would the wheels fit on your tyre machine with discs and pulley attached? Excellent vid by the way, tons of detail that's usually missed.

Yes they fit with the disc & pulley on.

That red paint looks so good. Man with that many bikes you need real motorcycle lift lmao the 2021 fat boys are coming with more chrome now, looks like they used a lot of polished aluminum before
@RandomGarageUSA
@RandomGarageUSA 3 года назад
I think what you're talking about is what Harley calls Satin Chrome. It's a nice look, and it's definitely a more durable finish than just polished aluminum. I haven't seen a '21 fat boy in person yet, but looking forward to it. I think the chrome finish will look awesome.
@SooHighFashion

@@RandomGarageUSA yeah there we go satin chrome, it looks silver. I couldn't think of it so I went with aluminum lmao I'll be going to the dealership in the coming months having my bars installed so I hope i the 2021s. Really wanna see that 2 tone green paint they have on couple models. Along with the pan America

Beautiful bike, did you say you changed the tyres? Is so how much was a set of replacements and how many miles did you get out of this set! Cheers

Those stock tires had about 10,000 miles on them and had some life left, but both wore on the right side more than the left. The front was actually down to the wear bars on the right side only. I've seen the same uneven wear on other people's M8 fat boy. The new tires cost $620 USD.
@duder280z
@duder280z 3 месяца назад
@@RandomGarageUSA Weird. My stock tires are completely toast at 6100 miles. I'd be stoked to get that kind of range out of them! My right front is also more worn. It's the weight of the big primary on the left causing the uneven wear. Now I'm wondering if I got scammed by odometer fraud. It supposedly had 1200 miles when I bought it. Hmm...

@Random Garage I have a 2019 fat boy 114 just recently noticed a crazy rattle when I travel over bumpy roads comes from the front end, I checked every nut and bolt for looseness and finally my dad took a rubber mallet and began tapping the front tire and the rattle sounds like it's coming from inside of the front rim… Bearings? Something more serious? I'm taking it to the shop because it's obvious that this is not normal. Any suggestions I've been riding for years but never did any major repairs myself, as I did not want to void my warranty if I screwed it up. Any help or info so I could be better prepared at the dealership would be appreciated. The bike only has about 1500 miles on it I am the original owner, and I take it in regularly for maintenance. I know the mileage is low but between being busy and Covid ruining everything I have not had a lot of opportunities to do a lot of riding.

Bad bearings usually make a humming or grinding noise, not a rattle. Since it occurs on bumps, I would suspect something in the suspension or steering neck. Or maybe the headlight is loose and rattling in the housing? At only 1500 miles, I'd be looking close at the simplest things first. A major failure is unlikely (but can happen).

@@RandomGarageUSA thanks for getting back to me, weather permitting its going in tomorrow. I checked pretty thoroughly and its a rattling sound kind of like a bolt that fell off bouncing around on a metal shelf but I cant find anything. But if you tap that front tire you definitely hear it, maybe its in the fork. Ill keep you posted.

@@RandomGarageUSA after taking it to the dealership for the second time they said to me "there's nothing wrong with it, it's just the way it is. I informed them that I bought an extended warranty and that I am not riding the bike because I don't believe it safe. After some back-and-forth an older mechanic overheard the conversation and said he would take a look at it. And after just one test ride he came back and said "there's definitely something wrong" and it was determined that the wrong size bearings were put into this bike at the manufacturing side, he said everything was loose and just bouncing around inside the wheel hub and "may have" caused an issue while riding. The bike is fixed now no more loud rattling tambourine sound and I feel comfortable riding my Fat Boy again
@RandomGarageUSA
@RandomGarageUSA 2 года назад
@@readysetterrible3278 wow that's crazy. Why would the wrong size bearings even be near the assembly line? Perhaps the supplier screwed up and sent the wrong ones. The machanic didn't think there had been any damage to the bore in the wheel from the bearings moving around?
@readysetterrible3278
@readysetterrible3278 2 года назад
@@RandomGarageUSA They said no damage, but it was terrible sounding especially in NY where some streets can be bumpy. Its just so annoying when someone looks at you with a straight face says"you aren't hearing what you're hearing.

Where did you get that tag bracket?
@RandomGarageUSA

It a Kuryakyn one, for a Touring bike. I made a small adapter bracket so it would fit the fat boy.

It's a Kuryakyn plate bracket for Touring bikes, but I made a small adapter bracket to make it fit the fatboy, and also relocated the stock license plate light under the fender.
