Last year he said Lewis has never won the opening race of a season and then go on to win the WDC. Lewis won at Bahrain and lost the title at the end. The Crofty jinx is a real thing 🤣🤣🤣
Crazy to see Vettel so upbeat here. Little did he know that after this event the Asian nightmare weeks for Ferrari started: Double DNF in Singapore (where Ferrari proved to be absolutely dominant) through a costly mistake at the start; in Malaysia Vettel's engine problems made him start from last place, unable to take advantage of the stuggling Mercs again and losing further ground in the WDC. Not to mention the freak incident with Stroll after the race. Räikkönen meanwhile could have taken points of Hamilton but had a DNS on race day. In Japan Räikkönen got a five-place grid penalty due to an unscheduled gearbox change, making him start in the midfield and taking him out of contention. Vettel meanwhile suffered a worse fate with being out after 4 laps with a spark plug failure. Points for Vettel during the Asian rounds: DNF + 12 + DNF = 12 (Hamilton: 25 + 18 + 25 = 68). Points for Ferrari during the Asian rounds: DNF + 12 + 10 = 22 (Mercedes: 40 + 28 + 37 = 105) Those 3 races might have decided both Championchips.
I cried after lap 1 in Singapore. In Malaysia and Japan I was just sad... At these times, I made my private statistics. Asian GP's and specially Singapure has been lots of points for Seb. But didn't.
Yep and lets not forget that all the points Ferrari lost, merc gained aswell. Only singapore alone was atleast a 35 points swing in the championship. Cause instead of Vettel winning and hamilton finsishing 3rd or 4th, Hamilton won and vettel didn't get anything
Annoying as hell if you ask me....and no Im not Ham/Mercedes fan either if you ask, Vettel's overreactions are always annoying as hell to listen. Perhaps because Im a Finn and I can appreciate more this sort of down-to earth celebration: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9HJ7KzWSX7w.html
TrueVaexel ™ hoping he will get his 1st podium using Honda Engine, but lets wait for the next season because its gonna be a McLaren-Renault/Renault-McLaren...not McLaren-Honda anymore
Firebrand I think he acted like that because he was surprised that he got pole because red bull had a very very strong one-lap pace I thought red bull would get pole
Subi_fan - they may be a British channel but are being broadcast worldwide; hardly good to have evident bias towards drivers. Also hence my Channel 4 comment.
No it didnt start there... it started immediately after the summer break when he had 3 technical issues in a row and then this crash came around.. thats without counting entanglements with Max for the whole of the 2017 season :D with better luck that title was possible since Lewis had a shit year and made many although small but still many mistakes
Since Schumi, and Alonso, Vettel has been the most steady, consistent and world class driver. F1 has changed a lot since the hey days never really watch but love his driving style, fast, clean and always have total control. Go Vettel.
Ari Soler What the hell? Are all Germans still Nazis? You're talking shit man.. how can somebody so dump and selfish? So much hate in a german team? But the best cars are from Germany: Mercedes, Audi, BMW, VW... I don't know how someone can be so aggressive. Think before you speak.
i miss the days when the cars sounded like rampaging beasts tearing through the tunnel at Marina Bay. Singapore is still my favorite cos i saw the last non turbo race and the final Turn 10 suicidal chicane before things got soft forever.... all my love to singapura
watching the Qualy live early today, the faces of Wolff and Horner when Vettel put the first fast lap in Q3,were priceless, they should put that in the highlights!!
The guy on the right next to Jos Verstappen at 3:35 is the ex-prime minister of the Netherlands, and while he's getting hyped by the fact that Max gets a possible pole, Jos couldn't give two shits.
Funny how people (mostly Ricciardo fans) said Ricciardo would get pole in Singapore, because he's the quickest here. And now he's even behind his teammate, LOL.
Being a Sauber driver at the moment is a thankless task with Marcus and Pascal left to fight to avoid the wooden spoon . Such a waste of a good talent in Pascal in that car.
On a different subject, I think that this track gives a good example of why I think the asphalt runoffs are important to this current formula, with how difficult overtaking already is, not having extra room beyond the curbs means you can't squeeze in overtakes the same way you can on tracks with runoff. Or to put it another way, without runoff to reduce the pressure on overtakes, the winner is chosen during qualifying (as it often is on this track) and the race is just a question of not getting beaten on strategy and not breaking down. Essentially the race doesn't have any racing. It soundly make sense to get rid of the runoff without cars that can run closer.
New Track Record for Sebastian Vettel : 1m 39s, 491. 49th career pole position. Behind the red bull. Nico Hulkenberg is 7th place and Mclaren Honda 8th and 9th place. Mission accomplished.
enjoy the moment while u can lil ferrari fanboy. Mercs will dominate Ferrari's ass in the upcoming races. How did u feel when ferrari got ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED in their home race huh?
Luca Mino Frustrated? Not really we are happy with the third row and will maybe try to choose a better strategy than the others. But you know we know that we have a fast car which is not the best on slow tracks like monaco, budapest and singapore. So we are not not as disappointed as you maybe imagine we are.
Let's be real... NO ONE would've driven that 2017 Ferrari better than Vettel. The Red Bull was the faster car on this circuit (and in Mexico) and both times Vettel was ahead of two other great drivers in the faster car (Max and Ricciardo). This was the last season where Vettel was still on his prime. After Monza in 2018, he wasn't the same Vettel anymore.
All over the Australian TV news was how well Ricciardo was doing. It was like he was the only driver out there, because no other driver's name was mentioned. However...NOTHING on the news tonight, especially as Ricciardo is BEHIND his teammate and the guy he called "The Kid" Vettel. But that's the Australian way. Published results are, Winner...Ricciardo.
Yes and Ricciardo is on of the best qualifiers. Also, this is Ricciardo's 7th season in F1, so he has a lot more experience. If only Max' car wouldn't had let him down so often this season. I think he'll be leading the race tomorrow after turn 1. Mark my words!
