Good tips, about to pull the trans in a 16 Durango AWD and alldata says starter is 5.6 hours. Lots of videos pulling from a 12 that pays 1.3 Your setup look a lot more like what I’m up against Thanks 🤘😎🤘
I have the same Jeep. How did you know it was the starter? Mine is intermittently no crank no start. One day it's fine all day the next it just sits there and won't start. I can hear the relay clicking and the fuel pump kicking on. I replaced the batteries and i can see the voltage dip when i hit the start button. The fuses all look good. Thanks
It turned out to be a starter. It took me all day to replace it and I was able to use my neighbor’s car lift. I can’t imagine doing this without a car lift.
Thanks! As far as design goes, there are definitely way worse starters to change. So long as you watch some RU-vid videos this one isn't too terrible. If you go by the book it's an absolute nightmare!
The worst part about this starter is the fact they would last 2-3X as long if it weren't for the stupid auto-stop/start system being used. Make sure to turn that junk off every time you get in your vehicle!
Agreed. Poor video quality. He is right about not having to remove the front differential. I just did one today. If I was in a shop with a lift, well all I have to say is those bolts are a lot easier to get at when the front diff is out. And if I'm not mistaken alldata and Mitchell say nothing about removing the motor mount which is necessary either way. They just say remove front differential remove stsrter
