the practicality, then you have a problem with every civic coupe's practicality. The civic coupe, all the way up until 2021 model year cancelation, has been a staple among honda enthusiasts. So it's not really a si coupe thing. It's a civic coupe thing to you.

Would the HDMI be for a flash tuner/laptop?

I have this si in black though , in my opinion it is the best version of the si besides em1, looks are sleek and sporty, interior is great looking and comfortable, tech is amazing , I went from a 05 rsx type s to this and I enjoy it, I had to floor that rsx to get it to a good speed , or keep it above 5k , yes the engine doesn’t have true vtec but that’s always fixable ,
@Kayotik96
@Kayotik96 2 года назад
That’s exactly what im thinking of doing bro. I have a 02 rsx type s, and im really considering this car. How is it going a year later?
@anthonyhernandez1953
@anthonyhernandez1953 2 года назад
@@Kayotik96 I would recommend it , you have way more tech , lane watch , touch screen radio , whole interior is black and red, back up camera 3 different views , and it looks sporty , the seats are way more comfortable than the rsx-type s , and you can always put a real vtec head on these cars just gotta pay a little , you just have to relocate the oil filter to put in a type s oil pump, and weld the corner of the head so it won’t leak on the k24z7 block , your header needs to be modified then you’re good if that’s what you really want, but I do love this car way more than the type s , just keep in mind that the rsx values keep going up every year
@turbro7185
@turbro7185 Год назад
I had a 2004 RSX type S & I want to get a 9th gen Si How's the visibility on the 9th gen Si the windows look a lot bigger and with the extra small window is it more visible than the RSX? How are the back seats on the 9th gen the car is longer than the RSX type S so is there more room in the back seats and trunk ? How's the clutch engagement the RSX was really low to the ground which I loved is it the same with the 9th gen or or do they have a longer travel? How's the gas mileage on the 9th gen Si compared to the RSX type S I got pretty bad gas mileage on mine for such a slow car I would get around 18mpg How quick is this car compared to the RSX are they about the same or is the RSX quicker?
@anthonyhernandez1953
@anthonyhernandez1953 Год назад
@@turbro7185 I would make the change , 9th gen has lsd transmission , better visibility Forsure , an ARM REST! Which makes a world of a difference! The seats even though they are cloth are way more comfortable than the hard leather type s seats , yes more room in the back but still cramped , I mean it’s a coupe lol Si has shorter throws stock than the type s , Clutch travel is about the same I would say , pretty low , Car still feels low even though rsx def feels lower Gas mileage the 9th gen has 30+ more torque than the rsx so it’s better, type s you have to nearly floor it each time to get a good speed which kills the gas But I will say they both burn oil pretty quick I think it’s just a k series thing Hmmm both of them stock , si takes off faster cus of the torque , but type s feels faster once in vtec if that makes sense ? Overall si is more livable on a daily basis I’ve driven my car from San Diego to Las Vegas round trip twice already and I’m completely comfortable, I drove the type s from San Diego to Santa Barbara one time round trip and my legs and body was hurting from the hard leather seats , Only thing I would change about the si is the head it comes with , definitely needs a older tsx head or older si head , then the only thing the type s would have better would be the hatch for the space

Right. The tune on this engine, the torque, the horsepower, and the dual camshafts is perfect for things like road racing. 7200 rpm is where it cuts off, but i’ve reved the car to 7500 rpm around tight corners to get that extra bit of 3rd/4th gear acceleration to not randomly shift to 4th/5th mid corner. Thing is a beast.

I have one it looks great as a coupe but they did make it a Lil to long they should've cut at least 2 feet off the cars overall length should've made it like the fg2 size they should've had the size of the interior of the 2016 and up and the over length of fg2 then it would be a perfect civic

Is it good for a first car?
@trishsargentini948
@trishsargentini948 Месяц назад
Kinda? If you have zero experience driving a manual, I’d go for a car you’re OK with destroying (as of late May 2024, this car is still ~$10K or more car despite being almost a decade old Civic). The car is very forgiving, but I’ve heard of guys destroying their transmission because they wanted to show off to the boys and money shifted.

This looks most like my FG2 but don't be fooled it doesn't have its ridiculous Redline or it's great handling because of its double Wishbone suspension which my 8th generation has class-leading handling while the 2015 has a shock strut set up cheaper inferior and the drivability suffers
@yukonstriker1703
