2018 Subaru Legacy vs 2017: what's the difference? 

Just bought a 2018 today 16k with 72k miles

Just leased another Legacy 3.6R. So 2016 vs 2019. Got it because no 3.6 6 cylinder available in 2020. 2016 had a higher idle so would take off after starting. Also a bit more road feel and fat steering wheel but seat bolster support was lacking. 2019 much more supportive in lumbar front seats. Idle is now normal(proper) so not as engaging right after starting but much smoother acceleration. Suspension much improved. Eats up potholes better than 2016, feels like a heavy Benz. Lose a bit of road feel since now car seems to float. Overall 2019 rides like a more expensive ride. Much better NAV screen on 2019. Also the new rear valance on 2019 makes it much more sporty looking like an M3. We really love the 3.6R. Same engine that Porsche used from 1990-2012. Porsche only raised HP and Torque specs mid 90s. Regular gas a plus. Prefer 2019 with sportier fat back and side angles with 3.6R engine vs new 2020 coming out no 3.6R just turbo 4, nicer leather seats but slimmer rear end, more horizontal lines and leather on dash which may fade or crack if parked outside alot. Awesome vehicles no matter which way you go.
