Note: Please use a decent antivirus when downloading anything off the internet, don't trust anyone, especially not me, so use something like Norton Antivirus. This does not guarantee that your computer will not be infected by malware, but decreases the chance, please always be paranoid.

You can skip the hexeiting step, by usinge one of the pre-hexedited files which I have edited here: drive.google.com/drive/folder... just replace the Viva Pinata.exe file in your Viva Pinata game folder.
Common Problems:
1. If you do not find a Saved Games folder or the pinata.cfg file in %localappdata%\Saved Games\Microsoft Games , start up Viva Pinata the game, press start to enter the main menu, click on Video Options, now make one graphical change such as pressing arrow on the resolution and save it. This should create the pinata.cfg file.
2. If you get errors when trying to edit Viva Pinata.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Viva Pinata and get a read only file when trying to edit it with Editpad Pro, please make a copy on your Desktop of Viva Pinata.exe. Once you've done that, edit the copy on your desktop and save it with the changed hex values before copying and pasting your desktop copy back into your Viva Pinata folder, replacing the unedited version in the game folder.
3. So if you want to use different resolutions other than 4k I have written down what values you should replace in Editpad Pro right below here.
Also in the pinata.cfg file please remember to change your screenresx and screenresy values to match your screen resolution.
For 4k (3840 x 2160):
Replace all instances of:
80070000B004
with
000F00007008
For 1080 (1920 x1080)
Replace all instances of:
80070000B004
with
800700003804
For 2k (2560 x1440)
Replace all instances of:
80070000B004
with
000A0000A005

What you need to do to get a proper code is remember the following for the code that must replace:
80070000B004
with
So use the website and look at the Resolutions table and check the value and the corresponding formatted value.
So for 2560 if you look at the table it corresponds to a value of 000A, 1080 is 3804.
The final thing to remember is in the middle there must be four zeros like so: 0000
So 2560 x 1080 would be 000A00003804.

When running the program just create a temporary folder on your Desktop and choose this temporary folder as a location to extract the files, then run the DXSETUP application file to install DirectX 9.
