I used to like Chevy trucks than I drove Ford many years but after buying Toyotas, I learned that Ford and Chevy needed repairs more often. It's been about 12 years since I own couple Toyotas and I have never taken them for repairs. I just bought my new 2016 TRD Tundra SR5 5.7 extended cab and it drives great. Gas is not as good as the other trucks but I will rather have a reliable Truck and spend a few cents more on the pump then on repairs! Not to mention the higher trade value over time among other brands.

I had a 2014 1794 edition and I just bought a 2016 1794 4x4 and I loved the first one and I love this one here more. One thing I love about toyota is that I don't have to stay in the shop all the time. I like driving my vehicles and not staying in the shop all the time. I like the bigger gas tank in the 2016 to.

+Phu Doan I'm interested in the Nissan XD, but the Dealership I went to yesterday in my area only has the Platinum edition, and they're asking for 71K,,which in my opinion,,,is not worth it....where did you see it for 40K? Thks.

While some bullshit through out their review, this guy actually knows what's what! 3. thank you for not adding painful music while talkinig. Love the calmness in your vids with unnecessary camera movements!

A good review with honest remarks about the sub-par JBL stereo performance. I wasn't impressed with mine until I first heard FM Hi-def on the Interstate near Albuquerque, wow! Gas mileage is normally in the 14.5-15.5 range but I have gotten in the 18's on a long highway trip. It's a good solid truck that looks good, rides good, and will continue to be reliable with excellent resale value. The other thing I really like about it is that not everyone else has one.

I just purchased a used 2016-1794 Edition Tundra with a low 40,000 miles. It looks and even smells show room floor worthy. After watching your video I even feel more excited about my purchase. Thanks to a happy Tundra owner.

Now four years into my 2016 Tundra 4x4 Limited and still loving it. Half it's life has been towing (19' & 28' camper trailers, utility trailer, & boat trailer - own all four), without complaints. Without towing, the ride is just pure sweet. My one complaint is limited interior storage compartments, but minor since the interior is just huge.

Nice solid review. I agree with everything the reviewer said. I do not own a 1794. I do own a 2014 Tundra DC (double cab) with a 6.5 foot bed (not the Crew cab that was tested here). I've averaged 17.8 mpg, only cause I do let the motor rev up/sing too often. Kinda hard to do with the traffic that I deal with daily. For the mpg fanatics go to fuelly . com and check the tundra against all the other trucks in this class, by browsing the vehicles, unless you go diesel, the average for hundreds or thousands of other pickups is usually within 1, 2, or 3 mpgs. Which is a decent trade off or a very reliable, and extremely well put together truck, that just works.

Love your reviews, and that’s cause you take the trucks and suvs on the washboard road! I think the way a vehicle handles on the washboard road is a big deal, because I’ve driven trucks that drive like garbage and sound like they’re falling apart on them. This review helped me with pulling the trigger on buying a trd off road tundra

7 year old video, but i love my 1794…. 2019.. i’m keeping it till the wheels fall off!…. The QDR in my opinion is Top Notch. The only complaints i have are of course fuel economy, which really isn’t horrible but could be better. As well as the JBL sound system is “OK” but also could be better. In my almost 4 years of ownership i have had Zero problems. I buy my vehicles and keep them long term. Great video…. Subscribed 👍

Had an '07 SR5 TRD 4x4 Tundra, traded it for a 2014 Platinum 4x4 Tundra...love it even more. Toyota makes trucks where you don't have to worry about the mystery oil or coolant leak or my favourite, why is there a Check Engine Light on already??? Pulls my 8k lbs NASH Travel Trailer very well, too! Love that 5.7.

In terms of quality, design, resale value and overall comfort level, Tundra is the best. GMC Sierra is right behind it.
@kencoleman163

You can't go wrong with Toyota. I have a 2014 Tacoma TRD off road and love it. I think next time around I will upgrade to the full size Tundra. I've contemplated the chevy, gmc and ford, but they're much more expensive and quite frankly, I don't care about gimmicky features. I want durability and reliability. Have you seen what happens to the aluminum body and the bed of the f-150? It crinkles and folds under normal work loads. People may shy away from Toyota because it's not "American", but it's actually made right in Texas at their truck plant. phenomenal truck.
@TestDrivenTV
@TestDrivenTV 8 лет назад
Its American parts content as a percentage is actually higher than most American branded full size trucks.
@kencoleman163
@kencoleman163 8 лет назад
never used that analogy. percentage of parts wise, it's more "American" than it's GMC and chevy rivals. I just simply said, it's nice that they build their trucks in Texas. I didn't say Toyota was Bruce Springsien..

It is the bottom rung of pick ups Only has raw steel no high strength steel in its construction. the rest use high strength steel and or aluminum. Tidbits that these reviews seem to never talk about. Also the engine is the thirstiest but the truck despite being lighter is thirstier and slower. The Tundra is weak in the full sized market I guess Sam does not know these tidbits about Toyota trucks.

1.5 million + trucks need to still have the frames replaced at a cost of 3.4 billion to Toyota. 2016 tacoma is close to being labeled a Lemon vibration issues, 30 different Transmission issues, electrical issues, etc.. a veritable Lemon. Instead of sucking the fumes of Toyota you should actually go and look up the complaints and issues

Maddog8148 Do a research for the most reliable . best on the market today is Nissan. as far as reliability is concerned. Titan or Frontier .I would wait and see what the next Frontier will be if you want a midsize truck Titan has won all the awards. topping everything else it came up against.

this is a High Country wannabe. the dash looks like way to much plastic and looks like a regular Corolla interior. that engine waste too much gas. my dad got a High Country 2015 and it looks a lot better inside and has more function and functions inside. and then with Fords ecoboost engines where it can put more power with a smaller engine giving people more mpg. in my 2017 Escape I'm getting 28 mpg. the trd logo doesn't matter, it is just something to make it look cool but it's stupid to put that because they been putting this on none racing vehicles! but I don't see them putting that on any racing car they have, oh wait they don't have any. I would highly recommend getting the High Country than this. and to be honest I don't think the big three are not really concerned about Toyota one truck party, and more focused one each other because Ford just doesn't offer add ons, but higher models F250, F350 and so on...this is priced way too much. don't bother. trd on this truck is just a painted shocks and springs and really nothing to do with racing
@DavidStanleymusic
@DavidStanleymusic 7 лет назад
2016 has turned out terrible for Toyota trucks horrendous reliability issues vibrations , 30 different problems with the transmission, electrical problems, airbag problems radio problems. Horrendous reliability on the 2016 model I hope the 2017 model will be better. It would behoove people to actually go and check the reliability before making claims like you can't go wrong with a Toyota . worst of all people with serious vibration issues being told it is normal.
