I recently purchased a new 2019 Audi Q5 Prestige 3 weeks before. I love the way it drives, Its presence, elegance. Bang & Olufsen sound system is stunning, Virtual cockpit is a masterpiece, Quite and comfortable ride, Adequate power. OMG, I am so happy with the purchase. Feeling proud to be an owner of Audi Q5

I have the exact same interior with white exterior. Put 39k km on it within a year. Still love it, no issues whatsoever, plenty of power, well built, looks great. Really happy with the purchase, Yep they're not cheap, only down side,

I have a Audi A4, but after 7 years want to upgrade. Love this car I'm in the market for buying G5, right now if anyone is sitting on the fence about Audi don't they have excellent cars and features. In 7 years I've only had one major issue and my extended warranty took care of it. It's a great looking, riding stylish car that turns heads. Finally after 7 years people still ask me what yesr and how beautiful this car still looks. By the way it's black with tan interior.

Good review and test, thanks. However, you skipped an important point. The 2019 model comes with the 45 TFSI engine. It has been modified to provide better millage and, even more important, to meet the emission standards of the European Union. You don't seem to be sure about why the millage has changed. As you may know, the Q5 has one only manufacturing point, which is Mexico, from where it is supplied to the whole world.

We test drove a 2019 Audi Q5 Premium Plus model. On our way home my wife asked what I thought about the seats. I had a puzzled look at first, as I thought the seats were like sitting on concrete blocks with a blanket thrown over them. She indicated that's exactly how she felt, and they were even more uncomfortable than my 2016 Nissan Frontier SL with leather seats. I was planning to trade my truck as I loved everything else about the Q5. Those seats, even though they are leather, are like sitting on boot leather and very stiff with almost no padding. I'm going to try another one, maybe a prestige, but the dealer indicated I had to get the SQ5 to get better Napa leather, so the Q5 is probably not too high on my list.

How are the bang and olufsen speakers i am hearing a lot of mixed opinions about them in this model... a couple of them are saying that the rear pasengers are complaining about the speakers being to quite like they are not working... could you or someone who has them in the new q5 say more about them...

Do you know of issues with tow hitch or lack of availability of tow hitch? In process of buying one (Q5 Prestige) and there is not option for it and not getting clear cut explanation of why not an option without paying $2k to get it and then heard issues with electronics not recognizing tow hitch....

Do you feel that the screen will be outdated in the next few years since it's not a touchscreen? Are any of the CarPlay functions displayed in the driver's speedometer screen area? What are the interior soft touch features like? Are the doors soft touch all around (bottom and top of door)? If you personally had to choose between a Volvo XC60 and this Audi, which would you choose? Thanks, great review as usual.

Test drove a 2019 Q5 Prestige with ventilated seats yesterday. Loved everything about the car except the seats, because the left side bolster was cutting into my leg and made it very uncomfortable. I drove 4 other competing cars the same day and the Q5 seats were the least comfortable of all cars I drove. Probably fine for small slender people who won't notice but for slightly larger builds or large legs these seats are a nightmare. Darn shame!

I have the same thoughts about the seats. Just picked up a 2018 and love everything about it except for the hard seats. My wife seems to be fine with them. I’m thinking I’ll need a seat cushion for long drives. We’ll see.

Glad to see it still has a key for entering even on the premium. Keyless entry is such an unnecessary safety risk. Sad to see the manual handbrake gone (it was never available for the Q5) and also the manual transmission gone now from the US lineup. These are changes for the worse, there are still people out there who know how to drive and love the precise control. What happened to the ultra quattro do they still butcher the good old mechanical torsen with this heresy in 2019? A final extremely frustrating and mandated craziness is the start/stop system saves next to no fuel and can cause accidents by taking away engine power at intersections and merging where fast response would be needed.

im so confused whether to buy Q3 2019 or Q5, Q3 doesnt have head up display and memory seats and Q5 lack MMi touchscreen plus costs more. Q3 2019 has 230 horse power which is good enough.

Don't have to clean them. HOORAY!!! TTS and the RS5 required a good wipe down every week to keep it presentable. Also, Audi is preparing people for the e-tron, which has no tailpipes.

I test drove the Acura RDX A-Spec as well, but went with the Q5. The RDX felt too long in the nose for me.

I really don't understand how can a company like Audi design such a horrible (for me) screen that looks like a tablet glued to the air vent. This is a reason for me to look elsewhere. Why not integrating it like in the A6/8? Why ruining such a beautiful car?

I might be wrong, but every German car I've researched seems to only use Premium fuel. That's Audi, Mercedes, and BMW. I think Infiniti QX50 /QX60/etc uses Premium too. Some quick math tells me (in my area) if regular is $2.20 and premium is $2.70 and both get 27 MPG, then it is like the premium models only get 22 MPG on the same $$$ worth of gas.

You've obviously never had to clean the real tailpipes on these TFSI cars. As an owner of other audi Models, I am pretty glad these tail pipes never ever have to be cleaned.

Audi only makes the full suite of driver assistance and safety options available (not even standard) on the top trim level Prestige. Typical Teutonic financial sodomy without a courtesy reacharound.
