For me since I've driven the ATS V sedan, I can live with the interior and I"ll see the M3/4, Benz Amg c63 & Mustang gt350 at the finish line when you they get there! Check the numbers!
so much aggression and luxury i love it, just they need to get the interior down a bit better, but the driving dynamics and performance really are class leading shame BMW has kind of moved away from this mind set of great driving dynamics for more Audi like luxury.
+justin bouche I agree. Having owned quite a few BMWs, the materials they use are top notch even though their design is getting a little stale compared to the competition. I'll still give it to the M3/4. If I was on the market though, I'd seriously consider the CTS-V and the beauty is that you don't see them on every corner.
Cheaper them M-3? Inpaid 92k for my ATS-V here in Toronto canada now how much is M3? Yeah I thought so and by the way my ATS-V by far better than M3 or M4
Too bad you didn't have the manual. That automatic is good for what it is (even though there is still a noticeable delay between shifts, although it's not TOO bad) but it still isn't 3-pedal good. In my opinion, the only reason to really get this car over the CTS-V, aside from price difference, is that this one offers the manual while the CTS-V doesn't.
+David Tomack for a tester, I'd love to drive the manual. For myself to own personally, I'd go with the CTS-V. Bigger, nicer on road ride, and a beast overall. Still one of the most impressive cars I've driven.
David T. The numbers for the 8sp auto shows it's bot shifting slow- 0-60/3.7! That doesn't say slow shifting. The paddle shifts are slow, but as Chief Engineer, Dave Leone, said, "It's designed to shift quicker in Auto. Having driven both ATS-V & CTS-V, these cars are fast!
Having had the 2011 CTS-V I'd rather have the ATS-V it's priced just right and the CTS is a bunch more money and the zero to sixty times are negligible 3.6 C to 3.8 A or there abouts. Sorry but theres no comparison at all when it comes to interior quality, fit and finish but for the money its a good deal but if I had the mullah I'd go for Z Germans every time.
Video is titled "ATS-V" and displays such, but description says "CTS-V". Also the CTS-V is not less expensive than the m3/m4, so I'm guessing there is a typo. There were also numerous issues in your video such as saying the ATS-V is a coupe and looks just like the CTS-V. The ATS-V is also available as a sedan and there are numerous styling differences. The CTS-V is longer and has fog lights. The rear end is completely different, etc.
+shawn miller thank you Shawn for the detailed comment and for finding my embarrassing typos. As for price, in Canada here, the ATS-V is much less than the M4. ATS-V starts at 68k while the M4 with auto is almost 80k. I realize there are styling differences and my comments are in the more general sense. They have similar attributes, lights, grill, etc. I do appreciate the comment. Thank you for paying attention.
Don't SSleep Because, IMO, it is a better engine period. The CTS-V uses the 640hp LT4, a supercharged small block, so it's not as if they couldn't find room to slot below with a simpler ~450hp NA LT1. The Gen V small block is easily GM's best engine family, simple engines that are cheap, very lightweight, compact, able to make lots of horsepower and lots of broad ranging torque, but it's clear affected corporate heads were too stuck-up and wanted the ATS-V to be like everything else.
If you want the most American like Cadillac, there is always the Escalade, CT6, XTS and XT5 which blends more old school flavor with some new school flavor. The ATS and CTS are more new school flavor type of Cadllacs than old school.
sure, but people buy the M series because they are amazing communicative handing cars that are unique, sadly BMW has lost this, sure they have a slightly better interior (not much better) but they have lost a lot of what made them famous and stand out among the German 3. (former M3 owner)
I have no allegiance to either car but what good is owning a BMW if it spends much of its life at the dealership for warranty repairs? One friend has a 428 the other a 535. They love their cars....when they can drive it. But both continue having to undergo warranty service (engine knocks, bad shocks, dash rattle, warning light appears while driving).
I disagree. BMW overall screws their 3's interior bits together tighter, but the overall feel of the interior isn't much better than the ATS, if at all... There are so many cheap plastic bits used to build the center stack and console, it's even worse than some budget cars. Even the spokes on the optional "M Sport" steering wheel use cheap plastics. Also, even the soft touch areas feel cheaper. The dashboard and door panels might use a softer material, but it feels extremely synthetic. And when you knock on the dash, it has a very hollow sound to it, not solidly built at all. BMW just doesn't build cars like they once did.
+Carlos 100 % agree, bmws have really never been known for their interiors, even now despite trading off fun and an engaging drive for a better interior and more luxury the 4 series is not much better than the ats coupe, they feel like they are in the same level really
+Carlos I sat in a new Cadillac and the stitching didn't even line up on center console area....BMW's tolerance s are might tight than the cheap Cadillac...door jams etc are a much better fit.
anyone dogging the interior is not a "driver".. a true drivers car prioritizes performance. who the hell has time to "play with dials" or stare at the stitching in the seats when you're driving.. are you f'n kidding me? Are you driving or engaging in foreplay with your car or driving it? I own a 10 cts-v and a 16 ats v.. I couldn't tell you where my climate control is if you asked me..
LEWDSocietyOfficial kk so stfu and get yourself a 600 hp tuned up ricenoodle Honda but don't cry if kids ask their mums :"does that guy over there in the loud metal dumpchunk still lives at his parents basement?"
No V8 and GM cheap interior quality. No thanks. For that money and horrible cheap interior get a Mustang 350. I see no resemblance of luxury in the Cadillac and just cheap gloss black plastic. Nissan Juke did that awhile ago. Then Cadillac mutes the engine. They wonder why they are not selling
You've obviously never sat in one, let alone driven one. I own one, and I can tell you that nothing you've said here has the slightest bit of truth to it.
And the Mustang 350 A.K.A the crowd killer! ATS-V all day! Just put a better air box and filter thats a must in the AYS-V. and make sure you give diapers to your passengers because there gonna shit in there pants.
