Thank you for the video and introduction to WAMS. They are great and will work with you. I made a mistake of not unplugging my battery when i got my HMI back and it locked up my radio. They were kind enough to reprogram it for free. I just had to pay for shipping. Great company
Absolutely! Like I mention in the video, they are the ONLY company I will trust with this type of work. There are SO many things that can go wrong, security protocols, tamper flags, etc etc... and wouldn't have anyone else do this work.
Hey Phil! as always...one of the foremost and well informed guys around on these trucks!! What is the headlight/fog switch you have?? never seen it. Could you buy a replacement and send that in to them instead to limit actual down time of the truck?
Thanks! That headlight switch is the GM Switch that also has fog light + ORL (Off Road Lamp) switch. The switch is for trucks that have the Factory Roll bar and lights mounted above. Check out the video made by Tinkering Fox here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4fESc7THdsQ.html
I did the LTZ/High Country lights conversion on my truck, definitely need this upgrade if the resistors are gonna go out. Also love that you can program the windows to go back up
Since our trucks only have Express Up Driver side, that is the only window that can roll up with key fob lock. I am working on getting the passenger side integrated, and is in the works. The rear window key fob roll down has been disabled with this mod.
Nice video Phil! You hadn't posted any videos in a while. A few things I noticed, not about the BCM though. Did you remove the Denali cluster on your truck and what side mirrors do you have now? They kind of look like the side mirrors of the 2019 GM body style.
I've done lots since the last video upload and have been quite busy with customer orders. My Denali cluster is with WAMS in an effort to get Factory Trailer Brakes integrated :) I do miss that cluster. I should have it back soon. Hard to find free "me" time these days. LOL.
It's all good bro! You gotta do what you gotta do. Keep doing what your doing and glad to see we can make all these upgrades in our GM vehicles. Appreciate you man!
Thanks. You just answer a bunch of questions I've had lately. I have 2018 Lt and I've trying to figure out what it would take for the ltz lights to work and the fog light/high beam. It was all good info I've been wondering.
Hi Phil, question, I have a 2017 gmc sierra 250 Denali and I removed the aftermarket radio and have a Kenwood aftermarket radio. Can I have the BCM reprogrammed through wams? I have the hyper flashing issue. Also cost?
Is the alarm system in the BCM? My ‘06 won’t allow fob programming, it kicks out of programming mode after 3 seconds every time I try. Door latches seem to be fine.
Do you have a video to show us how you program the BCM to add the heated and cooled seats? I installed the AN3 seats to my 2016 Yukon SLE, added the new center console with the control switches. Since everything was wired into the console, the only wire needed to connect to my truck was to the BCM and USB ports. So all the factory wiring is there. Just ordered a VX tech2 GDS2 programmer and curious about the steps needed to active the BCM communication with everything I have installed at this point.
That’s amazing thank you man , I’m trying to look for the same one. I have the same part number. Can you please send me the link? Where can I get it? I really appreciate it
What if I just get the BCM from a high country and put in my work truck will it work that way or is programming the only way? Awesome channel btw, thanks in advance.
@@JamesSimmons1964 Yes - That's the main reason why I have my factory dash in. WAMS has my Denali Cluster and the trailer brake modules in an attempt to add it.
K C by that so you mean a harness that sits on the right side of the clockspring? I’m assuming there is a connector on the clock spring that is vacant and that is where the signal is for the radio? So what I need to do is purchase that and connect it to that plug then the plug will go the the steering wheel? To power the controls?
I have a 2018 gmc acadia and call the dealer they said the part was $600 something plus $200 to reprogram and on top of that they may need to diagnose the car and that another $145. I may also need a ECM so thats $200 something and even if I buy the parts it will cost $500 for them to i stall and program. I am thinking about buying a program one and then having a locksmith program the primary key then I have to reprogram the anti theft system myself with the key.
I have a 2016 Sierra that came with HID's I have installed aftermarket LED's and I don't have the "hyperflash" syndrome. I did not add any resistors or anything else besides the LED's.
@@crazygrady127 He didn't get it to work! I massage him privately in Instagram. No solution to the problem that sucks. Also WAMS is not doing BCM PROGRAMMING anymore. They didn't say why! It sucks too bud!
I was just talking about BCM programing the other day. My coworker was bragging about his heated and cooled seats and I figured it can't be that bad to swap them in. Turned out it wasn't really doable and I was bummed. Then I said "someone will figure out how to program these stupid BCMs" I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 LT regcab. I'd like heated steering wheel, heated/cooled seats, radio upgrade(I have the tiny useless one) and maybe a dash upgrade.
All very possible. I've done MANY heated/cooled seat retrofits. A majority of the trucks didn't come with factory heat, so those trucks, I couldn't get heat/cool to work. This is due to BCM programming first. Then, once the heat/cooled communication is made between the BCM and the heat/cooled module, THEN any of the missing wiring needs to be added. Heated steering is simple IF you have radio controls. It's a simple swap of wheel and clock spring. If you don't have radio controls, then there is more work ahead of you. If you have an HMI (behind the upper glove box), you're upgrade path would be easier than if you didn't have an HMI. Nonetheless, you have fairly large task of requirements needed.
@@philgamboa2906 thanks for the reply. Steering wheel is easy in have radio controls. HMI I'm unsure. Too bad a retrofit harness for the seats doesn't exist.
I don't know what kind of service those guys sold you on.... Or if Chevy doesn't implement that stuff on their trucks but I can do the remote roll down and remote roll-up (although it is all four windows) on my 2016 Sierra factory. And the 20 minute remote start by holding the remote start a second time. You have a good looking truck but maybe consider GMC next time you trade in.
I have a 14 Silverado 1500 LT i was wondering if i can put in the pillar handel for the drivers side without modifying anything, I have the passenger one from factory
I have a 2016 Chevrolet LT cloth seats Plain Jane and I bought the interior from a high country truck and when I bought the interior they gave me the BCM along with the dash can I just plug that in my
The handles are factory Escalade Handles. I have a video of that integration on my channel. The change I've done with them, is that I sent them to Crisp GM Customs (on Facebook) and had them retrofit Switchback LEDs. So now, they are on all the time at night (or when my headlights are on/manually turned on), and will flash amber when turn signals are used.
Yes sir! Hoping to know more in the coming weeks! Be on the lookout for that video if I can get to work. This does require BCM work and wiring/hardware change as well.
@@kyyo2642 yes. Initially tied to the turn signal. Then had them custom worked on with switchbacks. Then had them tied to running light (white), then amber when turn signal are used. Thought about them again for my 2021 truck I picked up a few months ago.
SUV platform uses similar Logic. Contact WAMS - www.whiteautoandmedia.com for more info. Since you have express up passenger, you can get your front windows to roll up with Key Fob lock :)
I have a 2016 GMC Sierra SLE my LED Lights were working fine and now i have this on my Dashboard Right Rear Turn Indicator Failure. Left Rear Turn Indicator Failure So far i have Purchase and install New Battery New Harness New LED Lights I took the truck to a local mechanic to have a diagnostic and the code was U0077-00 Something with the BCM If you could help me get to the bottom of this i will gladly appreciate it because the dealer in California wants over a grand
