A bit late viewing this, but I wanted to thank you for posting this review of the Camaro SS. I actually laughed with you a few times as your excitement about the V8 and its sound is palpable. A very fair review and non-biased as well. As an American, I can safely say that Mercedes has of course led the way in a great many respects to automobiles and their quality/features. Just happy to see the US manufacturers finally taking things a bit more seriously and catching up in some ways. Enjoyed this video very much and thanks again! :)
It’s funny how people think of American cars as inferior when in 10 years time the American cars will be running while the German car will be broken down and worth a tenth of what they were new.
@@mjo3275 I own a Camaro 1LE SS so I am a huge fan. But I have made money on my last two Porsches, and never had a problem with any of them, except one water pump, and I have had four. They are both excellent cars. Drive what you can afford, and enjoy.
@@souravdas5803as an owner of both American and German cars , i agree with what he’s saying about Germans breaking down after specific mileage and HUGE costs
Jeffrey Gicharu Kids on youtube have short attention spans so they don’t understand what a car review actually entails. All they are thinking is “fast car, fast now”. Not stupid, just immature...
I love this current gen Camaro. I seriously want one and as soon as I'm done with my Ioniq, I'm getting one of these. Pity they're officially available in Germany only, as importing one puts some seriously stupid taxes on it, but I'll get it regardless. Every man must plant a tree, build a house, have a kid, and own a V8 at least once in his life. Thanks for the awesome video, that V8 sound, man...
Great review. Yes the interior isn't Mercedes quality but that's OK because it is affordable and the engine and drive train is very rugged and probably as dependable as any AMG.
@@chrislimnios9180 not American but know some Americans and have watched many American road videos, but I think it's due to a lack of training, practice. Where I'm from you have to get many hours of practicing and do a very strict both practical as well as theory exam. And, the rules on the road are stricter, so you aren't allowed to overtake on the right for example, only on the left side. And people are obliged to drive therefore on the right side, unless they want to overtake - on the left, basically. You are taught to still look over your right shoulder and mirror as you move a lane to the right again as an extra safety net, as well as obviously when you want to overtake and move to the left lane.
@@chrislimnios9180 well, there's pros and cons to every country lol. Here, a mustang GT or C7 corvette costs about 150k dollars. In America around 50k 😅😅 But surely, at least people usually are more trained, driving wise
@@SpiDey1500 Germans have lane discipline and most importantly respect for others and the seriousness of driving. Great pleasure to see but couldn't be more different than Australia sadly.
I like all your videos, i'm not English people, i'm not american people, i'm spanish people, and i enjoy all your best videos, Best regarts. My English is very bad so sorry!! Sigue asi amigo!!! Saludos desde Colombia.
My personal favourite. I’d love to buy one. Too bad for the 6.2 L version in Italy you’d have to pay around 5k-6k euros each year because of a bullshit tax we have.
The only way bullshit like that will change is if you all stand up and make it change. Right now, only the "rich" can play in your country. Which is a shame because it's beautiful and the autostrada has some great sections to it. That is not to say we don't have our own issues here in the states. Lots of corruption and influence against the will of the people as well.
I have road tested for 10 km a jet black camaro today and the look on people faces has been flawless, some grin because how young I am and how loud it was, the exhaust line has been changed, during the inspection, I checked what it was supposed to look OEM, but dude's car was with modified mufflers, no resonator too. The tires were slicks with 2 line for the "rain" at 2=32s in the back on the 2 lines of the tire and 3/32 in the front. Only 75k km and drove like new! The only thing is the visibility at the back, but who you be looking back at anyway?? 😅😅 Those musle cars are really for small Ds tho Get yallselves a 4 doors or ego yallselves outta here😂😂
Show me another brand new car you can buy besides a mustang gt that for around 36k can go 180 mph....lol. The 6th gen Camaro is beast.. Great video, keep it up.
