I always thought that Americans would buy only big cars, not something small like Polo. ;)

Hello! I would like to ask you abt your experience with this car ? Is it enough a 1.0 motor for long trips 2-3 times a year ? For example 2000 km a trip x 3 in a year ? Thnks in advance

Hi Andy. Well, it turns out that downsized engines - the three-cylinder bunch displacing 0.9, 1.0 and 1.2 liters, for example - produce higher levels of emissions and it was VW boss Herbert Diess who admitted that. Basically, downsizing only works on paper, because the NEDC testing cycle is unrealistic and ancient by now. The best example regarding what's about to change is, again, VW launching the 1.5-liter "EVO" petrol unit to replace the old 1.4-liter engine - which is a sort of upsizing. The same goes for Renault's 0.9-liter, three-cylinder turbo'ed engine (found inside the Clio and some Dacia models). But I reckon it won't happen in a blink, but in a more transitional fashion. Thank you for your comprehensive reply. That's really interesting and will make me think again about purchasing a car with a 3 cylinder engine. I can't say I'm surprised, so many reviews say that the 3 cylinder engines have to work harder at higher speeds but they are generally ok in town. Look forward to more of your reviews :-)

Test drove the r line yesterday, got to say I wasn't overally impressed from the SE and the beats, ive order the beats version but the r line does look good I'll give you that

I don't know, the old Polo looks a lot more feminine. But different strokes for different folks
