Just recently purchased one, and I am not disappointed, it’s a smooth ride with plenty of punch from that engine, I opted for the 1.5 Eco Blue Diesel, and it come fully loaded in the spec department, one of the nicest looking vans on the road.
Great Review, purchased a 2020 L2 Connect Trend version, much better than the PSA berlingo or partner. Comfortable, quality parts and equipment. At least you won't have to change the Co2 sensors in 3years like a berlingo. 😀
Sounds like he is in the pay of Ford. Makes obvious mistake in describing the lip preventing a phone from sliding out during heavy breaking. Sudden acceleration possibly could cause the phone to lurch backwards but not sudden breaking.
Tom here: When you brake hard you get the push forward and then the backwards settling motion as the vehicle stops. I'm not in the pay of Ford, just making the points about vehicles I think customers might want to know.
Tom here: Absolutely - they've said it can be used for both. The fuel port actually has a guide installed on it that holds the nozzle in place, so this funnel is only useful for the AdBlue on this Connect.
Don't forget to mention the exhaust filter overload problem it constantly comes on telling you to take it for a blast down the motorway. So if your planing to buy a van for just small trips . Take care
@@vanaramauk yes they put a filter on the diesel models. It fills up on short journeys and it burns off on long journeys. So if you do a lot of short journeys the exhaust filter overload light comes on . You then have to drive to clear. Google it .
Tom here: I'm definitely going to take this on board and start testing the vehicles under load. Thanks for your feedback, it will really help improve the reviews.
Way smaller than my Transit Connect 2012. What about reliability of all of these vans. Sure, they look nice when they’re brand new, but what about reliability. That’s the most important part. This felt more like a commercial.
The original Connect wasn’t a particularly nice vehicle to drive in facts it was awful as a car but okay as a van. I have tried a new one recently from a hire firm and yes it feels like a Focus to drive. The seats, it feels like sitting on a soft marshmallow but would like them heated personally.
Tom here: Heated seats are a wonderful addition to any van, but I still feel the Connect has a lot going for it even without them at the lower trim levels.
If you want to feel like you're in a car, then get one. But the PSA small vans take so much more capacity with heavier payload, three seats, much more cabin storage and flexibility, with load through capacity. The Peugeot Partner is the best of them and has high spec trim levels which will give you all the spec you need. All based on the Peugeot 5008 SUV platform, so pretty car like drive too. I Just don't see why you'd buy a smaller van that's less practical and more expensive to run.
My connect has 3 seats, load through capacity and 3 more storage areas in the cab than the one shown here, Plus it’s not french so parts won’t fall off it as often. I’ve been down the PSA route believe me never again. There’s a noticeable difference in quality between these connects & the PSA platform as I know to my cost.
@@markheywood8236 925kg on my L2 connect, although you can get greater payload option. No idea on cubic capacity, I just buy a van which will take what I want it to, don't we all?
Tom here: We did one a while ago - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M-k__JMWG-k.html - before we started doing full road tests. We'll get one slotted in! Stand on me.
Tom here: Or... you could check out the lease deals on vanarama.com! Had to say it... but I think you're making a good choice with a Connect - it's a top all-rounder.
1:35 Those headrests are atrocious and in the long run they'll fuck your neck up and force you into a horrible hunchback posture, imagine working full time and at the end of the day you can't even relax into the seat (i'm also talking passenger seat). We eat our break meal in the van and I just can't ....
Tom here: Fair comment. It was an early review in our recent run. The 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine sits under the bonnet available in a few power outputs from 105ps to 185ps. The cosmetic detail was focused on in this review because it's truly where the vehicle shines.
Nice interior luxurious even, not really a practical cab ay, no space, storage, huge slippery dash, tiny little push buttons,, why can’t manufacturers make practical vans these day.🥺
Hi Gary, you say that, but have you seen the most recent Transit/Transit Custom? The technology/comfort/toys on show in this Transit Connect are there too! You can have heated seats, reversing cameras, climate control, a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in a van with loads of storage space that's practical too! The perfect van for you is out there Gary, and we're here to help you find it if you need us! 👍
