Toyota's long standing Land Cruiser Prado 4x4 has finally been updated for 2018 with a new look and a fresh set of offroad toys. Is it enough to make the Prado hot again?
I saw this review.. Brought the same car, same color, same limited edition.. 2019 model.. In Dubai.. The car is awesome and much more premium than other variants.. Loving it for the last 6 months..
Hi I have a 2013 V6 Prado. I have done 2 inch suspension lift. I have 2 questions Firstly should central difflock be engaged in desert drives and at what speed I can drive in desert with central difflock engaged? Secondly, I have stock tires 265/65r17. I want to upgrade to all terrain tires. Should I stick with 265/65 or go for 265/70? I have heard increasing tire size effects the pick up power and speedometer and odometer. Pls advise Sir
Great review brother Would like to know how good are the ventilated front seats Do they actually feel cold on a hot day or its just a marketing gimmick ? Thank you :)
Is it worth spending that kind of money and going for the 4.0L engine option or 2.7L is adequate? I saw the figures on the brochure and to put things into perspective, 164 hp and 250 Nm of Torque is nothing to manoeuvre a seven seater heavy brute like the Prado. However, I am waiting for your opinion and take on that car to know if it drives smoothly and feels refined and well poised even at higher speeds. BTW, what were those rattling sounds in your car ?
MotoringMiddleEast Thanks for the prompt answer. Can you describe more of the difficulties you faced during the ownership of the 2.7 ? I would also like to know how much exactly is the difference in mileage between the two engine options and is it advisable to go for one in the used car market ? Also, which other models can prove to be formidable alternatives to the Prado ?
It's worse on gas than the 4.0, has frankly appalling power delivery, and is just terrible to drive. It only (sorta) works in light cars like the Fortuner, but is overwhelmed by the heavier Prado. Don't buy one! I can't be more clear. For alternatives - try the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot or Mazda CX-9. The Sante Fe/Sorento make good alternatives as well.
MotoringMiddleEast fake SUVs can’t replace the Prado. Crossovers are for mothers and large families. It doesn’t really have alternatives. Maybe the Jeep Wrangler, but that is too unreliable for Middle East drives. I like your opinion on the 2.7 Prado, my father had one and it was very sluggish. Thankfully he switched to a 4.0 after one year, it was much better.
I'll NEVER review a 2.7 - it's really the worst engine Toyota makes, awful power, and the fuel consumption is no better and in some cases actually worse than the 4.0 V6. I'm this upset because I used to own one back in the early '00s and it legit scarred me for life LOL
This car is amazing. We have it here in Europe as well, but it’s only available with a 2.8 liter Diesel engine with 177hp and 450nm. It’s offered with a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission. If you want the petrol engines, you go to mother Russia, they have both 2.7, 4.0 petrols and the 2.8 diesel. Personally, I go to Gibraltar and buy 95 horsepower communist-spec non-turbo diesel that has top speed of 120 and accelerates 0 to 100kph in 19 seconds. Long Live Lenin.
@@MotoringMiddleEast thanks. I like V6 or even a V8 but Patrol and Landcruiser will be too big for me. I am looking for onroad comfort as well good off roading machine. Can u pls suggest me a good vehicle. We r 5 in the 👪 family. Regards.
Earlier you said you would put bigger wheels probably 17 inch, and later on at 17:50 you say it's on 18 inch stock!!! , Any way, great off road review, thanks.
you haven't even open the bonnet and kept going on and on speaking about the car!! by the way, this car comes in to engine option, first is one is v6, and the second one comes with v4 . so lets hear about v4 >
What's there to see under the hood? The same V6 in every toyota truck? The other engine isn't a V4, it's an in-line. And considering that the 2.7 is one of the very slowest vehicles I've ever owned, definitely won't be testing it!
If you're going to just "keep skipping and moving on because it looks like a Land Cruiser" why bother doing the review in the first place? You need to be more objective and speak less about what you feel.
Speak less what about we feel? That's the definition of subjectivity, the basis of any good review. If all you're looking for is a brochure listing of all the features, go to www.toyota.com.
@@MotoringMiddleEast listen to advise when given,be objective and keep personal intimations out of the review, eg you said you don't care about the hind screens because you don't have kids! What about someone who has them and is wondering how it works??
The older one was ugly AF. At least the 2014-2017 facelift. Thank God it now looks like a Land Cruiser. The old one looked like it’s taillights were melting, which they actually were because, you know, plastic.
Lol you are bashing the toyota and complementing it at the same time... Be real!! And don't compare toyotas to jeep it's not fair even rangrovers toyotas are practical even who can buy range rover skip them for a LAND CRUISER.
@@MotoringMiddleEast This is a car review -and you are very biased.Anyone watching this video will hate the car because of the way you talk-which is very very negative.Go learn how to do a review, sunroofs are good for aeration, fresh air and the views. You dont even know why companies use sunroofs and yet you call yourself a reviewer? according to you, convertibles should not even be made huh?
@@goldenboyi1989 As a professional presenter on TV radio and stage for a decade and not someone commenting from behind a keyboard, I am very, very amused by this comment! LOL
@@MotoringMiddleEast so you reply to a comment that is almost a year old? and you say you are a professional? Does it also take you a year to do your TV assignments?
If you understood how youtube works, you'd know comments don't get flagged up - and I've better things to do (except in the last hour) than sift through 800+ videos looking for the occasional missed comments. I don't know who's more bored here, me for replying or you replying back after a year LOL
@@MotoringMiddleEast it doesnt matter-you complain too much as others have said.complaining about iphone 10 and worst of all-COMPLAINING about a sunroof in a car? DUH?? I would never buy a car without a sunroof. You dont know anything about cars really
