FYI, a large number of 2015-2018 Coyotes develop engine noise that is believed to be piston slap. The 2019 is a slight redesign. We don't yet know if those are affected yet.

When I was your age, the Infotainment system for my car was an AM/FM stereo and smokey burnouts in a Fox Body Mustang GT with T-Tops and Flowmaster exhaust. 😂

The 6th gen Mustang is definitely the best muscle car on the market right now... sure it's not the most powerful, but it's got relatively good visibility (I know visibility isn't great on a muscle car, but the Mustang has pretty good visibility), and it's comfortable to drive. I rented and drove a 2016 model and I felt very comfortable driving it. :)
I couldn't agree with you more on the 10 speed. I have a 2019 GT coupe with the 10 speed and I hate the way it shifts. Its like the transmission speaks Spanish and the Engine speaks English.
Are you driving in regular drive mode or Sport? Pick one and the transmission will learn your driving style over the next few thousand miles. 15K miles on my ‘18 GT with the auto. I leave it in Sport all the time and it shifts great.
I will try that I have not messed with sport much. My car only has 2k miles on it so maybe I just need to give it a little more time. Thanks for your reply.
Chris Carguy Sport mode you’re driving a different car. Give it a few hundred miles to learn. Be warned the increased throttle response and engine braking are very addicting.

Funny you mentioned the rental fleet, I actually did rent one of these on a trip out west and drove from San Diego to LA. Had a great time, would buy one if I lived somewhere warmer.
Calisto Riviera Just got a 2017 GT few weeks ago. I bought 255 Continental DWS06 tires. So far I love them. Will have to wait til winter comes back. However, I drove my Ecoboost with the Stock Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S over the winter (NYC) with no issues.
@@KiNGMe21 this was my 3rd winter and I keep my tires in my car 2 in the Trunk and behind the driver's seat and they are not mounted on Rims for extra weight in the Winter, my car never went sideways in the winter with full snow or icy roads or got wheel spin. I live in NH.
I've rented a Mustang convertible 4 times now. Two V6 in 2017 where I live in Canada and then two EcoBoost 4 on two Florida winter vacations. I plan to buy one but put it in storage over the winter. Rear wheel drive cars don't handle the road well during the winter in my part of the country anyway... even with winter tires.
I'm about to pick up a 19 GT Convertible 10 spd with every option. I have heard that the paddle shifers are quicker than the manual and obviously less work. Being on the cusp of 70 I'll take the automatic.

You are SO correct about the transmission. It ruins the car. I have an ecoboost with the 10 speed and I am selling it due to the automatic. It’s been at the dealership twice to ‘reflash’ the transmission. I can tell you they do not have a fix for this even in November of 2023! Selling it and bought a V8 with a manual.
I had this same exact car, less the performance package, last week as a rental. What a riot. I totally agree on the transmission though, it so jerky in normal mode, like it is on edge. I thought maybe it was due to it being a rental car but I guess that's just the programming. Seriously considering purchasing one.
Kevin Norwood I agree. I don’t really see the point of have a sports car that’s an automatic. You’re supposed to be involved in driving a car like this.
Kevin Norwood I’m all for manual cars, but the mustangs MT82 has alot of problems with 18 and up mustangs, alot of those are constantly breaking their 3rd and 4th gears and many people are swapping their mt82’s for tremec t56 transmissions So stay away from the manual 2018+ mustang
My 2020 10spd 5.0 doesn’t hunt at all. I drive in sport, drive spiritedly, and it behaves fine. The 10 spd really is a technological wonder. The car is stupid-fast with it. I can easily do sub-4 sec 0-60s with it.
I test drove one last night and I have to agree with the transmission, then again I daily drive a Dodge Charger Scat Pack and this is nowhere near the power in the 392 Hemi, but it was a fun drive, but I was not overly impressed.
Jon Doe I disagree, all he said later was that it seemed like they designed it to be a coupe first and a convertible second. The convertible body was designed alongside the coupe and is different underneath, with a variety of strengthening including a closed panel between the rear seat and the trunk. It also comes with standard with a cowl brace to the strut towers. I’m driving an ‘18, that’s how I know.
The 10 speed auto is best for drag racing. The Chinese-made Getrag 6-speed manual has had problems with broken shift forks. Of course, the best 6 speed manual is in the Shelby GT350 which is a Tremec. Just like the Corvette, Camaro and Viper.
Nothing else sounds like that Coyote engine... It's my favorite sounding motor, especially with the new active exhaust. Before you needed to get a Roush system to get that kind of noise (I'd prob still get the Roush system, anyway).
Khyree Holmes It definitely stands out. You always know it’s a Ford when you hear it. It’s far better than GM’s stupid bong chime they’re so obsessed with.
I've got a 2020 Mustang GT with active exhaust. Just to let you know, it always defaults back to normal with each start up. It's kind of a PITA. Then I find myself being lazy and leaving the part to change it back up on the screen and not switching to the MPH screen which I would prefer to see while driving.
I have no desire to touch anything from the 19's back to the 2015. The BBQ tick has made me not even be bothered to want to get anything from the S550 platform.
I actually like the way the 10 speed bangs off gear changes. It's a nice change of pace for a Ford transmission since most of them just kind of bleh their way into the next gear.
