Vamos Garbi! really love her style of play - aggressive but great on defence too. she's also capable of winning on any surface which is the mark of a true champion. VAMOS!
Congratulation Garbine for your fantastic title here in Cincinnati. You play a really terrific tennis during this week. For me the 2 more impressive player of the season are muguruza and svitolina, I will make my favorites for the US OPEN. Muguruza is definitely the succession. I think taht she's the future world number one. When she plays her best tennis no one can beat him. She's stronge with her serve, her forehand and she has the best backhand of the tour. But the difference with the other player is her mental, she has definitely a huge mental, she always has the desire of win, she has the "grinta".She comes out of difficult situations and she never renounce. She' s definitely a full player ! Garbine is my favorite player !
I think it's time to recognize that Garbiñe Muguruza is the best player on tour right now... Power, sneaky athleticism, much more improved consistency, and a fearless confident attitude which has also greatly improved. And remember she is just 23 years old and has as many slams as Azarenka. It's time to consider her among the elite of the WTA especially after her performance against Venus at Wimbledon and Serena at the French last year. Finally Muguruza's consistency is coming together and she's been very impressive this summer. I'm hoping that she makes another GS run at the US Open and has some epic matches against Serena next year. Good luck and Vamos Garbiñe!
let's see the good part. last year Kerber made the semis of Rogers Cup. she then made the final where she was trashed by Pliskova, where she could become n1 and than won the USO. now Halep made the same, hope it will be a deja vu at this USO
This year has been so funny. Nobody wants to be number 1. Kerber played so bad whole year so she doesn't need to carry that tag but it still stuck with her for like 6-7 months. Pliskova get it without wanting it as Halep couldn't seem to win that next round/match which will make her the number 1. Muguruza deserve to be the number 1 as she had won 2 slams and quiet consistent this year. Kerber needs to find back that grit whereas Pliskova and Halep needs to win a slam asap.
Man, Garbi the Spanish Barbie made it look easy. She's _really_ improved since the first time I've seen her (which was in the 2015 Australian Open.) This babe actually looks determined to win the US Open. Ahhhhhhhhh....I'd really love to see that.
Jay Jones It would be amazing if she wins it mate. We just got to wait and see what kind of Venus shows up. With Venus, the first two round are crucial in any major tournaments. But I just made my prediction based on the 2017 US open series.
J-tallica 1 let's hope. But its a bit frustrating. Simona is a good thinker and you tell from her point construction. But at the moment it looks like she is getting in a habit of loosing crucial matches. The minute the opponents blow her of the court she gives up without a fight. The only way she can win the us open is by getting an easy draw which is possible because she is a number 2 seed.
From the score 3-1 in muguruza s match, her coach Cahill told Helep that Muguruza is playing so well day and it will be hard to beat her wich misleaded and demoralized halep
I like Garbine and Simona Simona has been unlucky lately She plays well getting to finals and than she gets nervous and makes alot off errors n falls apart in finals Her time will come but she does deserve to be No.1 for now She has been winning Garbine she looks confident and comfortable coming into finals She will become ranked No.1 by next year Feb 2018 ..(.I think ) Congrats to Garbine
As much as I want Simona to win a slam, I can't see it happening until she sorts her head out. Lately, she seems to have developed the same problem as Zvonareva and Safina always had: she's unstoppable for a whole tournament, but when it comes to finals she just crumbles into a shell of the player she's been for the past week. I really hope she can somehow improve her mentality and maybe kick herself up the arse a bit so she can start getting the results she deserves.
She has the game to be No.1. Consistency is her challenge now. She has already proven she can win the big tournaments. Let's hope she can do it more often.
Muguruza is undoubtedly the best player in the world right now. That will probably change when Serena is back next year, but for the next few months she has limitless possibilities.
As much as everyone is now putting Mugu as the favorite for the US Open, I still would put Pliskova, Svitolina & possibly Konta before her as my fav. She still is up there though.
Muguruza, Wozniacki, Svitolina and Halep are this year's favourite among the top 10. Outside top 10 I'll pick Keys, Vandeweghe, Kontaveit and Konjuh to capture the last slam of 2017.
Halep got smoked by Svitolina in Toronto and now Muguruza in Cincinnati. She really needs to improve on her mental games if she wants to win a grand slam.
As much as I love Serena and Respect her. I really wish that she would retire. She had her time. She has nothing to prove. Let the future of our sport prosper. They won't get the chance if the same person keeps winning.
Halep promises so much, but lacks the firepower she needs to win big matches against power opponents.Murgaruza on the other hand has the power and this will stand her in good stead against all women in the top 10.
