Waist of money, this thing does nothing In terms of horsepower gains. That’s why Mishimoto doesn’t claim any horsepower gains on their website! They only claim up to 39% more flow. You can get that with a drop in Airaid or K&N filter for far less money.
As for the airbox, there is no reason a properly installed, 50-state legal assembly will affect you’re warranty. BUT... BUT... That “lifetime” or “oiled” air filter is a cause for debate. Proper cleaning and maintenance is essential with an oiled filter. If you don’t, the pores are a lot larger and will let through dust and dirt that can cause damage. Considering the tight tolerances of a turbocharger, this is very important. If you are meticulous, AND fully document your maintenance of this oiled filter, you will mitigate warranty denials, but may not avoid it without quite a fight. Couple that with the double-edged sword of, the oil will attract dust and dirt, restricting flow, causing you to have to clean it more often, but that takes effort and time, and could lead to reduced filtration because of... you get my point. Now, on the other hand, Mishimoto have been making quality parts for turbocharged systems for years. Take good care of your vehicle and it will take care of you.
