Another job for a friend. He uses this car for work and likes to stay on top of maintenance/repairs to keep the car reliable. These brakes were not low enough to bother changing and could have been cleaned up. I must say though after installing the new parts the stopping ability of the car improved significantly.
Drum brakes are something that many people do not like to do. They are certainly trickier than an average disc replacement and definitely more dirty. Washing the brakes before taking them apart will keep some of the black dust out of your sinuses. Keeping all your parts organized and one side together will help you with reassembly.
