I have seen her in one other video. She talks like a script reading kindergarten teacher, giving me the impression that she really truly doesn't know what she is talking about, and certainly the impression that she has never spent a night in a trailer and has never camped. It is hard to listen for a whole video.

I haven't been a fan of trailers since back in the 1970's when I towed a travel trailer from Texas, through Colorado, to Washington, then down the California coast and back. That said, if I were going to buy a trailer now, it would be one of these. How quaint and lovely. They have done a wonderful job of capturing old-school and new technology. This one may be on my bucket list of things to own. Of course, after we sail the South Pacific.

Liked so much of this and its retrospective look. Really cute! Lots of cupboards and it looks solid and well made. However did not like the fact that the bottom of the kitchen cupboards was floor. Makes it easier for bugs to get in (also a false bottom on top of the plumbing pipes to protect them would be helpful). Reading other comments I also hope folks have a choice of stove tops and oven types. Did not notice any hanging space for clothes, nor a basin to wash hands (which could be on the wall of the shower????) and the decorative piping on the seats would cut into your legs if sitting for a while. Also concerned that the bed is not for the tall, so queen sized would be better. With these few tweeks though, this would be awesome to own. Would be nice if they made a slightly bigger one for people who want to live long term.
@holidayhouserv2032
@holidayhouserv2032 5 лет назад
Thank you for the comments. The front bed measures 55" x 78", so it is larger than it appears in the video. There are very few openings in the floor (which is a one piece laminated floor with greencore polypropylene panel top and bottom. This entire floor is sealed to the frame. It is then covered by the flooring you see in the photo. The panel to protect the water lines is a good idea, and will be passed along. We have a 27' floorplan with tandem axles and a separate bedroom on the way. I remember the hot summers where my mother's vinyl car seats with burn my legs and leave those piping marks on the back of my thighs... who wouldn't want to re-live those days!!!

@holidayhouserv2032
@holidayhouserv2032 5 лет назад
Marieta, we understand your concern, but the corner windows are made of 1/4" polycarbonate. The company who makes these also makes F-18 fighter jet canopies and windshields for race cars. This is the same material, and the other products have been tested and rated as "bulletproof". The center window is 1/4" thick tempered glass and is used on concession and vending trailers all over the country.

@dwderp
@dwderp 5 лет назад
A permanent bed is a complete waste of space for 2/3 of the day. Such a loss of space is not a big deal in a large trailer, but in a trailer of this size it's absolutely pointless. This is a travel trailer not a suite at the Ritz.
@overton1963

@dwderp
@dwderp 5 лет назад
Fair enough, but the overwhelming majority of RV buyers aren't full timers. Those who are would probably be better off with a larger trailer. Otherwise they face the prospect of spending the rest of their lives staring at a fully made bed taking up 1/3 of their trailer's interior space. But that's just one man's opinion, everybody has their own likes and dislikes.

I want one! Perfect for this one old man, who loves it's classic simplicity and practicality. To the person complaining about this trailer and it's price, consider that it is HALF the price of a good USED motorized RV, and you can always adjust things to your needs. And with the RV, unless you have a "toad" or a car going along with you, you have to unplug from your RV camp in order to go sightseeing. With this, I have my trusty old pickup that is plenty strong to pull it, and I can park it and go shopping or visiting places. I love the retro look (except the windowless door).
@lass-inangeles7564
@lass-inangeles7564 5 лет назад
The person complaining about the trailer and the price is right on the money. This has no engine, so why does it cost more than a brand new Ford Transit van which can be self built and is far less bother to drag around. You are incorrect about RVs. I have a 1997 Class C 22 ft RV which I can jump into any time and drive off in. No hitches, hooking, unhooking, and no gas guzzling truck either. My other car is fuel efficient and can be towed if I need to. I never need to. My RV drives easily everywhere. So this logic is incorrect. Who goes to a camp? I don't! They are very expensive in CA. Cheaper to get solar panels and be off grid. If you have a genny and solar, why do you need a hookup? Trailers are hugely bothersome and a royal pain to drag along.

I still love it!! I've come back to see the interior several times now. I would totally live in this, just myself. I've seen several little things that I'd like to say how I'd use, or I thought needed adjustment. 1. Over- sink window is positioned too high up. (PJ couldn't see out, even I at 5'10" would have to lean way in to see anything outside that wasn't just sky). 2. I would move over-sink light fixture closer to wall, so if it's too glaring a scalloped wood valance could fit in. 3. This is how I'd use the back bed, I'd stack the two mattresses for a 26" wide bed for one, and get a vintage wood night stand. 4. Coat hooks! Near front door, and in little bedroom. 5. A couple more towel bars in bathroom. (One of my pet peeves in new houses or RVs, not enough towel bars!) 6. I wish that set dressers used more practical props. Kettles, tea towels, flatware, cooking utensils, pots n pans, foil & plastic wrap storage, mugs, dinnerware, canned goods, etc.

The front windows are made of polycarbonate (described above in replies) and blocks 100% of UV rays. There are curtains which can be closed for privacy too. The screws in the shower area, as with the exterior screws, are stainless steel. Therefore they will not rust. Also as mentioned above, this was designed to continue the production of Holiday House trailers, just as they were in 1962. They had clear glass windows and a metal lined shower. We made upgrades and changes as code required, but otherwise stayed true to the original design.

I don't know why they don't ask someone who actually camps what they'd like in a camper. Examples: More windows, windows that open. (Who wants their camper to smell like whatever was cooked?) Fixtures for cooking outside, like a stovetop that can be mounted on the outside of the camper. I can go on, and I'm not singling out this camper (except for the massive, unprotected glass front that looks like it's designed to catch birds and road debris and shatter into a vacation-stealing migraine headache). So many of these trailer campers are not airy enough, not ventilated enough.

@seikibrian8641

A generator isn't built in, but many people get a small portable generator and set it away from the trailer, then run the "shore-power" cord to it. It cuts down a bit on the noise and vibration.

I would buy this in a heartbeat if I knew where to buy one. I would leave the couch setup as a bed all the time but of course I would have to see if I would fit. I camp by myself and looks like you can setup a privacy curtain for that area. In a trailer this small, you can walk two feet to wash your hands right in the kitchen sink. Getting ready to buy a Sol but would buy this one if it was available. Thanks PJ
@KathieGross

I've watched this again and do not see any solar ready port. I know it's retro but the wiring and connection would not really be seen. Perhaps intech means to have people buy this that only use RV parks with hook ups? Thanks again.

I like the layout, shows how well-designed the older trailers were. When manufacturers actually cared about the end product, not just selling as many as possible. I'm puzzled why there isn't a window in the door. It would really break up a large amount of space. I'm also surprised a trailer that size only has one axle.

great video tour, I would have appreciated just a tad longer in the bathroom, slower camera pans of shower-fixed shower head or handheld? more views of floor space, was there a sink inside bath? closer view of walls in shower and by toilet. Compared to how thorough you are everywhere else, I thought the bathroom felt rushed. :-) Also, is there ever a floor plan still pic you could insert at either beginning or end of video, that would be nice as well.
