4 cylinder Accords and CR-Vs have the vibration issue that Cooley has mentioned. It's because of the direct-injection system. Use full synthetic 0W-20 oil for direct-injection engines, since Honda always puts synthetic-blend 0W-20 oil, causing some friction and rough vibrations into the interior.
+muzikking honda has already acknowledged this problem in the CRV 2015 model and they say the fix will be available in november. its reported story just google it. i think its more of faulty engine mounts or something like that
Hello Brian, Great Show ! When you put any diesel VW on a dyno, which runs only the front wheels, the emission, power and torque are less. This is why there was a disparity in the numbers. When you take the same VW diesel on put in on dyno and spin all it's 4 wheels, the readings are different. That is the entire case behind this.
Yeah, the vibration is there. I have a 2012 civic and when im sitting at a light i have to slightly turn the wheel to stop it. But if the air conditioning is on there is nothing to do. It also sometimes jerks forward a little when i first got it i thought people were hitting me. +cnet +briancooley
Good job as always but his team needs to decide whether they want to record in 60 or 30fps. 60 fps is jarring enough (since its not that popular on youtube) without switching between the two multiple times in the same video.
I did experienced the vibration on my 2014 Accord Sport model CVT at Stop light so bad that I end up disliking it and sold the damn car. Love how it runs and drive thought, just not the vibrations.
Man I made a huge mistake buying my 2017 Accord Sport SE CVT. I only had it for 2 weeks. The CVT was abismal!!! Should have gotten the manual!! But I didn't. So I traded it for another VW Passat R-Line. What a huge difference. Second Passat this year.
What you think about OIL EXTRACTING PUMPS to change your oil? I saw a 12v electric Pump you hook up to you R car's battery. Is it true that some cars still keep some old oil in the oil pan even after you unscrew the bottom screw and change the oil filter? Thank you for reviewing a real car like the Accord.
Love this episode. I am working on a Thesis paper about the 25 year import laws, the Transatlantic Trade Negotiations are a heavy focus in my paper. It is very interesting to see how much benefit there is if the US stops acting stupid and lets cars trade freely.
+Jared Rosenholtz Yeah I've found out CNET On Cars is a good starting point to get into car tech, but it's a STARTING POINT, like Wikipedia is for most people. Judging from all the comments about Cooley being a pimp or whatever, it seems you should start on CNET and move on other websites.
+Engineer Diep, people just really love Cooley. The man is very bright. CNET is a vast source of car knowledge becuase of how many review they do. On Cars is great too, but its a short show and they can't go into enough detail. Trust me, if you had 3 hours to sit and talk to Cooley, you would see how much he knows.
+HW2800 I agree about not liking the new front grill. It looks like the old 2012 Civic which got dog pretty bad. I didn't realize it until I saw a 2012 Civic yesterday. LOL!!
I may still buy the new V6 Accord with automatic - anyways due to reliability and performance. No vehicle is going be perfect in everyway. Now, should I get the coupe or the sedan?
I agree with the vibration cause I own a 2014 Accord Sport and it has the same issue so I sold the damn car. However, my neighbor has the same car but 2013 and it does not have the vibration problem.
Rear Brake Lights are not LED, those lines are the parking lights which are LEDs but the Brake Lights are full Halogen.. Very miss leading as in the Acuras offering the same thing.
Accord : the lowest traction, 0.7g, extreme slide, extreme tail flick, 20-100 l/100km, over 100 l/100km by wider rear track than front track chassises. Thais or global AE social media promote as high traction. From Database Accord 2010-2016
Animations looked really clean. And the only people in Murica that don't like diesels, know nothing about cars. Hence why the heavy duty and light duty trucks are all diesel by preference, dodge has popular Eco diesel and now Chevy, which still sucks, has a diesel in the Colorado. Only place diesels haven't taken off is crappy cars.
Lets hope the accord follows the civic and we get a turbo. Not the civic's turbo of course but maybe a turbo. Or at least a turbo model like the V6 model.
The Accord, the CVT may help mileage, but what about durability and longevity. After studying how they work, I DON'T want one, but you have to get a six cylinder and a big price jump for a geared auto transmission. Buy a Camry if you want a real gear box. It doesn't look like the Accord has gone to aluminum suspension, THANK GOODNESS! It should still handle rough roads with long term durability. Also what's wrong with 5 mph bumpers, they may change the look a bit on the front end, but can also save thousands of dollars for a small mistake in driving, I know this first hand.
Im so confused. Nissan and Subaru get tons of flack for putting mostly CVTs in their cars but Honda does the same thing and literally no one says anything. (oh and btw the ones that Nissan builds are often called the best in the business.)
I believe there is a difference in the type of LED DRL they use, there is the DRL that are made of a lot of little LED's and the upper trim version that is one solid light bar that looks more elegant.
I humbly accept my incompetence in this regard but I will say that my wrong answer could have helped reveal the right answer ;) At least the subject is not important enough to get all crazy over...
Accrod as Thailand 2016 with the lowest traction 0.7g, extreme tail flick, extreme slide, 20-100 l/100km by wider rear track than front track chassises. Thais engineers lie as high traction.
6:47 where's the door card!? Also, I bet Mazda is taking a sigh of relief that they never did bring their diesel to the US. Poor sales or even a scandal like VW would kill a small company like Mazda.
+Miles Trevonne I think it does what other cars did for the past ~5 years which is to accelerate and slow down based on the car or object in front of you. You set the speed to 60mph, for example, and if the car in front of you is doing 50, it'll slow down and keep its distance, or stop if you're about to hit something. I don't believe it also follows the road or turns like the optional features on the Genesis, S class, A7, 7 series, etc. I was reading somewhere that in a few years all cars will be required to have self braking so it's becoming more common now.
I 'll give you advice, never trust that much in any technology. Why? Because when something goes wrong, neither car makers nor software programmers nor insurance companies, it's you who will pay. All those technologies to aid you, not instead of you. If don't want to drive, get a driver, human not drone one.
+Miles Trevonne basically it does. You set distance to the car in front of you and it maintain the distance. It also keeps you in the lane for when the road curves left or right. it won't do super winding roads and it will require you to steer the car just a bit to make sure you are still there. Works very well and it does get some getting use to.
TJC450 I kinda enjoyed my nissan though :o The customer service was amazing unlike Volkswagen but does that mean my nissan altima 2007 is poo? I got it for like 7k :o It was my dads :P
+KOSAMA GAME (コドバリノ) I mean they are reliable. But just not as good as the others. The cars they make are ugly and have cheap interiors. Their high end brand Infiniti is very uninspiring. Although they do have some nice exhaust notes.
TJC450 Like Infinity Rims, Custom Trunk to allow more space, better suspensions and customized steering wheel, digital dashboard for some functions like gas and mileage and gps, custom doors my dad welded, etc. So I know the parts compatible with the newer models according to the manufacturer and some testing my dad did so I just wanted to know if in general the car decent maybe I can move some stuff over and save money.
As good as this video was, it was an editing mess. You showed two different Honda Accords and before transitioning to talking about the transatlantic thing, you had music overlapping for a couple of seconds. There's probably more but all these editing screw ups can be seen in almost every other video you produce. You guys really have something great here; make sure presentation is just as good as the content you produce