Teo Monteblanco Not anymore. Unfortunately the 2018 Stangs jumped up in price massively. Now the Camaro is the most affordable. Not sure why Ford did that.
My neighbor with a 12k exhaust which is supposted to be the loudest legal exhaust in Germany , sounds awsome and you hear him through the whole Village Very good looking car with a perfect sound for that price its a cool car ngl But the tax and gas prices in germany for that car is insane
The 1LE version of the SS is quite impressive. Better than a C7 Corvette in every way, imo. Extremely stiff chassis, especially compared to a C7. High grip in corners. The mag ride is controlled and comfortable at high speeds, and the brakes have better feel and power over the standard SS. Well built Tremec manual gearbox with great shifting feel. The build quality of the Camaro is excellent. Not one rattle in any of the three I have owned now, unlike my VW GTI and Porsche 991.2 which have annoying rattles you have to track down. Interior materials are cheap plastic, no doubt. The only thing they really lack performance wise is steering feel, imo. Definitely not as precise as a Porsche, but half the price, and much cheaper to maintain if you need a part. Thanks for the review!
@@nicoth7184 The GTI Mk7 is the best daily car I have ever owned. 4 doors, decent back seats, hatchback, plenty of power, excellent build quality, nice interior, great in the rain, great brakes, 28mpg. The best thing about the GTI is the suspension. It is the perfect blend of sport and comfort for the street, imo. Always confidence inspiring, no matter what maneuver you are attempting, and deceptively fast with the turbo 4 cyl torque down low. I did have one rattle, but I tracked it down to the passenger door panel, and got it stopped now. My SS 1LE Camaro is fun, but not as practical as the GTI. The Camaro is a great performance car, but loud, stiff, hard to get in and out of, lacks interior storage, trunk is not as practical, useless back seats, cheap interior, 18mpg. It does have a big bad V8, and a killer manual trans, with giant powerful brakes, so there is that :) The Porsche 991.2 was very nice as you might expect, but $94,000 used with low miles. Nuff said. I won't daily a car that expensive, but one certainly could. The suspension was nearly as stiff as the 1LE Camaro, and 911's are pretty loud with rear tire noise when you are trying to make a phone call. It was substantially faster than the Camaro. PDK is nice, but no magic bullet like the journalists try to claim. It still doesn't read your mind about what gear you want to be in, and shifts around randomly like all automatics. Too high of a gear most of the time, and then you give it half throttle and it downshifts and accelerates like crazy. I still prefer a manual trans.
@darthnatas953 Okay, thanks for the Review , in the future, I want to buy the camaro ss. i guess, but I don't know if I should buy the zl1e Version. Do you think the normal ss Version is enough? ( I want to use it as a daily)
@@nicoth7184 Ok, so I actually know a good deal about this as well, as my son has the base SS, and I have the SS 1LE, both manual trans, both 2023 models. The base SS is significantly softer suspension wise, and that is the biggest difference. Still the same great V8 engine and Tremec trans on both. Although the SS 1LE has adjustable mag ride suspension, even the softest touring setting on it is harder than the base SS. If you like a pretty hard edge sports car, you will like the 1LE. I love mine, but I daily the GTI. The base SS is still a great car, and $8,000 cheaper. Hard choice. Tire noise is quieter on the base SS. Putting Michelin 4S tires on the 1LE helps with the tire noise, but they are expensive. The Goodyear tires the 1LE comes with are nearly unusable in the rain due to hydroplaning. You will have to replace these to daily it, IMO, and they wear out quickly anyway. Maybe 12,000 miles tops. They don't have much rain grooves in them to start with. The Recaro seats in the 1LE are nicer, but not Porsche or VW GTI nice. Both of our cars are 1SS (the cheapest interior package), and I think they are entirely adequate interior wise. I would rather spend the money on the 1LE package than have a base 2SS. The 1LE comes with the adjustable exhaust that sounds awesome. Quiet on stealth mode, and loud on sport and track. Love it. If I had to buy one today, for me, I would get the 1LE again if I had the money. I think the extras are worth it, and it will probably hold it's value better. If you bought a new 2024, the last year of the Camaro, and kept low miles on it, it will probably never go down in value. Oh, I forgot, the huge brakes on the 1LE are just killer, with better feel and more powerful than the base model. That is a good reason right there to get it. The only things these Camaro's lack is good steering feel, and an interior design without much storage. The steering is accurate, but not much feel at all. Love them both. The poor view out is a total non-issue for me. You get used to that in a week. If you get a chance, drive them both and you can see if the suspension is too stiff for you on the 1LE, or too soft on the SS. Enjoy!
