Those cams are shaped like their old Insanity CPX/CPXL bows.

Now if they would just come back with an 80# option.

Unfortunately, bowtech is concerned about 80lb bow longevity, strength, and safety. Hard to do I guess. I was dead set on my next bow being 80... dealer shot me down, I got an sr6 anyway. It seems to be ahead of its time

Not making IBO, were you by chance on the comfort setting when shooting through chrono? My experience with the flip disk is around 6-12 fps change between settings depending on draw length set. at 318, your IBO comes out as below in regards to basic assumptions: 318 + 1fps for removing extra 2 grains on arrow (every 3 gr = 1fps) + 4fps for removing loop and peep + 13fps for going to 70# = ~346 IBO (short by 6fps from spec, also assuming the chrono is a +/-1 fps)
@PreyingManOutfitters
@PreyingManOutfitters 6 лет назад
Yep, that's about right. We shot it off camera a few times and gained/lost 2 feet depending on where we stood and the angle the arrow went through the graph. Most IBO's we have seen vary by 4-5 feet. Rarely are they over unfortunately!! Thanks for watching.

I disagree, there are plenty of compound bows that are older than 5 years that drew great and shot great. Bowtech had the destroyer and insanity, Hoyt had the Carbon element rkt, Mathews had the the monster series. All older than 5 years old all great shooters that produced speed. Manufactures have only changed riser and cam geometry with some small tweaks in the last ten years. There really isn’t that much difference between this and the destroyer. The only thing Mathews has done different with the triax is beef up the riser to kill vibes. Regurgitation of the same ole stuff.
@ball-se6gu
@ball-se6gu 5 лет назад
Triax is heavier than an sr6, sr6 is faster and competes in the vibration category quite well. I own one, much better performance than a Mathews. Mathews might be a touch less vibrant after shot, they're not any quieter, and the sr6 throws arrows much better

What is beter in Speed, comfort, draw to shoot all Day long - sr6 or xpedite from pse ? No one from YT guys give me the answer for that so far but everybody was testing, what is the problem , sponsoring??

It’s hard to beat the adjustability of the SR6. You can check all the boxes you mentioned by tweaking it to your liking.

Compared to the Mathews vertix which do you think is the better bow?
@PreyingManOutfitters
@PreyingManOutfitters 5 лет назад
Honestly hard to say one is “better” than the other. Mathews was quieter and had less vibration. SR6 was a little quicker, lighter and we enjoyed the draw cycle options. Best to shoot both and decide what feels best👍

Good review. But I think your getting reflex mixed with deflex. Bows with s short brace hight usually have more delfex. Meaning the riser curves toward the shooter. More deflex generally means less forgiving. Target bows have straight to more reflex risers. Meaning curving away from the shooter. Higher brace heights and more forgiving.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. In the market for a new hunting bow this year. For a second I was set on Mathews Vertix but wasn't to excited with the ATA of 30" because I've been trying really heard to find a 32" or 31 1/2" ATA bow. Then I saw this video and looked up the new SS and SR6 & both have 32" ATA's so now I'm really on the fence. The vertix is pretty dang nice though I just like a little more length but so hard to decide. Thanks for the video.
@ball-se6gu
@ball-se6gu 5 лет назад
Vertix and sr6 are the same price, 1100 MSRP around there? Do you wanna have a 352 ibo or a 342? The sr6 fits your ata rating. Dont be scared of the bowtech, new in-house limbs, incredible technology. Their issues have passed

@@ball-se6guUnfortunately Mathews still has crappy strings and cables. Factor in 150.00-200.00 to buy aftermarket strings & cables. Mathews should cut their price by a couple hundred bucks, or catch up to everyone's string quality. My first Mathews bow went through three sets of strings and cables in just a couple months. I finally bought Winners Choice strings and cables. Shot the same set for a couple years without having to replace them. I have owned tons of different bows over the years and used to shoot almost every day. I have to say Bowtech has had the best factory strings in my opinion.
@ball-se6gu
@ball-se6gu 5 лет назад
@@BOOMER-rs5qn my bowtech insanity cpx shot great without a single issue for 6 years with factory strings and cables that are still being shot by the friend I sold it to. Religious string waxing without and issue. I really screwed up with my sr6, I had winners choice strings put on, for free by my pro shop, he kept the originals I hadn't used, tuning issues up the rear end. Never had that problem with octane strings. It shoots great now, just wish I didn't have to waste so much time getting a broadhead to fly right when I could've just left the factory ones on. The sr6 is a great piece of archery equipment though, I would strongly urge others to buy it if thinking of an upgrade. It's better than any other manufacturers flagship bow that I shot in the spring.

All of the reviews I'm seeing are 60#. I wouldn't be suprised if there are issues with the 70# version of this model in the future.
@elixiriszog
@elixiriszog 6 лет назад
The thing you have to realize is that, when a bow model FIRST comes out, most archery shops are sent an introductory set of 5 or so bows, and they tend to be a particular spec. The full range is not available day 1 of launch. Every Bowtech dealer I've been to (which is admittedly only 3 in my area) has had the same color and poundage, and yes, they're 60 pounds. The Hoyts, on the other hand, seem to all be #3 cam (27-30") and 70 pounds. /shrug. There's no conspiracy. It's just what came off the line first.

Right at the 10 minute mark you can see it shot through the chrono at 318fps with the bow we had at only 59# draw weight and an arrow a bit heavier than IBO grain weight (IBO is based on 70# draw weight and 350 grain arrow).

I shot this bow today at 60# and 28.5"... I was very impressed with how smooth the draw was. No real hump or dump into the valley. It held and shot very nice. I did not chrono the bow. Id buy the SR6 if I was going to buy a Bowtech hunting rig this year. The SS also felt nice, but fairly slow and the SR6 is also quite smooth IMO. Why not gain the performance if there is no real cost for it?

Curious how others tests for speed come out. I watched a guy shoot this at 60# 29" 411 grains and only hit 273 which is only a 320 ibo.....
@bobbybell36
@bobbybell36 6 лет назад
And based on your tests you hit around a 340 ibo only

Hey Blue Collar - Thanks for watching. Considering the peep and the loop drops a few feet and we were light on poundage. We shot it a couple more times off camera and gained a couple feet depending on where we stood and the angle the arrow went through the graph. All things considered it seemed to clock in between 346-348. Thanks again!

I love how people oggle over other bow manufacturers but a bowtech comes up and everyone is an expert and bowtech is trash😂 better draw than 90% of all bows, throws 352 at 4.3 lbs and 32 inches ata, with weighted cams. Keep shooting your hoyts, I'll keep shooting a bowtech and trashing you on the 3d course and in the field.
