NOTE: 3200m is NOT 2 miles. For 2 miles the distance would have to be 3218m. That makes the distance of 3200 absolutely useless as NO COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD (except for the USA) race the non-sensical distance of 3200m.
Young and Sprout were both juniors when they ran this. This year, Young's indoor 7:56 3k is worth about 8:31 for 3200m, although he had a wall of pros ahead of him. Fernandez's 3200 is by far the best HS 3200 ever run. Some might say Verzbicas' 8:29 2 mile is better, but that was also against pros and with fresh legs. It's too bad Fernandez couldn't stay healthy.