Horrible final, Halep played dead & tired, no energy whatsoever. Sadly this is becoming a trend for her in finals, she needs to turn this around in the next final.
There's something wrong with womens rankings if Halep can become no. 1 when she hasn't won any slams at all and is CLEARLY not in the same league as the grand slam winners like Williams and Muguruza. Same deal as when Wozniacki was no. 1 with no real claim at all.
Muguruza was good but there was really no depth on Halep's shots here making it way too easy for the Spaniard to step inside the court and hit a winner. Just bad, really...
Simona either tanked the match on purpose, (match fixing?), or she has the Murray disease, i.e. always the "runner up" for many years... She did well for so many matches and then played like a zombie in the finals.
Why not this year? Pliskova has a lot of points to defend at the US Open and has not yet indicated that she can defend them, a semifinal appearance could easily do it for Garbiñe.
Azarenka in a custody battle for her son and Sharapova had a minor left forearm injury that she needed to withdraw from cinci in order to be ready for US Open.
Since that moment ,Muguruza has won zerrow, and Halep has won 2 slams... really change a lot,and she's mentally tougher now, while Muguruza is quite weak 😢😢😢
I have to admit it is hard for me to appreciate what she accomplished at the slams, with her lack of consistency at the regular tournaments. Moreover, I feel strongly that if she is to supplant Serena, it will only be because of Serena's decline. She clearly does not have the tennis skills or athleticism as Williams'. I can respect how she fights or competes.
Dominique Town I think it's interesting that it's hard for you too appreciate what she's done at the slams and then compare her to the Williams' because she is the ONLY player ever to beat BOTH Williams Sisters in a GS Final... and this is coming from a HUGE Serena fan.
Cody Hurley are you on drugs? Mugu is YOUNG & FIT, QUICKER but not stronger mentally but with that said, Mugu was suppose to beat both Serena and Venus in finals despite the sisters being old as dirt! My point is, the younger players beating older players isn't a big deal but older players beating young fit players is a bigger deal and when old ass Serena is not injured, NO ONE CAN BEAT HER!! when Mugu beat Serena in a final, Serena was injured and it's well documented! When azarenka beat Serena at the Miami open once, Serena was injured and again, it's well documented and if you don't believe me, watch the match and listen to your commentators, they'll tell you that Serena is injured! So once again, when Serena is injured, she is u stoppable, prime example of when Sharapova got lucky and beat an injured Serena in 2004 for Wimbledon title. Sharapova has NOT ONCE beaten Serena in a slam since then! Those fluke wins against Serena means nothing! As for Venus, her health is very serious yet, she's still made it to two slam finals this year and is still kicking most of the young girls asses lol
Everything except the tennis is highlighted, for eg player's changing sides, taking the balls, towel down, walking back to start the point, everything except good tennis is there on all your videos, WTA why don't you learn something from tennis tv and ATP where all the other activities are almost cut out and only good rallies are uploaded. We dont want to see how the player's are taking the ball or how fast they change sides, we want to see good rallies and I'm sure there would have been many more good rallies than what you'll have put up. Don't test the patience of people and not all are interested in the beauty and shape of the female player.
horrible highlights, i would not even call it highlights, editing sucks big time, and you block videos of users who actually put some effort into it. shame. gg Muguruza anyway, terrific season so far
GoonGala GaminG To be quite honest. This match didn't have a lot to highlight. Simona played pure Shit, and it was a match simply full of errors, mainly from Simona.
Again, Halep is the quitter ! she always fall on big occasions regardless of the opponent she play against . She is not a GS champion material..I think she need help, not technical since she is a good player!
Hoang Lai if women's Tennis is a joke, then the ATP is outright the laughing stock of tennis all together because it's the same *THREE* people winning slams consistently in which is Federer Nadal and *JuicerDjoker!* Not one male on the ATP has won slams back to back In the last 10 years except the three I've mentioned before. A complete Fkn JOKE!!! Again, the ATP is down right awful and there is no entertainment on the ATP side! All you get is power players who make noise every time they hit the ball as if they are gasping for air!
No. It's great seeing new players win and not the same. Serena had her time. Hate to be harsh but she should retire. She has nothing to prove. Let the future stars take over.
+Nickelwindow53 LOL! Serena's already won enough titles. She doesn't have a whole lotta time left as a tennis player, considering her age. It's time for the young chicks to have a chance.
It means Halep a dumbass can't win in absence of Serena, Sharapova and Azarenka... she is not even close to them... and moreover Muguruza won her first grand slam against Serena in straight sets
2016 was not Serena's name. Sharapova and Azarenka are rusty. Also Haley is not as mentally strong as she was back in 2015. Look at the 2015 Miami open against segena
