That ground strap should between the OEM PCM and the metal tab under it (towards the battery). Puitting it against the plastic body of the PULSAR is not ideal.
Next you should replace the cast iron exhaust manifolds with some quality shorty headers and add a high volume oil pump to compensate cam wear. The design should have been like this in the first place! Aluminum heads heat/thaw differently than a cast iron block and iron manifolds are the weakest point to have problems with snapping bolts because of the rate changes in heat/thaw!
Shouldn't you go with a high pressure pump instead? Sorry I'm planning on doing this to my ram 1500 after some kooks shorty headers just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing haha
research the need for the mds feature. turning it off will restrict oil flow causing potential issues. if you want to turn it off, you need to remove the system too. there are many videos on this topic
Dodge Ram 1500/V8 engine/2019/5.7 l/Horsepower 395 hp @ 5,600 rpm 2019 RAM 1500 Longhorn 5.7L V8 Crew Cab Short Box thats a stock HP from Factory.. Im not understanding the video I guess?
Wagoneer comes standard with the ETorque. Unfortunately it is not functional in conjunction with the engine at the same time. Basically only assists with occasional start/stop acceleration for only 1/2 of 1 wheel turn.
Looks like a great plug in & go with preset performance modes which is enticing but is it compatible with the 5.7 Hemi E-Torque set up on my 2021 Ram Limited & I assume it will violate my factory drive train warranty?
@@vinniecorleone62 Right. I don’t need it right now and can wait until all my warranties are up, but I figured if it doesn’t I might as well get it and have it installed to give my truck more horsepower.
@@timothywilson8526 I thinks it's a killer way cheap to obtain a nice chunk or additional HP & Torque. I already installed a Flowmaster Super-10 which made a difference & a cold air induction set up is next.
Hi. I have this tuner in my 2017 Ram 1500. Works well most of the time. But when I am in stop and go traffic or other situations when I am giving light throttle inputs it triggers two trouble codes. One is low voltage to the TPS. So frustrating. Truck goes right into limp mode. Has happened to me in some pretty inconvenient locations to pull over and reset the codes. Makes me generally keep the tuner at the stock position. Anyone have this happen to them. Any resolutions? Thanks!!
@@JasonWeaver46 Not yet. I sent it out to Edge last week. Waiting to get it back. They said they would take care of it free of charge and turn it around in 3 days or so.
Update. After Edge tested my tuner they determined a circuit had failed and they made it right, a brand new unit! Free of charge. It's an updated tuner. I imagine the specs are the same, if not really close, but it has a new plastic (possibly HDPE) chassis. It's black and feels sturdy. 3 bolts in and out and a ride afterwards. I will know if my woes have been eliminated. I have confidence and will make another update soon.
My 2020 classic has no way have changing the modes on the dash. The only control I have is just simply pushing the traction control and tow mode buttons. Would this tuner still work ?
I have the bighorn, you don't have the gear limit controls on the wheel? I use them everytime I put it drive for now until I get mine a tuner. I don't trust the MDS at all with the health of my engine or tranny.
We don't typically recommend "stacking" modules with something like this because it has the potential to cause issues, since both are altering parameters within the vehicle's computer systems. But good news is, this unit does alter accelerator pedal response in a similar way to the Pedal Commander. You won't have the same amount of adjustability here as you do with the Pedal Commander, but you do get an increase in power, some alterations to shift points, and the ability to disable MDS should you want to do that. So gives you some different types of adjustability. And if you don't like it, you could always remove it and just go back to the Pedal Commander. -Jake
I just took out my pedal monster and installed the pulsar today in my 23’ ram 2500……i am wildly disappointed in the pulsar. Too much hype Ill be putting my pedal monster back in and returning the pulsar unit
I had bought a 2018 sport used with low miles it had mods done im thinking pedal commander it ran very quick one drawback when i floored it sometimes it stayed wode ass open. Had to pump breaks to get it to respond. Kinda hairy on interstate.
If I did this pulsar with my 5.7 L V8 hemi 2021 Ram with 35 inch tires should I change my gear ratio??? I currently have a 3.21 gear ratio they came stock with the truck
I have a 2015 with the same gear and same tires and I have the pulsar and no u don’t have to but depending on the lift make sure u add the spacer to the driveshaft after all it’s just plug and play
I contacted RAM, and I was informed that any type of such tuner, would 'VOID' the Manufacturers Warranty!..............Installing these tuners, OWNER BEWARE!
@@AestheticChino as I was told and I quote "Anything that electronically or Mechanically alters the OEM performance of the vehicle, will VOID the Manufacturers Warranty" end quote..................but the owner of the vehicle can do what ever they want. I was just passing on info given to me by RAM.
Just installed this on my 2019 Ram Rebel 1500 5.7 Hemi (and Yea, I Reinstalled the "Ground Strap" Exactly the Way it Was B4 I Installed the Pulsar Inline Module" - Between the Stock PCM and Metal Plate). Set it to Performance MDS Off... Went on Test Drive, and upon returning home Rechecked for DTC's and Got a P0016 DTC. I Cleared it. Anyone had this Issue with getting This particular DTC (P0016), and If So, What's Causing it.?
Just purchased one and it sure does not seem to turn off the MDS. I have an aftermarket exhaust and it sounds just like normal when the MDS kicks on. Has anyone else had this problem?
sum guys push there trucks im sure they want to know the peak so stock its 395 hp and 410 max now if you add a jdm tune ads 10 hp 15 ftp so if you doe your basic math 410hp 425 ftp max
I would honestly contact Edge Products with this question. This specific unit is made for 2019+ model 5.7L RAM 1500s with the newest gen engine. Your 2019 Classic is technically the same as 2015+ RAMs. If anything, your truck will probably work best with the following unit. www.americantrucks.com/edge-ram1500-pulsar-inline-tuning-module-32451.html -Zach
