Mitsubishi is generally underrated. My 2003 (first generation) gave me 225,000 trouble-free miles. Its reliability sold me on the brand. I'm now driving a 2015 Outlander Sport, and I love it overall. My budget just would not allow me to get the bigger model which I wanted. Like it was said in this review, it not the absolute best choice, but where dependability is foremost, you can't go wrong with a Mitsubishi.

I really like Mitsubishi. You get a great value for your car buying dollar. I think people are missing out when they head straight to a Honda, Toyota or Subaru (Bleh) dealer without trying the Mitsu. There loss I guess....It happens to people in a lemming train.

One of the most honest reviews of this SUV I have seen! Thank you for pointing out the positives and negatives and all the features it comes with. Mitsubishi's are reliable vehicles and come with an awsome warranty, we love both of ours (2015 Mirage ES, 2016 Outlander Sport GT AWD). Plus they offer nice rebates on a regular basis (I believe $3,000.00 on the Outlander right now) so you get alot for your money. Thanks again for this awsome review!!! I subscribed! Keep the videos coming!!!

Great review!!! I absolutely love how you went through all the features of the Outlander. I love Mitsubishi and I had no idea some of the features this year had, thank you! It would be great if you could review the Mirage GT or Mirage G4 SE. I have owned a 2015 Mirage ES and now own a 2017 Mirage G4 SE and love it. Thank you for a fair and honest review. I ended up buying 2017 Outlander GT after spending a lot of time and I found many "expert" reviews were critical. They lacked one key difference which you stated "what's important for you" and "take good with the bad". I wanted safety; reliability and seating choice which this vehicle offered at a very competitive price.

Needed a second car for Travel baseball with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Traded in our Jetta for this exact truck, year, model and color. I have had it 2 weeks and put 1200 miles on it. Rides great, decent on gas, plenty of pick up, comfortable and roomy. Picked it up for 19,995 with 60k miles. The only thingsbI wish were better were the on center steering, which is numb and lose and the button feel on the LDW and Proximity button. Other then that it's a great truck so far and ours even came with rear seat DVD player, now I wish I kept my DVD collection. Lol.

I have a mostly highway driven 2015 GT Outlander and I will say that when I turn off ECO mode, I get more response and jump from sitting still. My MPG isn't as good - but really only by 1-2 MPG. Also for passing - I've taken to using the paddle shifters to downshift and get good torque boost... VERY nice review though - I think all the observations are pretty much spot on!

Thanks for the review .. why does everybody go over every detail of the car but skip out on power ? Is it laggy is it powerful? Enough acceleration. Is there enough power on hold . While passing 18 wheelers on highways can you go from 70 to 80 easily or do you have to nearly red line it?

Mine typically averages 26 mpg on a tank when mostly in eco mode running Shell/BP gas (premium recommended) & Lucas Fuel Treatment but has hit just over 28 mpg on a tank. This higher mileage occurs when running around 40 to 50 mph. On interstate running 70mph mileage drops to around 25 mpg in eco mode. Normal mode is more spunky but mileage typically falls to 24 mpg or less.

I have one, only one thing that I didn't agree with you was the Bluetooth connection. I have a samsung phone and it only took me 1 minute to set it all up, never used the control activation. The third row seats could be comfortable for smaller people, but if you are on the average height it may start getting a bit cramped out. Thanks for the review!

There seem to be a lot of empty spaces for missing options on the dashboard and steering wheel. Is this the highest trim level?
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 7 лет назад
Yup. That's all she got, which was quite a bit for a vehicle of this stature. But we're not sure what those extra spots were for, either. Maybe they were leftovers from the EVO parts bin?
@foxtrot685

J High those are for other options that are on the PHEV outlander and not the conventional gas outlander. also, one of the blanks is for the auto stop and go for the engine that we also don't get in the states. it's not indicative that the vehicle is ill equipped.

@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 6 лет назад
We honestly can't say, palebeachbum. Sorry we couldn't help, but thanks for watching!
@crazyjkz
@crazyjkz 6 лет назад
palebeachbum No, this is Mitsubishi's 6B31 3.0L V6 which is an all-aluminum motor with MIVEC and variable-length intake manifold. It was an all-new design that was first introduced in 2006 and was updated in 2010 with a higher compression ratio along with a few other upgrades. The 6G72 3.0L V6 was from the old Mitsubishi Cyclone V6 family which was an iron-block w/ aluminum heads, and it was used in some Chrysler models as well and it came in various displacements up to 3.8L.
@Zach-uq6tp
@Zach-uq6tp 6 лет назад
I miss the 3.8l v6 mitsubishi had. It was a beast.
@crazyjkz
@crazyjkz 6 лет назад
Zachary Valenzuela I agree. From a performance standpoint they would have been better off just updating the 6G75 3.8L MIVEC V6 that was in the 4th gen Eclipse GT. But given this new V6 has only been used in crossover SUVs I think Mitsubishi was looking for greater fuel economy, lower emissions, and a more modern design over the previous V6 family rather than raw power & performance. If that was their reasoning then they did achieve their objective, but at the expense of the above-average performance that the previous 3.8L MIVEC V6 had.

what if the nearest dealer is 70 miles away for warranty repair?
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 7 лет назад
Believe it or not, we know people who do just that, biukucanoe, but in many cases it is with higher-end brands that will pick the car up for you. We admit, it does make things a bit more challenging, especially for routine maintenance/service/dealer visits, but if that's the closest dealer to you, sometimes that's a decision you have to make. Maybe compare the pros and cons with a 2nd choice vehicle that has a dealer near you and see which one outweighs the other. We wish you well with your decision-making process. Thanks for watching!
@biukucanoe
@biukucanoe 7 лет назад
These are a very good deal, we were looking at $18,000 for 2016 with 8,000 miles and could get brand new clearanced ones for $20,000 that was nicer than $25,000 CR-V in April. This is ranked low by some magazines, but it looks nice outside and inside and drives well, but we were turned off by 70 mi drive to dealer - our city does not have Acura or Lexus either. Since we drove that one I notice we drive by one of these rigs about 2 times a day so other people in town don't mind as much. The 4 seemed better than either crV, Venza or Sorrento, and has emergency 3rd row.
