2017 Mazda CX-5 - Review and Road Test 

I did an extended test drive of this car and was really suprised how great it drove, coming from a BMW 340i. Power is great. It's not a Lambo but the HP does well and the car feels that it has a lot more HP than it does. Love KB's reviews all the time but disagree a lot on this one. Best SUV in the segment, IMO

Kudos to Mazda designers , it is a gorgeous car that looks and feels way above its price, i own a 2015 CX5 and i still find it awesome after 3 years .

Love how you filmed this at the Laguna Niguel lake, Moulton, Avery, Niguel, Crown Valley, etc. All around my backyard. It made watching the already good review that much more entertaining.

I got my CX-5 GT on June 12, and I love it! My only disappointment is that for a 4-cylinder vehicle with 187HP, the mileage does not live up to Mazda's advertised numbers, particularly in the city, as I struggle to get 19-20 mpg. I haven't taken a long highway trip yet, so I cannot comment on highway mileage. Other than that, it is a great car! Stylish (my friends love it), quiet, feels upscale, great handling and driving dynamics, lots of technology and a great Bose audio system! What more can a girl ask for??? :-)

I have two cx5's and I love them. They drive nice, they are fuel efficient, and they look nice. Yes, I would like a little more lumbar support. Add memory foam on lumbar section and it will be a winner.

Update after owning car after 5 months: still love it, but I have noticed an increase in wind noise when using the car in the highway. Still happy with my lease, just wish I had chosen the touring model with white leather and all tech stuff.

We just purchased a 2020 Mazda Cx 5, so far I'm very happy with it. I miss my Lexus but it was time for a SUV and I don't regret it. I do miss my speed of the Lexus but I love the roomy interior and gas mileage

The CX-5 is definitely a great CUV alternative for people like me who want something a little bit different than the compact CUV stalwarts: the CR-V and the RAV4.

There's a reason why this is the most popular SUV in Australia. The Kodo Design language is really hammering the competition!

This is much better looking than its rival CUVs like the Honda CR-V. Plus it's great to know that it has a 6 speed auto transmission instead of a CVT.

such a beautiful vehicle mazda has made, but still need some improvements in order to complete with others. for me the crv is the best overall car in the segment. reliable, good looking, spacious and practical cabin, decently powerful, good fuel economy, and well equipped.

HI, I have a question: I own a Mazda3 here in Colombia where services are recommended to be done every 5000 kilometers (3106 miles) which I think is waay too often! I want to know the maintainance in the United States. I found out in Canada is every 8000 mi which is12874 kilometers and when I made the conversion I was shocked, but I also noticed that the said maintainance is made to canadian driving conditions which made me wonder that chek ups in Colombia are more often because of the poor quality of our streets... Anyway too much info for such a little info tip I wanna know. And yes im typing this in all KBB Mazda reviews :)

Woaaah! So nice. But yesterday pergi showroom Kia Sorento. Superb! Design sangat cantik.

Just dont understand what people are complaining about the power, IMO plenty of power and torque, more importantly it comes about in a lovely linear fashion. Very fun CUV to drive. For the information, I own a stage 2 GTI and THIS is the one I prefer to drive!

I like how Mazda includes a HUD in their upper trims but you can't find it in many other cars

Hey guys, I will be getting a new car soon, I've been think about getting this car for a long time because it is simply amazing. What i mostly like about it is the luxury it has inside. Now this weekend I had to rent a car to drive from miami to naples, and I ended up renting a nissan altima 2017. It was a very smooth drive, and it made me doubt the mazda. My question is: is the mazda cx5 a smooth car to drive? do you hear and feel the road constantly? I want to test drive it, but my fear is that the seller will push me to buy the same day, and I sell out easy under pressure! thanks!

I just rented a 2017 Nissan Rouge having less than 12k miles, the rattles and ridiculous mpg in this car made me ponder why would someone purchase it! I'm in the market for a new car and this red gem is on the list, great review!

I have to ask, is Canada the only place to get unlimited milage warranty? I have a 2016 cx5 for the wife and we commute 50,000km+ a year so warranty is a must for us. I am looking to upgrade my 2012 mazda3 to a 3 hatch or new cx5 (wife wants me to get cx5, I want a 3). Both come with unlimited milage 5 year power train warranty here. I love my mazda3 and my cx5 and honestly both have given me minimal issues (cx5 had a axle seal squeak and my mazda3 had the ac compressor chirp) I have the warranty but I don't think I will have to use it. I was looking at Honda and Toyota but their warranties are laughable (milage is too low) and I know Mitsubishi does 7 years 200,000km here but for me that's 3.5 years of warranty

The white seats look great for the first couple weeks but they turn dark real fast.

"And the blatantly unrefined RAV-4" Lol that's perfect. Toyota is trailing a bit behind with many cars, such as the Corolla, Camry, and a couple others. Even my car as well. I hate how they deliberately did not put push button start, or keyless entry in there on a 25k car, when even the Mustang offers it as standard. And I've also got the RC knobs for climate control. But of course, I didn't buy the car for its features.

Unless you have a boring life you won't find this fun to drive. I drive a ram 2500 PW and my wife drives a Nissan Armada platinum. So yes, coming from those tanks to driving this little go kart was friggen fun today at the test drive and I'm buying one!

Can anyone who owns this tell me if the road noise is loud? I currently have a 2012 Mazda 3 and the road noise is so damn loud when I'm on the highway. I have to jack up the volume so much to hear over the road sounds.

All Mazda seats need extra lumbar - bring your own lumbar support is a must for good back health. Subies are the same way.

I watched many reviews on this car and there is one thing everyone is saying...that it's under powered or that it should get a turbo charged engine...but the truth is I think this car is just fine exactly how it is for starters how many crossovers have a proper 6 speed automatic not many that I can think off...the rogue which is a class above has nearly the same amount of HP from its engine which is paired with that horrible CVT transmission and yet it sells like hot cake and people don't complain about it's horrid engine and heavy frame...so I think Mazda nailed it for a day to day drive it's perfect...plus it handles well which I can't say that many cross overs could

I was going to get a mazda3 hatch but since the new cx-5 is out I'll spring for it. The extra space will come in handy one day

I love my 2015 CX 5!! ANNNNND... its faster than the CRV, RAV4, TIGUAN TSi, MITSU OUTBACK SPORT and ROGUE(raced 1 the other week).