Come on, the interior is not that bad. Yeah, it's nothing like BMW or Mercedes (although the latest Mercs start to look like they've fired anyone with taste), but for the price it just matches the standard. On the other hand, I wonder how much it REALLY costs to make an interior the quality of BMW, and how much more expensive Camaro would be. Because from where I stand, it seems putting in some nicer plastics, a few aluminum accents here and there and a few patches of alcantara shouldn't be $40k more those German manufacturer assholes want.
If you want better interior go and buy your euro fart boxes. To be honest the interior is pretty good and functional. You are not paying for the interior when you buy this car you get that LT1 engine and the nice handling.
@@johnschotz1614 hole? What u meant by hole. Look at the price of this car. A 330i BMW has better interior but came with standard 2.0 four cylinder engine that sounded like a diesel. On top of that it is pretty gutless and unrefined. Be prepared to wind it everytime you want it to go. Unlike the old 3 litre straight 6 unit the current four cylinder is just uninspiring and standard. You do however get better built interior than the Camaro. By your logic if you are buying the whole package then none of the euro fart boxes at this price range can match the Camaro ss.
This isn't a 1ss , its a 2ss auto = $8500usd more brand new . In Australia we don't sell 1ss in clotn trim either . 2ss auto with sunroof here $85,800aud / taxed $18000
Its the opposite here in the usa ... you see tons of german cars , yes you also see amercan muscle cars and ponny cars but a lot of people tend to go for gernman cars as they deminate the performance and luxury market along with reliability
victorfilm I live in Florida and yes I see tons of corvettes but where I live (south Florida) German cars dominate the market. Porsche everywhere along with Mercedes and now Alta romeo its going up very strong ! (The average household income in my area its over 100k although me and my parents don't make anything close to that Lol ) maybe soon though ... Anyway I'm getting off topic.
German cars are reliable? Are u fckin kidding me? I can write u books about issues with vw engines. My friends shop is full of vws that need 2000$ repair for the engine after 70k miles.
The newer Camaro SS models are crazy fast track cars all this shit about German performance STFU honestly. I really enjoyed this review it was GREAT to see an American car on this channel 💯 I get so sick of hearing that shit about performance this and that i OWN three modified sports cars one of which is a bolt on 2010 Camaro SS for two years now I haven’t been bested by ANY newer bmw or Benz or Audi yet, Many have tried. Many have lost. Newer Camaros and Mustangs are GREAT CARS AND they are cheap 👍🏾
Anes Burzic if you want my advice, get a used one, much better bargain than a new one, in my opinion at least, the red interior in mine and the quad exhaust/NPP made me fall in love with it at the dealer.
@@392Eleventh It's good for me to think about the equipment and the exhaustion of that car, I'm 21 years old, and from Europe, I am more precise from Bosnia and Herzegovina, so since I do not earn much, I have to wait for when I earn money, then I will choose the equipment and the rest ...
In my opinion this car has a very good aerodynamics because You say 280 and the wind is silent. J watched Your video with S class and J think in S class the wind is doing more noise than Camaro. Please comment
the difference between the autobahn and any American freeway when it comes to other drivers: slow people actually get out of the fast lane on the autobahn. Us americans have pride or something blocking us from leaving the fast lane when going slow.
