Every Buick Regal TourX comes with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with stop-start, which makes 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The advanced AWD system employs twin clutches and a locking differential for maximum grip on or off the beaten path. This powertrain is rated for 21 miles per gallon city, 29 highway, and 26 combined on premium fuel.
Buick Regal TourX Essence buyers have three trim options: TourX Base, Tourx Preferred, and TourX Essence. Base comes standard with 18-inch wheels, keyless access and start, an electronic parking brake, hill start assist, heated mirrors, cloth upholstery, a garage door opener, a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a new cabin ionizer. Preferred adds an 8-way power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Finally, Essence rounds out the line with an 8-inch infotainment system, a heated steering wheel, remote start, leather upholstery, an 8-way passenger seat, ambient interior lighting, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Buick doesn’t neglect safety with the Regal TourX either, so it comes with a comprehensive suite of standard and available technologies, starting with a standard reversing camera. There’s also an active hood that detects an imminent collision with a pedestrian and raises to minimize impact and lessen injury at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. The optional Driver Confidence I package adds lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear backup sensors. Driver Confidence II tacks on front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control with automatic braking. The Regal TourX has not yet been crash tested by any third-party agency.

I haven't found anything else that I like as much, especially with the fantastic deal, so I bought the car, eh, wagon. Get the high end model, the base is not well equiped, and with packages. I opted out of the moon roof due to the warm climate and the windows aren't well tinted.

Tour X Essence also has a heated stearing wheel (control on the left part of steering wheel), the rear hatch height is adjustable, auto dimming mirrors on left and center. Plus there is a pull down arm rest in the back seat. The front seat memory works with the remote so that it adjusts the seats and mirrors automatically depending on which remote you are using. You can select this from the touch screen. Premium fuel recommended in order to get the published specs but we use regular and there isn't much different in mileage or performance. Even the salesman suggested regular unleaded. Homelink is easy to set up but not automatic open or close, you must press the button or use your cell phone which can be used to control most everything on the car. Remote start can be set to turn on the heated seats and climate control if desired. A near luxury car for a great price. My favorite!

I forgot to mention that the touch screen allows you to select a function which will back to seat up automatically when you open the door for easier entry and exit.

The review is very detailed overall and I liked it a lot. I am in the market for this specific vehicle and has done extensive research including multiple test drives. Unfortunately, there are some incorrect or missing information. 8:33 It has 295 lb-ft of torque. You corrected this at 13:27. 8:35 Those are LED headlights. 10:14 The sensor is actually in the middle of the rear bumper. 12:11 There is no halogen projector. The only halogen bulbs are the fog lamps. 16:09 That is hood release. 18:29 The tires are way over-inflated at 44 psi! Be careful and don't get hurt. 19:38 It also doubles as a mute audio button. 25:38 The sun visors does slide and extend. 26:46 The Essence trim has 40-20-40 split seats as standard equipment and you showed that at 27:30.

At 14:04, excellent observation and point. So, let a man help you with that. Proper washing, cleaning, chemical and physical decontamination, and then an application of a water-repelling sealant (here, a ceramic or SiO2 would be incredible). Keeping the vehicle clean will solve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tend to keep my vehicles clean and debris free but we all know of those folks that tend to only add gas, oil and miles and never think about car washes or waxing :)

So now that this MY is 6 years old for those who have one, what is your report on reliability and overall impression? Or did you not keep it that long? I have my eye on one and not that it compares but the other choice is the Volvo V60 CC, not the Outback which I have had and is not a wagon. I got to guess these will dive in value about now...for an Essence maybe 27k or so? I remember when these came out and they have always been of interest. Thanks

Same as on the new Chevy Blazer. I don't like that new feature. Its annoying! I want to be able to turn it off if I don't want it. Our luck is that the Govt will mandate this on all future cars without the ability to turn it off!!!

In late 2016 I test drove a Buick Regal in comparison to a Malibu Premier. I loved everything about the Regal except the seats felt too stiff to me compared to the Malibu so I went with the Malibu. I just felt every bump very harshly on the road test, but man that thing had a lot of giddy up and go out of the gate. I guess I needed a slight more luxury ride. Now I'm wondering how these 2019 Regals ride now that it's 3 yrs later? Of course the longer vehicle (TourX) of course will ride better but how's the the seats feel? Still very stiff or is it more forgiving now? Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the question. In short, no. Unless you want to research aftermarket options. Couple of ideas that are free but not the greatest:1. Put transmission into Manual mode when you stop , just remember to shift back into Automatic when you go. 2. Turn the ac on max when you stop. (although you might get a bit cold). Love the car but why won't they let you turn off the start stop? Total deal breaker for me . Stupid decision by GM their losing customers over this . I've had friends walk out of the dealerships when they find out they can't turn it off.

We've heard that if the AC is engaged that it will override the Start/Stop feature and keep the vehicle running. Not sure if this is accurate or not and still doesn't address the issue for winter months. Thanks for watching!

@@TwoGuysandaRide ...Buick (GM) did not advertise or do any real marketing of this car other than a few journalist demo/side-by-side comparison. Outside of that, you saw ZERO advertising for the TourX. Buick's best car, but not the profit king their SUVs are. GM had a great thing/car in the TourX, but because it was built under contract, I think the whole car (all versions world wide) are gone. If it isn't a truck, SUV, Camaro, or Corvette, GM could care less.

Why oh why, when youtubers review a car like this, do you never state the length of the cargo area with seats down? This car is made for weekend camping trips. Viewers want to know, can I fit my sleeping bag back there and camp in my car? I don't want to see your random junk with back seats in place. Show the entire cargo area and state the length, not cubic feet.

Sorry because I like this car very much. For me the downsides like the exhaust tips, inability to defeat the stop/start spoil it for me. Also, a V6 option would be desirable. Good video, I'll watch for others.

It's got its positives and negatives. Overall a very competent car but unfortunately American Wagons are not very much in demand and they don't tend to hold their value.

That is my only complaint with this car. The exhaust tips are fake. If I had realized that, I still would have bought it, it is extraordinary!
