If you have a Rubicon, it’s a little bit more difficult. Plus all the hardware that comes with it, you don’t even need for the Rubicon. The Rubicon already comes with two bolts. You don’t even need the washer and nuts that come with kit.
Thats because the wiring isn't easy. Quadratec has a great install video if your jeep does not have factory towing. Which i assume not and that is why we're both here rn
Watching the video it looks like the receiver is quite loose fitting over the bumper frame tube. Does that tighten up with the bolts, or do you need to install washers/spacers to take up the play?
What about torque and the instructions mention some frame bolts that need to be removed. I came here to try and get a clearer understanding of the parts that need to be removed.
ordered the kit in this video. in the middle of install now. my jeep already had a plate on the frame that was attached with bolts, and 2 welded on nuts. I removed the bolts but cannot get the plate with the welded on nuts out. it is loose but cannot be pulled through. and the part I purchased cannot slide over the existing plate with welded on nuts. hoping someone can help...
I have the same issue, Ralph. The MOPAR hitch's instructions reads like a United Nations cocktail list. the pictograph looks nothing like the underside of my Rubicon's steel bumper. Did you resolve?
I think it's really annoying but funny that every video on the internet including U-Haul doesn't tell you about the annoying bracket that needs to come out of the bumper first before installation. It DOES NOT come out very easy LOL
I have 2020 JL Unlimited Rubicon with Tow Package. Would this work to replace factory 1 1/4" receiver? I realize it won't increase tow capacity, but everything I already own (bike carrier, winch mount, etc.) requires 2" receiver.
