From owning a '13 now '16 Outback, I find the paddle shifters main use is for occasional engine breaking down a long descent or to aid in stopping.

what are the PORs & CONs of getting the 4 cylinder vs getting the V6? I heard that the V6 weighs a lot more & doesn't have THAT much better acceleration. I wonder how much longer it would take the V6 to (break) come to a fullStop from 60mph compared to the standard 4 cylinder.

question for all the car experts :) 2.5i premium vs CR-V 2017 EX difference should be around 4-5k after taxes and blabla.. Which one to go for? obviously saving 5k is better.

in the 2017 model I saw there seemed to have a track pad in the center front console beside the shiffter? what is this?

So I am debating between two cars that I plan on choosing between later this year. I know you reviewed both the Legacy here and the 2017 Mazda 6. My major concern right now is how they do with winter driving. My first car was just a 2000 Dodge Avenger, but when that crapped out I got a 1999 Ford Ranger which has 4 Wheel Drive. I have since become spoiled to how it handles int he snow. I love the Mazda 6, but the Legacy has my interest peaked with the standard AWD. Do you have any opinions or experience with either in winter conditions? Does the Mazda 6 hold its own well enough or should I let the AWD in the Legacy override everything I love about the 6?

The Subaru has a 3.6 litre Boxer engine. It is NOT a V-6. It is a flat diametrically opposed engine.
