This is an almost-seven-year old video at this point, but with respect to 7:37 and 8:12, I think it's interesting to note that only a few countries actively use miles as a unit of measurement anymore, primarily the United States and the United Kingdom. The UK got further with metrication than the US did, but apparently the British didn't metricate to the same extent as Canada. Australia and New Zealand metricated even more than Canada; a few Imperial measurements seem to still be commonly used in Canada.
What a lonely road... But still a fun ride. Nice use of effects and trance music. I would love to switch to metric here in the US, but of course that would be quite the endeavor lol
Great work Philip! That was quite ambitious to make a 32 minute road video. You successfully kept me engaged through out the whole ride with your excellent mixing skills, interesting sign overlays, and trivial annotations of the area. mcpish Thanks for the link. I know I must have played "Blue Sky Action" at least 20 times today. I had it jamming in the car at a stop light and a pretty girl in a red Civic coupe wanted to know what it was, so I pass the song info on to her.
I'm always disheartened when your videos end, because I find I just want more! I enjoy watching the journeys, especially when it's on a stretch of road I've never travelled. I always look forward to your next video, and see what adventures you have awaiting us!

+Schwenda Productions Thank you. Drawing all the signs for this video was definitely a marathon ;-) There were over 150 graphics/signs created for this video. It took me well over 8 hours of work just to draw them all. I spend 4 nights in a row working for 2 hours each day drawing them out, never-mind the actual video editing, and of course, doing the DJ mix. I'm going to try to limit long videos in the future, but I think my upcoming Icefields Parkway video might be a long one too, although I think I might split it up into two parts.
+TCP but be careful what you wish for on wishing Canada had a cross country freeway system; the U.S. interstate system will literally be 60 years old next year with among the oldest pieces never called a "Parkway" or "Turnpike" practically just outside my doorstep! Think funding reconstruction efforts for such old highways, especially bridges, is currently a priority in 'Merica? lol, Think again!

A nice journey westward across Alberta! Great soundtrack :) I'm surprised there is a four-lane divided all the way west given the low volume of traffic. It allows quick travel.
The highway was twinned in the early 90s. Before that, it was a very dangerous drive, winding and hilly with trucks and holiday traffic. And a lot of impatient drivers making stupid passing manoeuvers.
