J D I think when more exhaust options comes out we will hear better ones. Looking forward to the HKS one. However this is definitely a cheaper option as oppose to buying a 1.5k+ exhaust

How was the drone? How long did you keep it like this?

@@unfussylobster Drone is most noticeable at 2.5k to 3k rpm range. I actually still have this setup!

Yup my muffler deleted GTI sounds just like that.

I kept the cats. only removed the mufflers and resomators

Deleted the midpipe resonators. The middle tip still has it

it's just backfire, my 98 civic gurgles at low revs also and i did a muffler delete.

there was definitely drone. There are a bunch of exhaust options out there now. I would recommend buying an exhaust than doing what I did.

Well I went threw with it. Sounds badass. I haven’t driven a loud car in a while so I still getting used to it. My last car was a 15 sti full catback with dp But the type r sounds freaking awesome.

I'm not sure many people have been removing that. The exhaust system is pretty unrestricted from cat-back and most everything there is designed to make it the best of both worlds. According to a Honda engineering interview the middle resonator for the tri-tip exhaust is basically its way of creating variable exhaust sound. Under high flow a lot of exhaust goes through the resonator which creates a louder noise. Basically when it sounds good that's the center resonator at work. Under low flow the center resonator gets "stopped up" by the resonant frequency it creates and effectively cancels out that growl noise which quiets down the whole exhaust system inside the car. This makes highway cruising more enjoyable.

Yes, exactly. The middle tip is just a resonator to change the sound for droning purposes. I see some people remove it but, doing so does not make it any louder than what I have already.

nope, you only lose warranty coverage if the dealer can prove my deletes causes an engine failure, etc....

Yes, straight pipe on a turbo car will allow more air flow, less restriction. Can thus tune more hp

@@aldeezy87 had it done in 2017. It's not that bad. It's loud for sure but I would recommend at least keeping one of the resonators. It drones a bit when you cut both
