Thanks for sharing your experience here! I have a 2018 JK Unlimited-we had a deluge of rain fall over the last couple of days, low and behold my drivers side floor was full of water, literally like 4” ! It was bone dry when I bought it from the original owner in 2021, he had never taken the freedom panels off. I had them off a few times this summer, oh yeah it only had 6000 miles on it! I inspected and cleaned the dust from the seals before securing the tops for the winter. All seemed to be fine, albeit a small drip here and there but recently it has gotten worse. Your video is my first step in fixing the problem. I did notice, from the factory there were these little sticky foam pieces that have clearly been lost in removing the top. Gonna try and duplicate those.. Happy Jeeping!
My 94 Acura Integra has 300000 miles and it leaks too. I would probably be infuriated if I had a 2018 anything that leaks. Fantastic job rolling with the punches and taking it with a smile.
1:08 Good to know! I'll wait two years before I go looking for a Gladiator; plus all the special editions should be out by then. The only problem I face is not having a manual transmission available.
Nice work. I had forgotten that you can pressurize the inside with the fan on and using the spray with soap to get bubbles is exactly what I plan to do to solve a small leak I have...
Never mind the negative people out there, your doing a great job please do some more projects on you JL by the way the steel rear bumpers are available now how about a backyard update
@@fiero880 did you ever get this issue resolved at the dealer when you went for the leaking problem? Just wondering if so, and what the dealership told you it was and what their fix was? Please share this info with all of us followers/jeep owners. Thanks bud!
dang sorry to hear about your issues, I own a JL Sport with a soft top and have had zero leaks or problems and I live in the NW where it rains non stop. Love my JL!
I couldn't quite catch your name so I'll just say "Dude" Forget the people that complain. NUMBER 1, thank you for this video. I'm going outside to do exactly what you just did with the soapy water. I hope that helps me.
I solved this issue by replacing my top with a best top nx plus. I feels tho mopar hard & softtop always have these leaking issues. I too after I bought my jk had this issue & found myself going back & forth to the dealer, always a different story, but never was resolved & I gave up on them.
I wish you luck. I would like to have a jeep wrangler but it would not be good to spend that much money and have all the problems and lack of dealer support that I see on RU-vid
Man. Really want a wrangler. But all these issues are very worrisome. There seems to be A LOT of issues. From everything. Factory QC, engine, trans, electronics, death wobble, water leaks, interior rattle, wind noise. Literally everything you can think of 😂 those Tacoma’s and 4runners are looking a lot better now.
yeah a 39000 dollar Tacoma with drum brakes in rear? very nice, motor trend rated it one of the worst compact trucks on the market, not what they used to be!!
ive got a 2018 jeep willys jku with 23000 miles on it already no issues other than a wet drivers floor and drivers passenger floor, gotta be the doors.. is a hardtop..
Hey you messaged a 2000 tj ?!! Do you have any videos of that ?! I have 2 jeeps and I have a 2000 and they are awesome!! I want two see pics or videos !!
Hello Ed, I have a 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited JK SAHARA v6 3.6 automatic GECKO PREARL green. ●|||||||● And it has a leak on Driver side and passenger. 🙄 " IT'S A JEEP THING" Here's a jeep wave ✌ 🖐 Have a great rest of your week and JEEPY time
I just left a dealer in FL. I noticed water on the driver side floor, passenger side was dry. So, before I buy the preowned 2018 Sahara,,, here I am. Thanks
My dealership hid the leaking problem from me to make the sale. When I got home after my purchase...I found water on the passenger floor. The dealer also left wet carpeting in the back trunk area which was suspect to me. I kept hounding them to fix the problem. After 3 attempts ,they hired a professional to stop a multitude of leaks. That "fix" lasted only 2 seasons before the leaks returned. I then paid the same pro to fix it again. Next season...the leaks returned and I had to do this fixing myself monthly ....weekly...daily. The worst 4 years of owning a vehicle. Yes...I loved my Jeep but...I will NEVER spend my money on another.
I have an 18 JLU soft top and the water pours down the channel into the car when it's raining and I open the door (of course). Luckily I got the rubber mats (fitted like the Weather Tech mats) so I have no real issue. It all dries up like it should. I always have to remember to tuck the soft top back into the channels.
Love the videos, I'm in greer sc and I know the rain we been having. I have a 2014 wrangler with a soft top and the driver side floor stays wet and I cant find the leak!!! HELP!!!!
Chad Liljestrand I get these leaks all day at the dealership usually a foam kit will solve the issue. Bring it to your local dealership there is a TSB on JK leaks.
Hi I'm from Massachusetts and I so wish I lived closer I'm a knew owner to ajeep wrangler jk and let me tell ya I would've came to ur place so could've fixed mine I had alot of water it rained for like 2 days days 😔 I would've paid you can't find someone yet. It's annoying...
Excellent video, you provide very good information , you have the more detailed videos on JK hardtop and soft top installation. I must agree with others, FCA is asking a lot of money for a JL but quality is subpar.
I just recently heard a new “wind” noise in my 2017 jku as well. I just had my windshield replaced and thought it may be that. Have you gotten to the bottom of it?
I love Jeep and have owned a TJ and JK. Leaks are common and expected. I have yet to find a Jeep owner who hasn’t experienced a leak. Jeep only warranties seals for 36k. My JK didn’t leak until 90k.
Officially fixed, No. But I am still driving it with the original steering box adjusted and it is pretty darn close. So I haven't pursed it any further until maybe s few part # revisements.
fiero880 my dealer keeps telling me it’s normal ! On a long drive it’s exhausting. I was planning on letting my 16 year old drive it (Sahara) when he gets his license and buying myself a Rubicon but don’t see that happening now . I tried the steering box adjustment it did nothing . To bad I can’t add a video I took driving and turning the wheel and there’s no reaction from the JL . 2 inches each way nothing ! Great videos by the way .
I had so many leaks in my 2011 JKUR it was so terrible I put in the 5.7 hemi and wasted so much money to sell it at a horrible loss to get the new JLUR and I am keeping my fingers crossed but I like your videos keep uploading them
My 2017 JKU had tranny problems would not go into Reverse and when did would pop right back out as the clutch was released. Was told by Jeep dealer this is not too uncommon with manual transmission on the JKU Jeeps from 2015 forward. Took two months to get authorized and fixed then back to me. They did give me a loaner pickup from RAM but it too had problems with the climate control and it was a 2018 fully loaded one. Now I have a loud electrical SNAP that occurs under the dash on the drivers side, and total loss of all power, and engine shuts down after pulling away from a stop. This has happened twice to me yet the jeep dealer is at a loss as to cause or remedy .
Contemplating switching from WK2 to a JL and been watching a lot of videos, this one however has concerned me the most. Really not comfortable spending £50k to find leaks
Wow, A 50k plus vehicle with headache included?. Really worth it? FCA really screw their buyers... time to replace their entire design team or sell it to other company. Well, surely It never a jeep thing.. it just failed design or failed to admit they screw up again
Very true And by people doing these fix it yourself things..we enable Chrysler to continue ignoring this issue. I loved/hated my 2012 JK...but love my Chevy more. No wet floors.
I had water in my '15. It was coming down the front pillar. Seems like your's might be the same cause. See my video how I fixed it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v-0thAF-lvo.html
