After reading some of the viewer complaints, it seems that some people are impossible to please. This car is miles ahead of its previous design. Ironic how people always compare American luxury SUV's to German luxury brands when they can't even afford a Mercedes, BMW, or Audi themselves. Personally I'd compare this to an Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, or Lexus RX. Overall I would consider this vehicle if I was in the market for a luxury SUV.
+J High Yeah I picked up on that when Cadillac released the CT6. It was a RWD biased (though it will have standard AWD), luxurious, not even close to any Chevrolet and people still complained about it. Yet they don't bat an eye when Porsche badge engineers a Touareg and calls it a Cayenne (and I mean LITERALLY badge engineer it. Not counting the "S" model and up the base model is mechanically identical to the VW sibling). In reality the people that continue to complain about Cadillac and Lincoln are people who are German car purists (many of them probably can't even afford one) that complain about their high maintenance costs, their constant electrical problems, but are still dumb enough to continue buying their cars because of the badge. And I think that is what Lincoln wants to avoid. A badge oriented crowd. So let them hate and run their bank accounts dry. I'm happy with Japanese, American, or now, Korean luxury cars. I look at these cars because I am attracted to the product itself and NOT the badge.
+J High - Agreed.I mystery shop, and do a lot of car dealer shops, on the order of fifty shops a year, meaning fifty test drives a year. The MKX is as competitive as it comes, against the other luxury CUV. In fact, its better than the Lexus, Acura, or Infiniti competitors, and the Germans are no where near as comfortable. Period.
+DementedButtHole You hit that nail right on its head. That's exactly why I bought mine. Unlike my coworkers' German and British luxury cars, I won't be spending thousands of dollars to fix and replace parts after the warrantee runs out. I had one coworker who paid $200 to fix the bulb in the headlight housing on her 2008 BMW 740i. And I'm constantly seeing Mercedes Benz Courtesy Cars in the parking lot due to the owners having to leave their new cars while they wait for service. One guy paid $165 to replace the ornament and bracket on his C-Class. That was enough for me to not get one.
The major thing which I found when checking out the MKX 2016 compared to my MKX 2011 is that the space for the driver seemed to be narrower. Also, no mention as to whether the heated seats have finally added heated backs or just the seat portion. No mention of adaptive cruise control or advance collision warning. I love adaptive cruise control which will take the vehicle to a complete stop. The MKX is a great vehicle but unfortunately, if one does not buy the Eco which costs around $8k (Canuck Bucks) extra, the gas mileage is still not good at almost 15 L/100 KM. Fortunately, we don't drive a lot anymore so only add about 2K KM per year so the one we have will last a long time but another MKX will certainly get a look whenever we make a change although it would be fun to own the Jaguar crossover which is due out next year and going forward.
I don't see why this car is getting so much hate. Some of these comments are a bit uncalled for, but everyone's entitled to their opinion. I find the exterior design to be quite nice! It's swooping lines are aggressive, and luxurious. It also fits well with Lincoln's other models. However the plastic trim on the lower parts of the vehicle were a misstep in my opinion. As far as the interior, the design is pleasing aesthetically and there are competitive features, though the quality certainly could be improved. One thing everyone seems to be overlooking is the fact that this car's starting price is THOUSANDS less than its competitors! To my knowledge (correct me if i'm wrong) the only other midsize luxury crossover that has a starting price below $40,000 dollars (this one starts at $38,260) is the Cadillac SRX ($37,605) which is actually based on a compact! Overall it's a pretty good value for a luxury crossover with lots of space and comfort.
So looking forward to new reviews where you actually drive the vehicles you rate instead of just sitting in one, talking about its interior, and giving an estimate on how it would drive.
2.7 twin is a great suv , lots of power which I enjoy in SUV I was looking at this and the Audi . But The Audi is about 17.5k more with the same features/extras .The Lincoln also has more HP which was the deal for me . Why why I pay 17.5k more for the name . When I get more power for cheaper . and the people who think it looks ugly are probably just people who will never like a Lincoln and clicked this video just to complain . AKA Fanboy ism .
+Daniel Blaney Acura should also take note in loading up their "luxury" cars. Not skimp out on the US market and not offer a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats on their TLX when you can get those features on the Accord. It must be the ONLY car in its class that doesn't offer those features even as optional.
He really criticized this all-new Lincoln MKX. In addition I think this all-new Lincoln MKX is heading Lincoln in the right direction with the technology its offering from a powered headrest (usually founded on German cars) and LED available headlamps that many prominent automakers use like Audi and Mercedes-Benz, for example. In contrast to Lexus RX - I think this all-new Lincoln MKX definitely has the looks, technology and innovations that will get Lexus enthusiasts over into a Lincoln showroom - regardless of the loyal customers that Lexus has, and many available features on this MKX isn't found on the all-new Lexus RX. To me I think this vehicle is a winner and packed with technology that can only make one think of something and it is "mind blogging."
Just a hint. If you are going to review the MKX with the optional 2.7 ecoboost engine, take it out on the road! All that power and it just sat there in the parking lot with a simple engine startup the closest it came to showing off. This was basically a 22 minute walk around video.
Camerons Car Reviews You forgot to mention in the video that this Lincoln MKX has a 6-Speed Button-type Automatic Transmission with Sport Mode & Manual Shift Ability via Paddle Shifters.
Front of the car is in a mid - forties post war U.S.A. time warp !! Are Ford telling us that old is the new new ? They make on the whole a stylish range of cars these days, dont think this design would have been approved jn one of their European design offices , looks a nostalgia trip for the home market.
No Idk why this generation of the MKX/ Nautilus has never offered it, but frankly with the half analog & half digital gauge cluster, you probably don’t really need because the gauge cluster is already configurable enough to have it display what you want to see there in the gauge cluster screens
+FordGT06 Actually it is not the mark up it is all the options that it comes with. The Black Label edition can go up to 70k. That one that he showed is just loaded out.
Please stop doing the engine revving............potential Lincoln buyers really are not interested. Think about it!!!! I have ordered one, and am looking forward to the ownership experience. Other than that, good walk around presentation!
Really Ford you and your stupid designersthis car is just like every other Lincoln these days unorigional, confused etc wtf is black label why is the interior so creaky and plasticy why are they copy pasting Audi. their lights, Interiors(door panels are basically a7 look and a6, really that ugly grill againford should just call of this stupid brand its getting worse every yearLincolns are such copycats and if their gonna copy they should do it right Lincoln continental, u mean its a bad Bentley copy
Delshon Knolton what kinda sorry exuse is that? Of course i can afford luxury I work hard in my job a But i will never be giving my cash to an overpriced ford
my wife and I loved the previous 2011-2015 mkx but we didn't like the 2016 mkx at all. there wasn't anything we liked on or about this car. this car is very small inside and uncomfortable.2016 MKX has a big ugly dashboard and the radio area in this car sits terribly high, seats are hard and narrow. We are no longer buying anymore Lincoln mkx. we still have the wonderful luxury 2011 MKX and will be getting the Lexus RS350 next. we wanted to stay with Lincoln MKX but Lincoln change the previous style to this ugly uncomfortable terrible style.
